Lovely pub and restaurant. We popped in on a cold and drizzly February day and only planned to have a drink. However, the menu was varied and food looked good so we had fish and chips. The food was really good. I also took a cake home with me and I highly recommend the mars chocolate brownie.

Was going to come here for food but the price of things was VERY off putting. £7.95 for a portion of onion rings on the side. £9.95 for a toastie. £20 for an 8oz RUMP steak is unjustifiable. Aesthetically the pub looks nice but for these prices I wouldn’t recommend.

Very overpriced food and drink, especially in the units outside. I paid almost 40 pound for 4 kids chicken meals. It's hard to recognise who is staff as there uniform is not distinctive at all, however they are very kind and hard working, but too overworked I think.

After heading out for a quick walk we decided an impromptu lunch was in order. Having walked past The Boathouse hundreds of times over the years we never ventured in. Well, that is going to change! We enjoyed an unexpectedly lovely 'light'(?!) lunch of chips & cheesy fries (both of which were very generous portions) followed by cream tea, with possibly the best warm scones I have had (& I am partial to cream teas so that's saying something!). The guy behind the bar was friendly, welcoming and only too happy to give us the source of the scones. It will definitely be a planned part of our future walks.

Called here on a blustery January afternoon ,so out of season. But a well furnished and serviced pub providing a very wide range if drinks snd food. Dog friendly which is always a winner for me. I don't have one, but I make furry friends where possible. Out for a post Christmas walk and play in the arcades which ended with a drink to fortify us. We found a big table and sat and chatted while having a game. We took our new card game. It was lively to all sit together in the warm and cosy having a pint etc. Perfect if you have been out dog walking or with the kiddies. Most people prob pay to park for the day, so what nicer on a chilly day than to use someone else's warm and sit and have a cozy hour with a Baileys coffee ;) other alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages available

We visited today and also a few days ago. The customer service was excellent on both occasions. The first time we were offered some warm chips for the baby girl in the party, who was eating some which had gone cold. Today we ordered an ice cream which had sauce which Frankie didn't like. Jackie was brilliant and changed the ice cream twice to get it right. Thank you so much the service during the festive period, when it has been very busy, has been exceptional. The food was great too...thank you

No breakfast choice..full english and that's it..food items were nice, but you don't get much for the price unfortunately..just shy of £11.00 each. 1 portion mushrooms ,( i had 4 button mushroom), 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 egg, portion of baked beans, 1 slice of toast, 1 hashbrown....tea/coffee/juice extra as they're not included.

I’ve always enjoyed a quick bite at The Bosthouse when visiting Dawlish Warren. The food is fine and the views from upstairs are great. However the customer service today made the experience unpleasant. The server upstairs took my order with no eye contact and no apology when she told me to go downstairs to order a milkshake. The service downstairs was dreadful - 2 members of staff, clearly overworked and fed up, but not hiding this from customers at all. A very long wait for a milkshake whilst one member of staff pointedly turned his back on us to sort out his working area. The other shrugging that he could only go so fast. The staff in no way deserved the horrible treatment and language from one customer, but management should be making sure their staff are not so demotivated that the sevice levels drop and they have to deal with this behaviour. My food arrived before I could return to the table with the milkshake in the end.

Good amount of seating over 2 floors including an outside terrace. The food was brought out quite quickly and the portion sizes were very good. The vegan burger was a bit lackluster for the price - to look at it on the plate it just looked like a powdered bun - nothing visibly sticking out or stacked within it. The kids meals were a good size too. Ordered two Long Island Iced Teas - not the best. Far too much coke added. For a family of 4 (2 adult meals, 2 kids meals, 2 cocktails and 2 kids mocktails) the bill came to £72.70

Stopped off for a drink after walking the local woodland. Lovely, friendly staff, great location right on the river, can imagine it would be lovely on a warm summer evening. The pub itself was lovely. Ended up having a simple brie and cheese baguette, but it was lovely served with a side salad and crisps. Would highly recommend a visit 😊 Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay but if the pub itself is anything to go by I wouldn't hesitate to book a room.
