Great spot for family dining ,great activities and large garden to keep kids occupied. Food was fantastic aswell and reasonably priced . Great selection

We love coming to Fagins it’s a great family pub. Staff are amazing, the garden is great for the kids and the food is amazing too especially the homemade lasagna 10/10.

Myself and my friends often meet at Fagins as it’s a lovely place to sit and relax whilst the children can safely enjoy the newly upgraded play park! The atmosphere is always super friendly, plenty of seating choices from outside benches, undercover seating in the outside barn, to cosy tables inside by the fireplace! Food has always been delicious, served in good time and generous portions! Lasagne is a favourite and the cheesecakes are amazing!!! Children’s meals are a bargain too! Definitely worth visiting!

The pub in itself is a really nice pub, lovely wait staff, lovely bar staff, the food is normally pretty good. However the manager is extremely rude to her staff! The many times I have been I have observed what she’s done and she continues to “bully” her staff and then moans at them if they have a miserable face. As a manager you are meant to make sure you uplift your team not put them down!

My friend & I often meet here, as it’s roughly half way between where we live. I have to say that my review is not about the food, as it’s always well cooked, well presented & served. It’s about the ambience, on a bank holiday Monday. This is a pub, not a nursery. Families, with children, allowed their youngsters to run around, play, screech, scream and generally do what they wanted, for the duration of our afternoon here. One group, sitting on a table next to us, gave us grief as they didn’t like the way my friend was ‘looking’ at their kids. That one of their children had just run into & nearly knocked a lady over,didn’t seem to matter to them. There is a children’s play area out the back, so why can’t the pub politely ask patrons with children to sit closer to there? I’m not blaming the children; kids will be kids. But I do think the pub might be more understanding towards the needs of its clients who do not want to be surrounded by undisciplined children. We watched a couple come in, sit down with menus, and subsequently leave, because of this group. Surely staff can politely ask that families with children should move closer to the back of the pub, where the play area is, and leave the front for adults?

I came in for lunch on Wednesday with my elderly mother. The staff were very accommodating and helpful and the food was delicious and piping hot.Will definitely be returning

We went to Fagin’s for a family Christmas Menu. The food was great, service was great and we like the pub atmosphere. The turkey was good value and the menu accommodated the vegetarians in our family. We have used Fagin’s many times and always enjoy going back.Thank you to the Fagin’s staff.

Family xmas dinner at Fagins, excellent food, quick and friendly service by staff. There was 11 of us and the food was piping hot. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Thankyou to all the staff at Fagins. We class this pub as our local, we go for midweek food quite often, steaks are our favourite, always cooked to our liking.

Very disappointed ordered a burger £14.00 asked if I want cheese and bacon for extra money said no then revived a burger in a bun with a piece of lettuce and tomato tasteless foodand chips are cheap frozen ones for the money not worth it not even a slice of cheese stay away loads of places around for £5 more the Anatolian palace did me a banging meal

Been here lots of times in the past and have always highly rated the food. Last night we were very disappointed. Mixed grill was much smaller compared to the last time we came and pretty bland. Rack of ribs were almost like the frozen microwave kind you buy in the supermarket and the chips were cold. Should have complained whilst we were there but didn't. Compared to the king teddy in longlevens which is also a QI pub there was a big difference in quality.

6 of us went for Sunday Lunch, I have been here numerous times and had good meals but on 8th October it was very disappointing,. Slivers of meat, cauliflower cheese-watery and cauliflower hard, carrots lots of bad bits, rest of vegetables and gravy tasteless. Friend said crackling seemed frozen. Such a waste of money.

Another excellent meal today. We had the carvery and a dessert. Extremely busy but still had the usual great attentiveness of the staff. We have eaten here for many years both at lunchtime and evenings and have never had a bad experience. Food is always good with prompt serving and friendly helpful staff. I would recommend Fagins to anyone.

Awful experience... arrived to find nearly all the tables in the shade had been reserved for parties which were big family gatherings with loads of unruly children, i felt that was a bit unfair considering the heat and its a family pub, clearly expecting other familys with children to sit in the sun and cook. There was a bouncy castle there which wasn't being minded by staff and the parents weren't minding there children who were being rude, aggressive and rough. I was with my 2 children 3 and 6 and they got hurt and bullied on the bouncy castle by much older kids. Personally if you want to find a quiet chilled family pub... look for somewhere else, I won't be going back there now which is a shame as its a pub close to home

DON'T TAKE SMALL CHILDREN TO THIS PLACE!!! The bouncy castle ended up being over run with ferile teenagers who seemed to find it funny doing acrobatics and hurling themselves from one end of the bouncy castle to another. As a result, my 2 yer old grandson got wacked in the head by one of these kids. Their parents seemed unbothered by their antics. We were supposed to be meeting up with friends and eating there. We decided to leave and meet up with them elsewhere. Loss of revenue to you....probably £150. We'll not be going there again as there seem to be an element of parents who seem to think it's OK to let their offspring 'run amuck' without a care for small children. If you don't sort this problem out, you'll end up with a lawsuit from a family whoses child has been properly hurt.

We called here for lunch having recent acquired a Quality Inns loyalty card. We thought we might try the local ones when we are in the area. Service was quick and the chicken starter was beautifully presented and tasted delicious . We opted for one of the days specials, the steak pie. This was delicious and came with chips or potatoes and peas. We opted for the chips and the whole meal was hot very tasty and too much for us to eat. We struggled though as it was so good. Would recommend this inn as we would certainly go again when we are in the area

What an amazing place. Quiet, friendly and the staff were so helpful. Booked a table with Jess the Manager. What a phenomenal woman. Because we know her from previous visits she took a break from cooking the food to come and greet and seat us, took drinks orders, delivered the drinks and took our food orders. The steak is incredible, try it, you'll thank me and such a reasonable price. Great beer and lovely dessert selection. This is so the place you want to go with family and friends and if you've got kids to entertain Fagibs has got its own play area. Amazing place. Go there...

Absolutely fantastic meal we had as a family. Meal came piping hot just as we all like. Could not fault any of it. I actually rang them next day. I felt they deserved it. I would love to see gammon served with pineapple as choice. Hope it’s done.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was ok but I felt it was expensive for what you got. I expected some sort of salad with my burger and chips. The atmosphere made up for the food.

Thought we would try out this restaurant, I ordered chilli, I had to send it back as it was just warm,so sent it back to be reheated. Expected to have a fresh meal but is came out hotter.. The food at Fagins is excellent and I can not fault it in the slightest, however the management is a let down. My family and I were sat in the section of the pub directly opposite the bar. All we could hear throughout our meal was who I assume is the manager either complaining at staff who were doing their job or people having a gossip about other staff. If this is going to happen please make it separate to where customers are as it is not nice for my family or others around to hear.

Buena comida, sin embargo reservé una mesa una semana antes de la llegada y no tenían constancia cuando llegamos. Esto no fue un problema, el miembro del personal que nos recibió en el bar nos mostró una mesa. Cuando mi esposo ordenó, le dijeron que la comida sería una espera de 60 minutos para dos parrillas mixtas y una comida de pizza para niños. No estamos seguros de por qué, estaba ocupado pero definitivamente no estaba cerca de su capacidad.Hubo algunas estaciones de desinfección de manos, sin embargo, no se produjo ningún distanciamiento en el interior: ningún personal tenía máscaras / guantes o incluso uniforme / delantal. Tienes que hacer cola en el bar para hacer tu pedido de comida, lo que significa que la gente está parada en todas partes y el personal tiene que caminar muy cerca de los clientes que hacen cola. We arrived at Fagins after pre-booking our table for 5 people. We were shown where our table was & we decided on what we were going to have. Luckily we had the menu on our phones, so were able to choose from there, as there didn't appear to be any menus at the table. We went to the order area and were told that there was an hour wait for food, which we didn't mind as they actually told us the delay & not just sat us down to wait. The wait was actually no much longer than half an hour, which was impressive considering the place was jam packed inside and out. We had starters of garlic bread, breaded mushrooms & potato skins loaded with cheese and pulled pork. All arrived at the same time and were hot and delicious. We could not fault any of the dishes as we decided to share them between us. The mains arrived shortly after we had finished our starters & they were also hot and tasty. The dishes comprised of chicken nuggets for the little fella, burger, chicken burger & gammon. The portions were good & the child's meal was an absolute bargain at only £2. All in all it was a pleasant experience at a very reasonable price. Definitely on the list for a return.

It took 45 minutes to service the starters. Though there were not too many guests. It took another 30 minutes to get the main course. Very average food. I would never visit this place again.

I went for lunch today with my children and some of our friends. The food was very tasty and great value for money. The staff were all very friendly and the new manager Gareth was extremely welcoming and helpful. The kids really enjoyed the play area. The pub has been refurbished and decorated to a high standard. I will definitely be going again and would highly recommend this pub to anyone.

Very nice pub since Gareth has taken over. I went there for a drink with a friend her kids. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the play equipment in the garden and also their slushie drinks. The staff were friendly and helpful. The drinks were good too. I will be going back again.

Went out for a works meal with some colleagues and was disgraced at the food that came out! It was horribly burnt and was so over cooked even a pitbull with lockjaw couldn’t work its way into it!!We asked for our starters first then our meal not long after they both came out at the same time, but that’s not the annoying part, I took them 2 hours to cook something even my dog would turn his nose too! I would stay well away from this place the staff were also very rude and was trying to ignore us as we started to question were our food was after and hour and a half of waiting for it to take half hour longer I WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!!!Coronavirus will be the hotspot for this place!!

Visited for lunch. Our expectations were average and that is what it is. Tired decor and furniture, dark and unwelcoming inside.Service shabby. Order taken and paid for at the bar, ok but only one person taking orders and serving drinks, good 10 minutes wait to order. Food came in good time, starters cleared away as the main was delivered, a bit messy! Food ok, not top end but average pub stuff at a reasonable price, but the chips were awful. Dry, hard and only just about warm enough. They had obviously been batch cooked and hanging around for some while in the kitchen, don’t have chips as I could not eat mine. Would have complained but I don’t think it would have made any difference, after all we had paid up front!Service was shabby, the young lady server, the only one we saw, passed us four times on her way back to the bar, empty handed, and completely ignored our finished plates on the table. We were not asked at any time if we had enjoyed our meal, probably just as well!Upon leaving the bar guy who took our order did throw an offhand “thanks guys”!We last came to Fagins when it was Four Mile House many years ago, it was about the same then, basically nothing, for us, has changed.

We visited (unplanned) on mondaywere both vegetarian and veggie/vegan food in restaurants can be really hit and miss we had a vegan tart and have to say it was delicious and had clearly been propely cooked and not just thrown in a microwave We had eaten in a more upmarket place in cirencester a few weeks prior and both our meals were terrible the staff here were really nice, everything was clean and the atmosphere was nicewill definitely be eating there again lots of parking to so that wont be a hassle if your planning to visit

Family meal 14 of us came out for lunch we had booked in advance, lovely food cooked fresh and great portion sizes, we had starters and mains all were lovely, very friendly staff!

Very quiet when we arrived. Ordered main meal and paid. It was ok but nothing special. We were asked if we wanted to see the sweets menu and after waiting over ten minutes and nothing arrived we got up and left🥴.

Ate there last night and had starters of cheesy garlic bread and rump steaks - all beautifully cooked and melt in the mouth steaks - would definitely recommend.

After last week's disappointing experience at Toby in Brockworth we decided to try a little bit further afield and have a carvery lunch at Fagin's. So glad we did. A lovely looking place, well laid out and not busy when we got there. The welcome from the staff was warm and friendly. They genuinely made us feel like we were wanted there. There are many reviews about the carvery here and all I can really do is echo the most positive ones. There was a good choice of meats ( actual joints - not the reformed rubbish certain other carveries try to palm you off with ... you know who you are..) and a fair selection of fresh vegetables. The meat portions were generous and cooked to perfection. The amazing young lady who served us noticed we were disabled and offered to take our plates to our table for us. Now THAT'S service. And that's why we've booked to go to this incredible place next week. If you are passionate about great food and great service in picturesque surroundings then this is the place for you..

Had a lovely carvery with a choice of three meats, gammon, pork and beef. Food was exceptional. The banoffee pie was lush too. Staff are so friendly and welcome us as old friends. Such a lovely place too.

Come here most weeks with our Dog and Grandparents, always a welcoming atmosphere and service. Tasty food at good value for money!

Nice pub food; staff friendly and food (although probs pre-packed & warmed up in the microwave) pretty good with a good portion size. But you can actually get a 2 course for £10ph - amazing value!

This pub came top of my search for "best carvery" in Gloucester and did not disappoint, lovely pink beef, fabulous Yorkshire pudding, crispy roast potatoes, roast parsnips and a good selection of vegetables. Followed by fabulous chocolate fudge cake. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Lisa and her team always please, even when we change the items on the breakfast or order extra breakfasts, there is a range from 4 -9 people for breakfasts so it’s not a easy order when we change things around, they have never got anything wrong either xx

Over the years have heard so many good things about this place but recent birthday meal was worse than disappointing. Variety of food and drink out of stock and then served undercooked chips alongside food which had been sitting under a heating lamp for far too long. There were quite a number of us and all the food was of the same 'quality'. Was really surprised with how bad the experience was but shan't be giving it a second chance.

Been twice now, Food is amazing. 1 member of our party is a Coeliac and on a strict gluten free diet - Jess was amazing both times and could help advise and make sure every he had was gluten free. This has become our 'go to' place for a family catch up and with kids meals for £2 its brilliant!!

We quite often use fagins for a carvery on a Sunday with family and friends and it has always been very nice. Unfortunately today we ordered carvery at the bar but when we went to get it it had all been closed down. After speaking with bar staff they were brilliant could not apologise enough. They offered us to order something else from the menu or they could bring us a carvery to our table just like a Xmas dinner. We chose the carvery at our table and my goodness it was delicious! They even bought us Xmas crackers and again apologised over and over! Definitely customer service at its best. Thanks guys!!

Have visited this pub on many occasions and have always had a warm welcome never had to reserve a table as they will always find us somewhere to sit food is great value for money.

Called in for meet up with family lunch.Staff behind bar were very helpful and polite. Drinks slightly pricey but ok ish. Meals were on the dry side and very ordinary. Table was slightly sticky and could have done with a really good clean. Just very non descript meal all round. Dark and dreary interior and felt like the whole inside of the premises needed a good steam clean and bright paint job and brought up to scratch. Such a shame as the garden outside looked inviting. Not to sure what to make of this place. It ticks every box in regards to fun, family and friendliness but then drastically fails at conforming to is food.

Good meal, good menu, would defo revisit lovely garden for the kids to play in also, would defo reccomend

We were passing by on our way into Gloucester and decided to stop for a meal. Friendly greeting from staff and a good range of drinks to choose from. The menu is great value for money, my wife had scampi and I had the medium cod which was huge. Very tasty with a choice of sides. Thoroughly recommend this warm and inviting pub.

Decided to come here after a day out with the family, lovely staff! I had the mega burger which was ace but unable to eat it all, my partner had the half chicken which he really enjoyed. The kids had nuggets chips and beans and at £2 a meal you can’t really go wrong, lovely sunny evening spent in the garden well the kids played on the climbing frame. Will be returning!

We went to Fagins for a family meal, there was 10 of us and we all had the carvery. Its not as good as a Toby Carvery but still very enjoyable with no complaints. Lovely surroundings both inside and out

Every table was left wirh empty plates and glasses. Carpet all over littered with food, cutlery and used serviettes. As we were so hungry we decided to give it a go anyway. Barmaid ignored us at bar until I asked if she was serving. She huffed and puffed and said she would serve. Carvery only had 2 parsnips, a tiny bit of meat and slop cauliflower. Quite happy to take our money beforehand though!!! Never again
