Lovely pub, stopped for lunch without booking and was surprised to see it so busy at 12:30. Nonetheless they soon found me a table and left me alone with a wonderful pint of Dartmoor Jail ale to browse the menu. I had the arancini to start and they were really good, I followed it with ham, eggs and chips a staple favourite of mine. Another pint of ale and I'd had a thoroughly good lunch. Service was good, food and ale were excellent, I think I will return.

Popped in for a drink and then decided to get a quick snack so ordered a bowl of cheesy chips which I was charged £8 for! Not only was that over priced but the amount wasn't huge either, I have to say they were delicious but a total rip off! £8 for a quarter of a bag of frozen chips and abit of cheese, won't purchase again.

The pub has definitely upped its game. The food previously was standard pub grub which was okay. Now the food has reached another level in taste and presentation. The bruschetta starter was the best I have had in a very long time, followed by the oriental chicken which was excellent. Keep up the good work and you will definitely be seeing me and my friends again.

My husband and I were recommended to The Ship in Teignmouth. My husband ordered fish and chips which was very satisfactory. I ordered a seafood linguini which I really looked forward to. However my meal was very disappointing. The meal was mostly linguini and the seafood was almost non- existent. A few tiny, tiny prawns, muscles about 6 as big as beans I did not see clams and possibly 3 tiny rings of squid. The rest of the meal was in a tomato sauce heavily laden with chilli so what seafood was there was not tasted. I explained this to the waiter and waitress who were very pleasant and concerned who reported this to the chef but there was no follow up to this and when we payed the bill in full the attitude of the staff had changed towards us. I had a poor meal but how my complaint was ignored upset me most.

The Ship has been a favourite of mine since moving to Devon 8 years ago. The staff and the food have been consistently good, on today's visit we found the food has reached new highs. all three of us were surprised at the quality and flavour of 'pub grub' We all thought the bruscetta was the best we have ever tasted. Yes the price has gone up but so has the quality and choice. £80 for starter's mains and drinks. Great value. Well done The Ship. Still my favourite place in Teignmouth.

I was at the bar when the previous reviewer travel47546996818 came to the bar, slammed the glasses down and was very rude to the bar staff. £5 is now average for a pint, but I don't get why there is a need to speak to somebody like they are a piece of muck on the bottom of a shoe. We like to experience local pubs and restaurants and occasionally, we visit The Ship Inn for a really good meal and drinks. As usual, they never let us down: Delicious and changing fare topped up with many types of drinks. The service cannot be faulted with literally moments barely pass when food and/or drinks are placed on our table as ordered. Always hot meals too, because no-one likes warm food. Summer and warmer days invite you to sit outside and view the back beach scenery. A real treat all around.

My daughter and I arrived just after 6pm and checked into our room, then went straight to the bar for a pre-dinner and drink. The food was a good standard but the service was poor. I had to go up to the bar to order a drink. We then went back to our room and my daughter had a shower only to find a ladybug infestation on the ceiling and some dropping to the floor. I had to go down to reception in my pyjamas as there was no way of contacting reception from our room. I had to walk through the restaurant and bar to speak to someone. After a brief chat amongst the staff a strange man offered to ‘vacuum up the ladybugs’. I declined this offer and asked for another room. The only room available for my adult daughter and myself was a very small and shabby double room. Having no other choice we went to bed. There was no apology for putting us in a bug infested room and no offer of compensation or refund for transferring us to an inferior room to the one we paid for. The whole experience was unpleasant and we would definitely not go back there again.

Heard good reviews about their Sunday lunch so gave it a try, it was well organised which sometimes carvery’s aren’t, they do 2 sessions we went at 12pm so it was all fresh and plenty there. The food was lovely and enough different vegetables for everyone, the meat was all very tender I had beef & turkey and my husband had turkey & pork. Great value for money too, could fault it. Although full we couldn’t resist afters which were also very tasty. Will definitely return.
