Such a nice and friendly cafe. The breakfast was tasty and cooked to perfection. Ate breakfast here twice during our holiday stay because it's nicer to support a local independent than the hungry horse. The food is tastier too. Also friendly staff and they provide veggie sausages which is always a bonus to me and nice to see! Affordable and in a prime location with a great view. Would be nice to come again if possible

This is a great store & café based on the outskirts of Ottery St Mary right next to the garden centre. The shop has lots of healthy options and local food, drink and crafts. There is good supply of fresh fruit & Veg, cheese, local eggs and a great selection of cakes & bread baked within store. After a god shop or look around head into the café for coffee & cake, sandwiches & their own quiches, they even do chips now! If visiting the garden centre or passing by on the A30 take a detour you will not be disappointed. Good food, good choice and great staff. We love it!

Ordered on self service till and changed fried egg to poached and black pudding. The only fresh were the egg and black pudding. Bacon had to dried to high heaven sausages are small. And what happened to the toast itâs tiny. Not a great breakfast and wasnât even busy. No salt and had to look for the ketchup not a brilliant visit

History has disappeared! Visited a few years ago as we loved Band of Brothers, and there was a wealth of history on Easy Company, letters, photographs etc, but this has now been reduced to one small wall. We ordered drinks (man behind bar seemed grumpy at having to pour them!) and a plate of âartisanal flatbreads with hummusâ for the price of ÂŁ7.50. When this was served I nearly fell off the pub bench as there were 5 small pancake looking things, and about a tablespoon of hummus (though it was v tasty). Canât believe the price for what it was.

We were lucky enough to have pre lunch drinks on the terrace in brilliant sunshine. On a Sunday there is a choice of four dishes for each course. That is plenty of choice and mqkes life easier. The food was very good and a serviceable wine list. The staff are very helpful and efficient.

Popped out having been to this pub when it was for sale and have to say the owners have done a lovely job, lots of local produce and home produced meats. There is a lovely feel to the pub and the owners are very welcoming. Look forward to coming back on a sunny day to enjoy the lovely garden.

This used to be an affordable pub with a lovely view, now it's extremely overpriced, almost ÂŁ8 for a pint and the waiting staff wouldn't leave us alone! They even put a service charge on our drinks! Such a shame because this used to be a great place before it was taken over.

Although busy we were seated quickly so that was a positive. However after taking our order for x4 light snacks (cheesy chips/halloumi fries etc) and a cocktail each, we still had not received anything after 40 minutes! When the food came we asked if the drinks were also coming to be told our drinks had been served to the wrong table! Also when the food came there was an error with the food and a member of the group had to then wait another 15 minutes after which everyone else had finished. So after 55 minutes 3 of us finally got our food and we all had our drinks. Due to the delay we had to push back our reservation elsewhere which luckily they could accommodate us.
