Came here one in the past, and was due to go to another pub with my mum, but she accidentally went to this one, hence why we ended up coming back here. We decided to cancel the other reservation. Both of us came to celebrate my birthday and found a good spot to sit. The atmosphere was relaxing and the food was great. I had the fish and chips and peas which was amazing. Very tasty. Mum had a meat pie dish, which she enjoyed. The only issue was lack of options for someone who doesn’t normally eat meat, except fish (I’m a vegetarian-fish consumer, forgot the actual name for people like myself), however, its a pub after-all so expect much meat! Overall, atmosphere was good and I enjoyed the time with my mum and will come back in the future. Thanks

Our waitress was friendly, experienced but mostly as frustrated as us with the quality of food. Odd mushroom soup, gritty unusual mushrooms, 1 ladle of soup in a bowl ( very poor portion) and cold stale sourdough bread. Come on, this isn’t difficult, if u have to serve such small portions of the cheapest thing on the menu, at least take the time to serve fresh and warm bread!!!! Gravy cold on the duck, poor helping of the limp, not peeled correctly and over cooked veg - again very small helping. Only vegan mayo on site???? Really? What a shame, 1st time there, not encouraged to return, despite being given 20 quid off the bill. Soooo over priced for portions and quality.

Such a pretty pub, my partner and I popped in for Sunday lunch as live locally. 2 roast beef ordered and arrived fairly quickly. Menu states the beef is served pink, it wasn't! Chewy and dark brown. Roast potatoes were white, no crispiness whatsoever, clearly undercooked, the parsnip was too hard to cut, veg the colour of tinned peas and the Yorkshire pud was like a soggy bit of cardboard, as for the gravy, absolutely no flavour. Shame really as a lovely little pub. Sent the food back, would not recommend sadly.

We had been recommended the pub whilst staying at the local campsite, they even gave us a voucher for a free bottle of wine or a couple of pints of beer. Sadly the whole experience was not a good one. It’s a shame after reading so many positive reviews on Google. Initially, we were greeted well at the bar and led to our booked table. The order was taken quickly and the food arrived very quickly. My wife enjoyed her Vegetable Roast, but my Roast beef was extremely tough and not as per the menu suggested. Unfortunately, the gravy was also tasteless. We both said the Yorkshire Pudding was the best thing on the plate! I struggled to get the attention of staff where we were sat, to order another drink, we also waited for so long for an offer of a desert, that we gave up and walked over to the server station to pay our bill and leave. We were not asked if we enjoyed our meal and the server was quite surly and preoccupied. The pub was extremely busy, so maybe struggling to be attentive to those in the corner was not a priority. Overall, the experience did not live up to others recommendations. Shame on the last day of our holiday in the area. Not somewhere we would rush back to.

Visited while staying at Lytchett manor , a local campsite. Sunday lunch was very poor, pork meat very fatty, roast potatoes appeared to be reheated, vegetables only the cheapest variety, carrots, cabbage, parsnip. Waiter did ask if everything was ok and we said no , so he just walked away. Took it up with the person who took the money and he was less than helpful, basically he was not interested in our comments. Will not be returning. I suspect the locals know about this poor offering, maybe why it was practically empty on a Sunday lunchtime.

Popped in for a late lunch today pub was very quiet. We waited at the bar but no staff seemed to be about. After waiting few minutes with no approach we saw a staff member behind us who was writing I assume dishes on a board. I approached her and asked if anyone was serving! The staff member didnt really seem all that happy that she had to leave what she was doing to find someone to serve us. She then came behind the bar herself and asked a little abruptly what we wanted. Through our order her attitude to customer service was not really acceptable. It felt like we were an inconvenience wanting to order. I've worked in a number of establishments and basic training is being polite and helpful to customers. However our food came out fairly quick and was very nice. It's a shame this incident will make us think twice about returning.

Went for Sunday lunch with family accompanied by the family dog. The food and service was good and the staff friendly. We were a little disappointed however as on arrival we were told our booking was for a table in the restaurant but dogs are only allowed in the bar and outside area, therefore, because the bar area was busy and as the weather was ok we agreed to being seated outside. Prior to booking I had seen on the website that it was dog friendly but did try phoning to ask about the situation regarding dogs, however, because it went to voicemail I booked online. The online booking process did not ask if I was bringing a dog, only for the date, number of persons and time. Perhaps the booking system should be amended to include dogs so the appropriate seating arrangements are booked.

Not been there for years.. Whilst Decor, atmosphere staff were very curtious, the pub was far too busy for the small team they had on service to the volume of customers. They did extremely well considering. Downside - Cramped seating area and having to ask diners to move their chairs in so I could squeeze past in order to get to the toilet. Yes, understand they need to make money and get a lot of diners in from the campsite close by whilst the season is high, but had I been of a person of a more proportionate figure, the embarrassment to ask some one to stand up to push their chair in to pass not ideal. Clearly no thought in how the tables have been placed or access to and from entry/exit points has been considered. Saftey first right? An additional shower was on offer to another customer whilst sat at the table, a very wet dog walked past and decided to shake, spraying all the water from its back. It then brushed past her because of the tight space between tables. Food - Quite over priced, nothing really to write home about. If you have a small appetite then you will be fine. Menu - Needs to be printed larger so you can see what is available as well as the putting the prices in bold so they can be easily seen. The size menu warrants being printed on both sides. Not all crammed to fit one side with a tiny, tiny font. If your going to waste a piece of paper cramming on one side, you might as well use the back! Not sure on this one if I'm honest.. Maybe in a few years...

Beautiful interior, extremely polite and friendly staff. Atmosphere was warm and friendly. The following unfortunately let the side down: The value however... Not great! £4.15 for a 'pint' of Coke zero. Wow! I didn't realise I had traveled to London. Two out of the three dinners were disappointing! Chicken supreme £17.75 ... For what was the size of a quail breast! My friend swapped out the salad for mash and no offer or suggestion was made for any additional vegetables nor was she advised that it would be a small dinner after her changes. So when her plate came out it was embarrassing with the tiny breast, spread out slop of mash and flooded with Nduja butter. A toddler would have been hungry once clearing the plate. Chicken Caesar salad requires a key element - chicken! A measly 6 shreds if that of breast for a main meal. My Chihuahua gets more than that! £15.75 for lettuce and sauce? Also feel that the rear entrance should be monitored a little better as dogs walking through the restaurant is not everyone's cup of tea. I am all for dog friendly pubs but there should always be a dining area that is free from them. Seating through the thoroughfare needs to be readdressed as when busy and fully seated the space becomes tight to navigate. During an emergency this would somewhat hazardous!

The food was so delicious! I had such a delicious duck off the main menu which fell off the bone, and then the sticky toffee pudding for my dessert. Delicious again, and without dates, which I was very happy about! The staff were very kind and accommodating when we were being awkward about where we wanted to sit. The refreshed garden was very cosy, with plenty of seating, umbrellas and heated lamps. However they have removed the small play area they had, which removes the family friendliness I believe. The pub closes at 11pm, which they are very strict about, as of course the staff want to go home. The doors were locked and outside lights were off at 11pm sharp. Many of the dishes were dry - or missing items listed on the menu. For the second week running, two of the limited number of desserts were not available. Three of us for supper on a Tuesday evening. Service was sadly lacking on the night. Will recommend and return to next year when visiting the area again.
