Have been visiting this place for decades. This is the first time the food has been so bad it was inedible. Came with friends we haven't seen for ages and we recommended coming here really embarrassing. Chose carvery 1 inch of cremated beef gammon was no better. Veg was awful. Don't believe the photos

I visited on Saterday 27th July along with my husband and 2 grandsons three of us decided on the carvery it was terrible the veg was dried up a cheese sauce had been put on top of the cabbage ( not really sure why maybe because it was dried up and in edible ) the beef was tough and tasteless. To top that the customer service at the the food station was also terrible the server didn't speak to us at all and didn't even smile ( even my grandson who is just 10 said i think that lady is in the wrong job) I complained to another member of staff and was told it would be dealt with as he was walking away from me he didn't even apologise We have used this pub on several occasions but don't think we will ever go back

I dined twice at this pub when I was staying in the area over Easter, thinking it was the only place suitable for a female solo traveller. Unfortunately, although it seemed quite roomy, I was placed at a table amidst some families with young children who were running around, which rather spoiled my experience. The following day I treated myself to a carvery, but again, I was placed at a tiny table by the entrance, which meant that people were walking past me all the time. I was a little disappointed with the carvery as the meat was dry, and again, I was subject to noisy children. I feel that with all that space, I could have been placed in a quieter area, but didn't like to ask if I could be moved. I'd say that if you don't like being in the company of children, don't visit this pub.

Great carvery,big portions the gammon was succulent.Really attentive happy service from Shelley.My elderly Mother really enjoyed her trip out from the care home.

My experience at the stone house is very good. Every time I go Shelley is always very friendly. Service and food is always amazing. Can’t complain.

This was an awful experience for the entire family, firstly restaurant was freezing and as we were midway through eating a manager took away a heater that was keeping the baby in the family warm. So we ended up eating in our coats and jackets. This was not a good start. The carvery was pretty good, however we ordered desserts and waited for at least 30 minutes - we had places to be by this time so we chased them up and fair play to the waiter he went and got them pretty quickly. However when they came out the brownies were rock hard and solid so we went to cancel the order but they still came anyway. No apology offered or refund considering the bill was over £100. Absolute chaos and would not recommend if you want a warm restaurant with a good atmosphere as this most certainly was not!!

Had doubts whether we would return after our last visit but am glad to say that this was much, much better. Firstly I was able to speak with the manager who sorted out the problems relating to the credits you receive when buying a meal - buy 5 and get the 6th one free. He wa also very polite as well as helpful. The food as always was extremely good and we have plans to visit again next week.

We booked 2 days in advance for an carvery and they cancelled an hour before our booking. I am disappointed to say the least!

Very disappointed, we ordered a margarita pizza to takeaway, the pizza base was very thin, the toppings were very thinly spread. Overall the pizza was overcooked to such an extent it had no flavour or texture. It was as if the pizza had not been cooked fresh and had been reheated and dried out.

My friends and I went to The henbury arms yesterday for Dinner.we recieved the best customer care from Alison and the team.Nothing was too much trouble.The carvery.s we had were very nice indeed.everyones plates cleared . Delicious 😋 Puddings were amazing too.

we were greeted by a lovely lady Alison who said they were very busy,but she managed to find us a table, very smiley and happy staff all round, eat a wonderful roast dinner and. then had a drink out side in the sun, everything was clean and tidy, thanks Alison for fitting us in she went above and beyond, all the floor staff were happy and very friendly

Ordered two carveries and two drinks drinks where fine and head chef was lovely but knifes where blunt and waiter refused to give a new one meat was mostly fat other was fine tho this place used to be great but over the new ownership is terrible

So we have been coming here for a number of years, fairly regularly. They have changed their menus so be warned pizzas now come with parsley sprinkled all over them. Parsley! (although it doesn’t actually say on the menu) can’t say I have ever had a pizza from anywhere that has that on it. Ughh. Also, a few years ago you used to get all you can eat chips with any main and then they changed it so you had to buy a bowl of chips. Fair enough. But to my surprise when I went this evening, apparently their ‘new kitchen manager’ states that they now charge for a whole bowl of chips, £3 might I add, and you only get half a bowl. In times like these with money being tight I would strongly advise against wasting your money here as you will most probably leave as disappointed as I am feeling. The attitude of the servers was just as bad when we queried the differences of our order compared to what we usually got (for years) and we were just told ‘that’s how it is now’

Late Sunday lunch on an unseasonably warm day - we sat outside with the dogs and ordered carvery and drinks online. The drinks were delivered with carvery tickets which you take in to the counter. Really nice carvery with lots of choice of vegetables and sides (although they did run out of roast potatoes). Everyone left very full, and it was very good value.

There isn't a huge choice on the menu but they clearly good at doing what they serve. Service was quick and friendly and the burgers were pretty good. I would recommend the wedges as well. I would recommend!

Been here many times as it has become one of our favourites but so disappointed today. Let me say right away that the meal was absolutely delicious as always and great value for money BUT............. I have their app on my phone and after so many meals they offer you a free one - brilliant. Problem was the young man taking our order had no idea what to do so we missed out on that offer. Then up to the carvery. As I said earlier, the food is extremely good and you help yourself to as much veg as you would like but the lady serving made us feel about as welcome as the plague!!!!!!!!! Not sure if she could speak English as she never muttered a word and the look on her face certainly gave the impression she would have liked to have been somewhere else - made you feel very uncomfortable indeed so much that I am not sure when, or even if, we shall return.

The location is good and was convenient for meeting friends. I chose to have a carvery and it was really dreadful! I looked bland and unappetizing on the counter and it tasted no better. Very disappointed.

Lovely fresh Carvery. Plenty of choice of veg. Cauliflower cheese was particularly delicious. Amazing value for money and such friendly Team working.

Had a lovely and polite young man make a pepperoni pizza and pizza pin wheels and it's the best I ever had. Would definitely visit again with the family. Everyone this place is really good, fast service polite and tasty food whatelse could you ask for :)

Was initially quite nervous eating inside after the lockdown easing but was quickly reassured by the professional attitude to safety. Masks, sanitiser, NHS Track and Trace and social distancing were very much in evidence and adhered to. Food was nice and the service was attentive....

This is one of our favourite restaurants and we have dined here many times over the years. Sue and her team are extremely professional and welcoming. They really care about their customers' experience and go the extra mile. They are also spot on with Covid safety and it is the only place my son and I have felt reassured since restaurants and pubs reopened.There is something for everyone on the menu and all the food is freshly prepared on site. Meals are served piping hot, attractively presented with generous portion sizes. Everything from the breakfast to the carvery and the amazing fish and chips (you must try these!) is superb and you would struggle to find better value for money anywhere.As for the staff, I honestly cannot praise them enough. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you feel so well looked after and their attention to detail is incredible, especially in these challenging times. I have dined in some very high end establishments and the staff and management here could teach them a thing or two. The whole team work so hard and always with a cheerful smile. They are a credit to their company and I hope head office appreciates it!

Myself and 2 friends came here on sunday for a carvery , I'm gluten free and they did provide gluten free gravy but that was it, I couldn't have Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese or pigs in blankets , the veg was I believe frozen not fresh and the roast potatoes appeared to be deep fried , the portion of meat was shocking, very small , I was very disappointed with it

Very enjoyable visit. We all felt very safe. Looked after very well by manageress. Delicious food and a lovely lunch. We look forward to our next visit.

The 4 of us did not eat here although we intended to. The reason being that the lady who was booking people in had an attitude problem. We understand the current challenges but the way in which we were received meant that we would not be going there again. There is no point in commenting further; restaurant staff need to be welcoming, not treating customers as an inconvenience.

Pleasantly situated pub in a semi rural location. Very good carvery lunch with a good range of nicely prepared veg. Interior is clean and attractive. All the staff were courteous and helpful. We were put off in the past by some of the reviews, but having tried it will definitely visit in the future.

Pre booked for lunchtime today, but got a phone call to say dog would not be allowed inside the pub, only outside and that was not bookable. But we decided to chance it. When we got there we discovered there were only three tables where we were allowed to eat. There were many other free tables but only for drinks. I really think they should change that ruling at this time when it is preferable to eat outside . Anyway, the waitress kindly got us an umbrella as it was hot and sunny. There was good social distancing and a few safety measures set in place. But our table clearly hadn't been wiped since the last customers. The seats were some of the most uncomfortable I have ever sat upon, which was made worse by quite a long wait.Three of our meals were fine, (two pizzas and a burger), but my daughter's carvery was not nice. Potatoes were hard and stuffing uncooked. I doubt if we'll go there again with the dog.

The staff are rude even as you walked in me and my partner took our 7 month old ordered a meal for her which says on the menu suitable for under 2s when we got it the Yorkshire was rock hard not suitable for a adult let alone a child also the roast potatoes could break a window and as for the adult food the chips were like they'd been in the microwave for 30 seconds my partner's baguette was so hard it broke her tooth and my burger had red coming out of it very poor do not use unless you want food poisoning like me and my partner have got also it's very expensive a coke costs more than a beer and one staff member chatted my partner up in front of me

Great place for food. Amazing pizzas and help yourself chips and salad. Bargain deal with a drink and pizza for £7.99 when we visited. Nice people working there and clean and warm.
