The best restaurants serving British food in South West

Booked for 12pm but didn't get called up till nearly 1pm, service very slow, other people came in after us but were called up first, can never understand this and it always seems to happen to us. We have been loads of times over the years but won't be going back too soon!! Front of house lady very rude and young staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there and some were very miserable. Food ok but definitely not as good as previous visits.

We came here for a family meal us from wales and my wife's cousin lives local. 1st impressions warm with a warm welcome, kitchen wasn't open but bar was gave ti.e for a chat. Food came along NOW here is the twist . We had duck . Fish and lamb . My Lamb dish was outstanding proper lush as was the other 2 dishes .only complaint is they're could be more but that's me enjoying it so much . Complement to the chef enjoyed it very much

Definitely recommend as really friendly and welcoming. The staff Rob, Blake, Ceri and Morgan who served us were lovely, patient and friendly. Gorgeous food and cooked to perfection.

The food was all very good but £18.00 for burger bit over priced coleslaw was lovely but not enough of it served in egg cup needs to be bigger, puddings lovely,staff looked after us well but maybe they should be in uniform as didn't know staff from customers. Didn't agree with 10% service charge so ask for bill with this taken off as this can work out expensive if your bill is high. Overall nice place food nice although little expensive.

Lovely lunchtime meal at Harvester Bradley Stoke today. Our server, Berta, was so helpful and friendly as we were there with a very young baby. A lovely experience for the baby’s first restaurant visit!

We spent a lovely evening with a large group of friends having a meal here prior to a wedding the following day.

Frankly, it was disappointing. Almost 30 minute wait. The haddock can best be described as small considering it is priced at £7.70. Padstow town desperately needs some competition. Expect better for a chip shop on the coast. Look elsewhere if you can.

On entering the The Pig we were greeted with a very polite and friendly young lady, nice warm smile who checked us in and escorted us to an area with comfortable sofa and armchairs. We were very quickly given the drinks menus, left us to peruse these and shortly afterwards our drinks order was taken, Amy the restaurant manager asked us if everything was ok. A little while later were taken to our table in the restaurant and menus given to us. Water brought to the table very promptly. Given time to make our selection from the menu. The food that arrived was of the highest standard and was well presented and tasted amazing. It was my birthday and the thoughtful touch they brought out was a large plate with different chocolate treats and a Happy Birthday message piped on with white chocolate. We were all very impressed with everything. The staff were very attentive polite and professional. A big thanks has to go to Steff who made this happen. Will definitely be returning soon.

Firstly I love the online booking system and they always adhere to our request for ‘quiet corner’ we are three sisters and female relatives so not wanting to watch the football but I totally appreciate people love the football and it’s super that the matches are available but don’t impinge if you just want to chat. The staff at red lion Poole are ABSOUTLEY wonderful, efficient kind and friendly I can’t fault anything about the pub and the meals are truly exceptional value. I would like to add that the menu is not massively vegetarian friendly And perhaps they could swap out the sausages for the quorn sausages on the all day breakfast or the bangers and mash meal though to be fair I have not ever asked for this option. Besides the Mac and cheese is fantastic ! I’m of the opinion they might do this but it would be a nice option on the menu. Red lion poole is a very nice establishment well run and clean and I’m happy it’s my ‘local’

After a walk around Lands End we popped into this Inn for a drink and bite to eat with our 4 dogs. Fabulous find, and so glad we went. Lots of history surrounding the Inn and a covered ‘well’ with explanation on the wall. Staff very welcoming and friendly and food was excellent. Curried carrot and parsnip soup really went down well with myself, others had cheesy chips, loaded fries and jacket potato. Well worth a visit

Fantastic little pub, went for Sunday Lunch and must say it's the best I've had I a while.plenty on my plate. Dig friendly and I put my coat on the chair and my lab cuddled up next to me. Staff were absolutely fine about it and came and stroked her. Log burner was a lovely addition and kept it cosy. Staff very friendly and helpful too

Best pub in poole, go there everything we visit. Staff great, locals friendly and always something on.

Central location in Mevagissey. Proper pub serving a good range of freshly prepared food Loved eating there. Great atmosphere and really good value and excellent service from friendly staff. Dog friendly.

I NEVER do this but Sully was absolutely incredible. We came for a work event and there were over 50 of us. Absolutely amazing service and he even took a group photo of us when we left.

Haven't been here for a while and popped in for a drink. Lovely lively atmosphere. We didn't have food so can't review that.
