The best restaurants serving British food in Windsor and Maidenhead South East

Very disappointing, booked for a group of families to have dinner, when we got there was given 90 minute slot despite having been told it was no problem staying there for the evening. As the food was very late people ended up taking food home in a take away box as despite being told we would be able to move tables (as had booked!) they proceeded to forget to do so. 8 people standing around a two person table to finish drinks. Very disappointed and even more displeased by the lack of empathy by the staff. Other customers were amazing at us then being in their way and sympathised to our situation - clearly not the first time. Won’t be booking again - no point when it is not honoured!

The welcome, service, food and drink were all outstanding. The staff were attentive and all of the food was absolutely delicious. Try the Lychee sour, absolutely delicious and invented by the very talented bartender Krisztina. Hurley house is a lovely place to go for a special meal, I can’t recommend it enough.

This farm is the ultimate breakfast spot! The food is absolutely amazing—fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. You can really taste the difference in the locally sourced ingredients. But what makes it even better are the stunning views! Sitting outside with a perfect breakfast, looking out over the rolling fields and hills, is such a peaceful experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a hidden gem. Can’t recommend it enough! Go for the Farmers breakfast that will keep you going for the day!!!

Never disappoints. This cafe is busy for a reason, people just love it! The prices are good, the food delicious and the bottomless cups of tea.....just great.

Myself & 3 friends had a lovely lunch at the Bexley yesterday. The service & food were excellent. We sat outside as the weather was good. The barman came & took our drinks orders then our food order. Extensive menus with something for everyone. Will definitely be back soon. Can highly recommend.

Un pánico de última hora de 8 amigos buscando un lugar para tomar algo de comida y una bebida. Todo sucede por una razón y ahora puedo garantizar que volveremos. ¡Qué pub tan agradable en un entorno encantador! La comida era realmente a un precio razonable, así que tengo que decir que pensé lo peor, pero tenía hambre. Cuando la comida empezó a salir me di cuenta de que no tenía nada de qué preocuparme. Todo estaba arreglado con cuidado y atención y todo estaba caliente. No es una mala comida entre nosotros. Todos limpiamos nuestros platos. Normalmente no tomo fotos de mi almuerzo, pero el esfuerzo que se hizo para hacer esta ensalada de gambas y aguacate fue increíble. Puedo decirte que también sabía tan bien como parecía. También tuvimos un cumpleaños en nuestro grupo y todo el pub se unió con la canción de cumpleaños. En general una experiencia encantadora y siento que he encontrado una joya de un lugar.

My mother and I had a delicious lunch at Waltham Place. It’s a set menu and everything was delicious and the service very warm and friendly. We enjoyed a very informative and enjoyable 2 hour private tour (£40 total for a group of up to 4 people) by one of the estate’s very experienced gardeners, Tim. The gardens are stunning and set against the backdrop of the beautiful house. We had a fantastic afternoon and will definitely come back.

Our local shop. While we do not have fish and chips often when we do its always from Toppers. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Often there is a short wait while food is cooked, which I see as a good thing! Food is very good. Hot and great flavour. Recommended

The Thatched Cottage in Maidenhead is a real gem! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The atmosphere was fantastic, creating a truly memorable dining experience. If you’re in the Maidenhead area, I highly recommend stopping by it’s a great place to visit!

We had a lovely experience at this tea room, they were welcoming and sat us inside quickly. We ordered some sandwiches, victoria sponge cake and cream tea.... Everything tasted quite good except the scone .. Scone was a huge let down...it was like eating bread or bun...wasn't a crumbly soft scone that I have gotten used to eating in other places. Otherwise the service and ambience was good with a view of the castle... Lovely outdoor sitting area ..

On booking my festive afternoon tea I explained that I did not want the champagne. My request was granted and I was offered soft drinks. This was confirmed by telephone conversation. On arrival and at our table with my family I was told that I had to have the champagne because I had booked the festive afternoon tea. I felt very embarrassed, especially when the manager was called over. I explained that on booking my festive afternoon tea I was told that I could request soft drinks instead. In the end they let my family and I order fruit juices, coffee beer and tea! My tea was also cold, my first cup had bits of tea swimming around, my second cup was also cold. I do like extra milk, but the tea was cold before hand. I agree with another reviewer that the decoration was very poor. We did not have carol singers only the pianist. The sandwiches were ok but not as good as they used to be. Our left overs were bagged up nicely but our scones were missing! I have also been coming here for several years. I’m afraid I shall not be visiting again.

This is a fantastic venue. The food is really well presented and tastes fantastic. We used this venue for our wedding some years ago and have returned with our teenage children for a New Years Eve meal. The staff are first class and the facilities are too. The prices are reasonable for dining out but the food delivers beyond the usual Casual Dining Experience. I really recommend Kempton’s at Sunningdale for a top class dining experience with wonderful intimate settings. Thanks to all

We took advantage of their August offer for Afternoon Tea, it was a splendid tea but marred a little by the manager who tried to overcharge us by over £20.00. This was despite having been presented with an itemised printed bill from the hotel, which clearly stated the correct outstanding price to pay. All was eventually sorted out, but it was rather embarrassing as there were other diners in the vicinity.
