Great food and service lovely venue

Great place for food burger are amazing and on Thursday it's bogof but would avoid on a Friday and Saturday night unless your under 20

The food here is fantastic and Thursday they do burgers buy one get one free it's not the most attractive place from out side but the food and atmosphere is great please give it a try

Just had a birthday party here. Lots of my guests commented on how nice the Bradley suite was, staff were all friendly and helpful! We were also allowed to use our own DJ Ross Hamlyn and decorate the room Great venue would recommend Thank you Glenn and team

I"ve been here twice and enjoyed the experience each time. Great food reasobly priced and the staff have all been cheerful and helpful. I haven"t had any alcohol there but I expect it"'s good.

Good food and beer and very nice service. Pub is a little woof and ready but a very friendly atmosphere that should put anybody off. Keep up the good work guys and girls, we'll see you next time we're in town 😉

One the worst pubs I have ever been too over priced flat mixture plastic cups appropriately due to licence witch load rubbish charge 5 pound pint to be in plastic. Over priced foster over 5 pound for foster!!

Not enough chips dropped on the floor and I don't think 10 treats from the staff was sufficient. Very disappointing. Good beef though. I Love Beef. Dad loves it though so 5* from us.

Staff very nice but, men's toilet left a lot to be desired

One of possibly the worst pubs in Newton. Overpriced for a start where everywhere else serves pints at £4.50 or lower this one likes to charge over £5 for one pint. The DJs are atrociously bad, can’t mix, don’t take requests and are rude when you ask. The bar staff some are lovely, however that’s outweighed by poor management and a lack of care with establishment. The owner seems not to care about keeping what could be a very good venue in check and cares more about how much money he takes home in his back pocket. My advice don’t bother. And one more point the owner seems to employ people who just cause problems but doesn’t seem to rectify this by employing decent, friendly members of staff and pouring money in where they need to as an establishment. Poor attention to detail, and furthermore a sinking ship.

Firstly, if I was rating simply on the food, drink and service I would have scored it five. Burger & chips and a pint cheaper (and so much better) than wetherspoons! However it loses a point for the toilet facilities The gent's toilet is pretty dire and the door to the cubicle doesn't lock. I have a stoma and sometimes need to change the bag when out. There appears to be an absence of a disabled loo, which I use for such a purpose. Also there is no waste bin in the gents, which meant I had the indignity of carrying my waste bag outside, past other customers, to put it in the bin near the back gate. I hope the management will read this feedback

Popped in for Sunday lunch . Excellent food and was great for us as we could bring our 🐕.

We had two adult Sunday roasts for £18 and they were lovely. Lots of beef and gravy. They catered for Gluten Free by providing my partner with a different gravy and knew that the cauliflower cheese had gluten in it. The carrots, cabbage and red cabbage were on a seperate dish and tasted amazing. The Yorkshire pudding and stuffing ball (not gluten free) we’re very tasty too. My partner struggles to find kitchens that accommodate his gluten intolerance but these guys listened and did what they could which is far better than most pubs out there. Our dog was given a treat too. Lovely grub and lovely staff.

Was here for the wheatus concert, great live venue. Friendly bar staff!

Dull,boring,dingy and overpriced. At the weekend you get to see newton abbot's finest display of mutants welding knifes and fighting. Accompanied by the smell of urine and sick. Avoid.

Lovely pub, lots of wood and brick. It has a large, attractive, covered rear garden, an oasis in the town and regular live music. The food looked great but wrong time of day for us. Service was good and some good ales.

We have not visited for a couple of years but thought we would have a change from the usual pub we use when in Newton Abbot on a Sunday. So glad we did. The roasts looked really nice but we opted for the burger and drink special at £6.95. I had cheeseburger and my wife had the chicken fillet. Could not fault either and washed down with Jail ale and Thatchers Haze. Service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back next time in Newton and try the roast.

Lovely food, friendly staff, great music selection, massive outside area. Dogs allowed and also do live music nights.

Staff all moaning behind the bar they only get paid £9.50 an hour and don't even get fed on shift in front of strangers who could have become regulars isn't great !!!

Only go during the day and the meals are massive. The staff are really friendly.

Love it with a brilliant beer garden

We go every year for lunch before the beer festival. Over 20 of us. Only wished they had opened before 12.

We were recommended to eat here and were not disappointed. From the front it doesn't look much but there is an amazing space out the back. It's covered but outside so safe from the rain. On entering the pub the staff made us aware of the delay should we want food. We weren't in a rush so opted to stay. The food arrived quicker than said. There was a good selection on the menu and some great specials. The food was homemade and really tasty. Great portion sizes too. Will definitely be returning when move to the area

Lots going on here with entertainment at weekends with nice food and real ales. All ages welcome but younger clientele Friday and Saturday nights.

This place has come on so much, love the outside seating area and the food is great. Really good pricing and great portions, will definitely return soon. Wheelchair access is through the rear gate, there are ramped areas around the outdoor seating area.

We dropped in for a roast as my daughter has had it before and said it was good. It was my first time and it will be the last. The veg was overboiled and no taste; the meat was tough and fatty and the whole meal was tasteless. I don't think the chef seasoned anything. There was no crackling, and they did not offer us apple sauce. The service was okay, but the staff seemed to be in a world of their own. There was an older woman on the bar who was quite rude to staff and seemed stressed out in an environment that was not busy. To sum up, overpriced, tasteless and flat atmosphere. Also when I was at the bar, I stuck to the floor. Don't waste your money. We bumped into a friend who said the same.

Always a good selection of beers. The food is good with a wide selection and a carvery on Sundays.Look out for the live acts and DJs as they have a good selection play either inside or on their stage in the covered garden Post covid the atmosphere, service and vibe is as good as ever. Cheers

This pub has been in the hands of the same owner for quite some time, it was the place to go, and it still is on the weekends, but it's not as good as it used to be. It is quite expensive, even in happy hour. I will say the food is good, you know what you get there, but be prepared to spend a good few quid.

I was there for a weekly event they host in the upstairs room. Usually the staff are quite attentive but yesterday the young man was a little preoccupied. Granted he was serving another customer but he looked in my direction and didn't even acknowledge I was there. Over all the establishment has a good choice of beverage. They also serve food but haven't eaten here in a while.

The food here is Amazing. My friend ordered a Nut roast. The nut roast came on a large late in a dish Large Yorkshire pudding on side . Then large plate of vegetables on a separate plate. I had a Chinese chicken curry with egg fried rice and prawn crackers. Very large pub. Good choice of food menu. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pub highly recommend.

Lovely and warm ... the heat lamps are a bonus

We came in here as part of a visit to Newton Abbott going around a few pubs after a lovely meal out in the countryside. We wanted a pub with music and to have a few final drinks and the jolly farmer usually fills this brief it has friendly staff lots of space and especially good in the summer-when the outside space comes into its own so I was looking forward to finishing our evening here but - - - Something that bugs me beyond belief ( not the bar staff fault as it’s the pubs policy) a pub serving drinks in plastic glasses with the same prices really spoils the evening and drinking experience. When this is the policy indoors as well as outdoors it drives me to distraction. This would not happen in Europe who’s outdoor drinking culture we all love and I can name lots of places in the Bay that have significant outdoor spaces and don’t resort to plastic glasses. As another argument It’s not very eco friendly using all that plastic. However that said it’s still a good bar with music and had a good vibe, a great place for groups of friends of all ages and I still go back despite my gripe!!

Really good pub. This pub/club has aged beautifully with the years, adapting to exactly what was needed. At first you think its just a nice old fashioned pub, then you go to the toilet and hear pitbull, so you walk straight through into an extended bar, more seating and a dance floor with a full dj booth. Really good pub and definitely not too expensive considering the experience you get.
