My friend and I have a great lunch, perfectly cooked. The staff were amazing very attentive. We would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be returning ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Popped in here on the off-chance, looking for a quick, light snack lunch. A cosy pub with interesting nautical decor and comfortable seating. Plenty of parking. Friendly, efficient staff. Nice menu choices but we all went for the spinach and Stilton soup, heartily recommended by local diners on the next table. We weren't disappointed - absolutely delicious, accompanied by warm rolls and butter. As we left, we remarked that it was a shame we lived in another county, as The Ship would be our ideal 'local'.

This was my second visit in 4 weeks. Friday 1.45pm . Outstanding delicious food . Yes I went for the special. Lamb shank , it melted off the bone. Truly delicious. Pudding again off the special ginger sponge and clotted ice cream. Out of this world.

I had a chargrilled chicken burger with chips and coleslaw and my husband had a steak burger. There was plenty of meat but both burgers were very bland and tasteless! I tried putting coleslaw in my burger but even that had no taste. Very disappointed. Shame as the place itself seemed very nice, had a good atmosphere.

We had our Annual Garden Club lunch for 22 people here. Everyone was delighted with their lovely food. The service was also excellent. My meal was delicious, the cod had a fabulous thin crispy batter and came with a generous amount of chips and peas. The other two on my table had lamb burgers and said they were exceptionally delicious too. We shared the ginger pudding with ice cream, another hit! Thank you to all the team at The Ship for a memorable meal.

Had a meal there a few nights ago, food was superb as always and staff very friendly. Highly recommend the Tangle Foot ale for the beer drinkers

Visited for lunch on Friday 28 February. Served straight away, very friendly. Had drinks, Camembert for starter and ham, eggs and chips for main. Food really good. Have been to the Ship a few times and have never been disappointed. It must be one of the best pubs in the area. Thanks to all the staff.

Six of us visited recently to celebrate a birthday, everyone had different meals and all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service.

very nice restaurant! I love the roast mushroom and ship inn chicken! 🥰🥰🥰 Go to the Jurassic Coast and wait for the train to come back. It's not far from wool station, just in time to have dinner and take the train. Came to this store, it’s delicious! Recommend the grilled mushrooms as an appetizer (the one with bacon) and the ship inn grilled chicken from Mian, they are delicious! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Many locals dine here and it feels quite authentic.

The food was extraordinarily delicious and I would imagine its a Michelin star restaurant. We got a burger and a fish and chips and a day soup, all were amazing. I’ll be back again

We were staying locally and needed a pub meal after a day out walking the coast path. The food was very good, and very generous portions. Would recommend for delicious pub grub.

Was a perfect stop off after visiting the tank museum. The food was tasty and well presented.

Lovely food, some very good priced light lunch meals and cooked kid meals. The rest couldn’t comment as didn’t see how much you get for your money but average price for a main meal was £15-£19. Nitpicking here but couldn’t help but notice not all the chairs were matching. For the price of the meals it makes it seem more classy if things like that are standard. Good choice of drinks, great location near station.

Stopped to eat here for a Sunday lunch but the menu was really only sandwiches so didn't stay. The bar was very quiet and so I would say that this place is not really set up as an eating establishment. Probably a good local pub.

Guy behind the bar takes his job way to seriously and isn’t allowing for drinks on weeknights saying ‘There is no need for that much on a Wednesday’. Food lovely but completely ruined by the guy behind the bar. Won’t be coming again

What a fabulous little pub this is. Found it by chance while on holiday, and we're definitely going back again. The food was delicious, piping hot when it came to the table. You weren't left long once you'd finished your course of food before the table was cleared. Service is good and the staff were really nice, friendly and polite 😀

Traveled to Dorset to meet up with Family members and The Ship Inn was the ideal venue to have a meal and drinksfor a catch up The meals were very good excellent service certainly a pub/restaurant I would recommend well worth a visit

A last minute lucky find online - thanks, Tripadvisor! We were able to get a table and were served quickly. The food was of good quality, tasty and the portions were generous too. We liked the nautical decor!

Wowee what a find! We’ve been looking for a new Sunday lunch destination for a couple of years now and now we’ve been here it is going to now be a firm favourite. Roast beef with all the trimmings, ham egg & sweet potato fries (GF) + some perfectly good whitebait (for our spoilt dog). Dog friendly (lots of water bowls available), great service and lovely atmosphere.

Here on holiday for week. Came for Sunday lunch. It was absolutely wonderful. Had 3 options small, regular & large. Great price. Food was well cooked and absolutely divine. Would recommend you book table as very popular. Had a great meal. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

We had a very good meal we went inside the staff are very friendly. We were able to take our dog in there was a board in to say live music but l couldn't remember which Night.

Exceptional service from every single member of staff, which is very rare these days, a real credit to the management who were also attentive and on the ball. Literally would eat here again just for the service we received. Food was great, our burger loving son said the steak burger was the best he had ever tasted (and he’s had a few), pie also great! We ate here two nights in a row as we enjoyed it so much. A stones throw from the campsite we stayed at (Whitemead), and was recommended by the owner, I’m very glad we found it. Five stars.

Food was excellent, with a good selection for those with allergies. Fish and chips was huge. The flat bread was a little disappointing though in comparison to the other mains. Still good though!

Only stopped off for a quick drink but the Sunday roast smelt amazing, well kept ales and staff super friendly and welcoming. My son Knocked over most of my drink and the landlord gave me a free refill. Will be returning again when we are in the area.

Great pub just a few steps from wool train station

The food is good, a shame as we come here often for lunch. The bar staff are nice and attentive. The waitress was rude, after 30 mins, asked how long for a salad and chips and was told there are other people here! Not what i asked, but due to the attitude, I wouldn't go back. They were not that busy so it wasn't because she was stressed perhaps a bad day, but disappointed as a customer.

Excellent place for food, with a varied menu. Good choice of drinks. Good car park with easy access to the pub. Also, has a large outdoor seating area.

The food was out of this world. We stopped here after going to Monkey World. We looked at reviews and decided to give them a try, and they did not disappoint. There was plenty of choice, and the portion sizes were very big. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There's lots of tables outside to eat, but we decided to eat inside. You can choose items from the specials board. If you are looking for somewhere to visit for great food, this is the place to go.

Excellent pub food highly recommended after a day out at monkey World

Really lovely pub. Food was tasty and well presented. The faggots were made at the local village and were delish. Staff were very friendly, they worked so hard, only 3 of them on and it was so busy, but didn't have to wait long for our meals, they did a great job. Lovely atmosphere, would love to go back when we're next down that way. Well done.

We stayed at Whitemead camp site and the Ship was just a few steps away. Lovely pub with great atmosphere. Very friendly staff and nice menu. Worth booking a table because it can get busy. Also it's a dog friendly pub and if you get good weather there's a nice garden to enjoy too.

Great food and service, cosy atmosphere and reasonably priced especially compared to some of the pubs closer to the coast.

Food was average, nothing special about it. I’d say most of the items we tried were too bland. We were not able to sit inside as the whole place was booked for an event. There is parking in front. It was hard to get the attentions of the staff if you want something.

Best Lasagne I've tasted in a long time

Fabulous place, food amazing. Stumbled upon this pub during a long drive home. Lovely place, service was good but think the lady could smile lol. Spoke like she didn't want to serve happy when with colleagues haha. That's the only reason for deducting a star on service. Had a lamb burger and chips. Wow best chips ever, so thick, crispy on outside and fluffy on inside. Burger tasted homemade. Sounded expensive on ordering but my goodness it was eoth every penny.

I would recommend it to anyone.

We didn't want to luncheon at The Tank Museum as, despite it being a great place to visit, was particularly rammed due to inclement weather. We drove 2 miles down the road to Wool and weren't disappointed. The service was great and we had good fayre at reasonable prices. It felt like a place that wasn't trying too hard to be something it wasn't which some places in the area certainly attempt. Solid effort The Ship Inn!

Went for food Tuesday evening. Didn't book. All tables full in restaurant and bar but told we could eat outside. A bit windy we thought but hey ho. Wife positive she saw others accommodated after our arrival but never mind. Ordered the faggots and a scampi. The food came really quickly! The chips accompanying my scampi were like crisps with no potato inside them! A far cry from the advertised chunky chips. The faggots were tasteless and full of some sort of cereal? Accompanying vegetables limp and watery. I had a couple of pints which were well kept. The wife's (extremely overpriced)wine was undrinkable and she left a full glass! On a brighter note the tall guy with the beard waiting on was really friendly. Maybe it was an off day or a rushed affair but it was a let down after great expectation.

Horribly rude bar lady ruined our experience. We were asked in a rude manner to move off a table that was reserved. It was reserved for 3 hours in the future and it felt very unnecessary. She said they were arriving early. They never arrived and just left us feeling sour. Won't recommend.

We had lunch and ordered the Butterflied Chicken Breast, Steak, and Burger. However, the chicken was very plain, and the burger used the same chicken. Overall, the meal wasn't very impressive, though the service was okay.

Was staying at the Durdle Door caravan park and went to the Ship Inn which is 10 minutes away for dinner. It was quite busy so had to sit outside. Its a nice, big Pub and you order your food at the bar. Prices were very reasonable, staff were friendly and efficient and the food came quickly. Everything was cooked to perfection, very tasty and generous portions. In fact the whole family enjoyed the food so much we came back again the next night and it was just as good then. We would absolutlely recommend the Ship Inn.

My favourite pub! I often frequent the Ship for drinks and meals. I am disappointed to see reviews that are incorrect, such as the one below claiming a lady at the end of the bar with a baccy tin was the manager as that is false. The team are friendly and always go out their way to ensure customers have a fabulous time.

Beautiful meal and an all round great experience. First time we've been but will definitely be back.

We came here on a busy Friday evening without a booking for dinner. We were told we could sit inside or in one of the two outdoor areas and we chose to sit outside in the main garden. We were told when we sat down that there was a 40 minute wait on food, but our order was taken quickly and our drinks arrived without any delay. The food arrived 30 minutes later and it was worth the wait! We had one of the specials, which was a lamb burger with onion chutney and Brie with chips and coleslaw. The only downside was we had no room for dessert! The food is expensive for pub food, but we enjoyed our time here as part of a weekend away in the area.

Food was lovely, service is very slow and servers keep their backs turned on the floor, unable yo grab their attention, could do better.

An excellent, well presented pub with superb food and very friendly staff. What more do you need?? The menu is a nice balance of staples and really imaginative dishes. The crispy chicken with chilli starter was amazing and the chargrilled chicken with chorizo was fabulous. The ham, egg and chips was probably the best I have had anywhere, a simple dish prepared very well with good ingredients. We will be back

I had a rump steak and my husband had a burger. It was cooked just as I had asked for. My husband really enjoyed his burger. The service was great, as well as very friendly. Would strongly recommend this pub.

Dropped in on the off chance as it used to be a regular pit stop on the way home from Weymouth. Very impressed, prompt service, excellent home cooked fresh food. Highly recommended

Had a pleasant fellow serving our table but perhaps the wrong night to visit as it is Bestival weekend and the pub was full of families with children (we did book). However the scampi was not the best quality and was also overcooked. Our other meals were ok. Our issue was dealt with to satisfaction

My husband and I just dropped in without booking, table found for us with no bother, dinner amazing, but the personal attendance was fantastic, unusual today for waiting staff to make time for two 70+’s today, will be back

Food selection and quality better than the average pub, the beer ……. Well I googled the brewery and ordered a crate whilst still in the pub. Only in Weymouth a week but we drove out here twice it was so good.

This pub is fabulous. Great choice on the menu and a specials board. The very tasty food was even served on hot plates! Great atmosphere. Loads of outside seating, some covered, if we get any sun!!! Some parking.
