5 Stars – A Fantastic Experience! I had an excellent experience at The Libertine. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was equally impressive; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. Highly recommended.

Delicious food. Great atmosphere. Beautiful garden for relaxing with a wee drink. Climbing frame for the children which they all love so much. Space for them to run around playing tag, etc. PLUS our pooches are very welcome too. They even have a large keg/barrow full of water and plenty of bowls to keep our Dog's hydrated & as happy as us humans! This is the perfect public house to visit in the summer time with the whole Family. You will never be disappointed at the Appletree! 10/10 ⭐️

Faulty Towers without the comedy. Waited an hour and 15min for food and ended up leaving without food. Staff were clueless and kept telling us 'it should be less than 15min away'. Ended up having to ask for a refund, though they still insisted it was 15min away. Still charged us for the the drinks though.

Nos dieron un cupón de té de la tarde de pescado con papas fritas como regalo de Navidad así que reservado para visitar Harry Ramsdens ayer. Tuvimos un gran servicio por el personal amable encantador y deliciosa comida junto con una copa de prosecco.

Not the best experience we’ve ever had for sure. Booked a table for a Sunday Roast as we’d been turned away on Good Friday as they were fully booked. Our table was booked for 6pm & sadly by then they’d already run out of Roasts; so they obviously do a good trade or perhaps not enough prep, anyway we ordered from the varied menu & were looking forward to it. I’ll start with the positives, I had the locally made Faggots with Mash & Gravy which was great with lots of flavour, just a shame it came with what I guess is the left over veg from the Roast supplied as an accompaniment (Broccoli, Carrots & Cabbage (the latter being very stringy, almost a theme, you’ll see 😉). My wife had lamb chops which they kindly did with chips for her, sadly when they arrived (with the same left over roast veg side dish) they were very very small/thin lamb chops & it turned out one of them had string attached still, although I’m not sure why a lamb chop would have string on it 🤷♂️ We brought this to the attention of the waitress who wasn’t at all worried, good job it wasn’t my meal I’d have been insisting on sending it back, but she who must be obeyed didn’t want to make a fuss. I love me a good dessert & I had the Spotted Dick & Custard from the specials board, sadly it was just ok, I’m guessing homemade as what little fruit was in it had sunk to the bottom. All in all a bit of a disappointing experience & even though we get a discount because we were staying at Whitemead Caravan Park we will not be returning to the Ship Inn during future stays.
