This is my second time at Coworth Park for afternoon tea. I booked the festive tea so we could experience the carol singers. Sadly the entire experience was quite bland and disappointing. This is the second restaurant this Christmas where we have had to wait for our table beyond our reservation time. The layout of the drawing room is all wrong and they haven't made the best use of the space. My partner was basically looking at a closed door for the two hours. If he wanted a view of the tree or pianist he had to turn around and have his back to me. It would have made more sense for the huge tree to have been placed where we were sat and our table to be where the tree was. The room itself is very bland with minimal artwork and a poor layout of furniture. Another reason I chose coworth was for the fireplaces. Neither were on during our tea and we're blocked by seats so could not be seen. This adds to the cosiness but sadly were not in use. The carol singers would pass from room to room which was not really ideal and appeared very messy. The pianist was playing but with many many breaks so it seemed like he was only there for a short period of the tea. The food itself was ok, I've been to Dorchester and the sandwiches are much better. The fillings were bland and not tasty at all. We had booked a champagne tea. We were half way through our food and I realised that we had not been offered the champagne so I had to ask for it. As for the tea, most places leave the teapot on the table so you can refill your cup but the waitress put it on another table. We had to wait ages to get her attention and by the time she refilled my cup it was almost cold. It was a very disappointing experience and my partner and I both agreed that we will not return. We have many choices in this area and I chose coworth due to the good experience we had last year. Sadly it has changed this year and I will choose another venue for my next afternoon tea. The standard has slipped considerably and I think it was a waste of money. I also think that the afternoon tea trays are not practical, the waitress put ours in the middle of the table and I could not see my partner so had to move it.

One of our favourite places for afternoon tea. We visited to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and received a lovely complimentary raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. The service was exceptional from our arrival when we received Champagne from the maitre de that had been pre booked as a surprise from our daughter. Beautiful table in the conservatory. The tea itself was a delightful Coronation tea with delicious sandwiches, scones and wonderful cakes. Our waitress, Anjelik was extremely attentive, friendly and excellent at her job, nothing was too much trouble for her. Look forward to visiting again

We had an amazing Afternoon Tea in the Drawing room at Coworth Park, Ascot. It was a lovely experience and we were attentively served by Angelique. Angelique was so professional, kind and attended to our every need. We had endless rounds of sandwiches and the cakes, scones & little pastries were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The staff can accomodate Vegetarian & other dietary requirements with no fuss. The ambience & setting at Coworth Park is truly unique. We were allowed to wander around the grounds and explore the vicinity of the mansion house. A beautiful setting & a memorable experience with delicious food & friendly staff. We shall be back soon.

A consistently exceptional afternoon tea experience. The elegant drawing room, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and wonderful service from attentive and informative staff members in addition to the delicious food and drink, makes this an experience to remember. We have been a few times now and every time it has been remarkable. The sandwich flavours and freshness surpass any afternoon tea I’ve had before and a plentiful supply, should you wish for more you just have to ask. The cakes and patisserie selection are incredible, special mention to a chestnut tart that was without doubt the nicest patisserie I have ever eaten. The scones are fresh, warm and moreish, lucky that these too are replenished at your request. Would highly recommend and return.

When my daughter booked as we don’t drink alcohol, they offered to do the tea for the price without champagne. However they charged us full price. They argued that this could not have been agreed. Which implied we were lying!! Also we had a toddler 18 month of age, and were asked to ‘keep it down’. Although he is good and doesn’t make noise apart from having a little musical toy which he used twice for a couple of minutes. In did not disturb anyone as it was quiet and we were in the corner in addition there was music playing in the background. Don’t feel this was a child friendly place. Therefore we were left feeling rather let down, not a good feeling when you have wanted to have a special memory with your family!

Celebrated signing our marriage certificate with afternoon tea at Coworth Park. I’ve never quite experienced service like it, the food was delicious, the gardens were exceptionally well manicured and very well priced for what you get for your money. Something everyone has to do once in their lives (if not every day!) thank you to the Coworth Park team and a special shout-out to our waitress on the day she was amazing (but we’ve forgotten her name).

Chic, luxurious venue. Sweeping driveway through huge, stunning grounds dotted with figurative sculptures. Buggies and footmen. Attentive, lovely restaurant staff. Everything you would expect from a 5* hotel in terms of interior decor, space, cleanliness, infrastructure, staffing. Glorious panoramic views from the terrace of The Drawing Room. Space heaters (and blankets available). Live piano music in The Drawing Room itself. Five choices of small plate, large plate and puddings on the menu. Our choices of Halibut, Burger, Fish and chips were all delicious. The lemon cheesecake was sublime. This was a lovely memorable evening, and we were really well looked after. We booked into The Barn restaurant as a special treat for for my mother's birthday. The booking was made months in advance, and subsequently due to a massive corporate booking we were contacted and asked if we would mind being relocated to The Drawing Room. At all times the reschedulling was handled extreemly professionally. Each and every member of staff I spoke to from the Dorchester Group was thoughtful, accomodating and polite. I felt well looked after. There was a reminder telephone call a few days before the meal. It was only then when I looked more closely at the pictures on the website I saw there are low tables in The Drawing Room, and was worried about how comfortable that would be for my mum, who is in a wheelchair. I was reassured my mother's mobility issues would be fully catered for re: access and comfort /ergonomics. The maître d', Seb, ensured continuity of care, and extended his shift by three hours to oversee our visit. We were offered and accepted a complimentary bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne for the inconvenience caused by the relocation.

My boyfriend surprised and treated me with my first ever afternoon tea experience here at coworth park. We were welcomed and seated to our table which was lovely. However I felt completely overlooked and slightly uncomfortable as our waitress was not attentive and to be honest completely ignored us throughout our tea. Once seated we waited 10 minutes before my boyfriend actually asked for our menu. However there were two other afternoon teas happening and they were constantly being served whilst we just sat there in the middle wondering why we were being ignored. We were served our afternoon and champagne. However my boyfriend was so embarrassed that we were not served our tea we ordered I had to step in and ask where our tea was. Once I asked my our tea the waitress said oh yeah, and then topped up the two other people’s tea and didn’t rush to grab our tea. By the time we finished the food and cakes our tea arrived which seemed pointless as it was after.Considering there were only 3 lots of people having afternoon tea and I am baffled as to why we were completely over looked, is this because we are a young couple and by the far the you youngest that afternoon. As you are a high end establish I am really disappointed in my first afternoon tea and my standards were a lot higher. Having said that the two young ladies who served us drinks on the terrace lived up to the service I had imagined.

My family have visited Coworth Park on several occasions to celebrate special birthdays and Christmas. The cream tea is wonderful - I would rate it on a par with The Ritz in London. They supply wonderful sandwiches, and cater for vegetarian and vegan as well. The selection of teas caters for all tastes and the selection of delecious cakes is wonderful. They also serve champagne if required. The seating is arranged so that your group has its own intimate area and usually there is a pianist playing creating a very relaxed atmosphere. The grounds are beautiful too. It is a hidden gem.

The staff were very friendly and professional, however we found the afternoon tea a bit 'Lacklustre'! The choice of actual teas were great, but the actual selection of sandwiches and cakes were very boring and generic- salmon, cucumber, beef and chicken sandwiches that were all very bland, followed by scones and some mini cakes/pastries which apart from the lemon macaroon where again very tasteless. It was such a shame as the actual hotel looked stunning, as did the spa and restaurants. We will def come and stay and try out your other facilities, however we would not have afternoon tea again!

On arrival very pleasant waitress asked if there were any dietary requirements and again we stated one vegetarian. Tea arrived and food arrived (except for the vegetarian selection) we waited and waited. Kept asking and kept being told they were on their way... Over 20 minutes later and patience wearing thin.. We asked and was told 'the kitchen is busy' (not what any diner needs or wants to hear) and that it takes time as the sandwiches 'were being freshly made' aren't they all freshly made ??? us non veggies were on our second order of sandwiches at this point - were they not freshly made? Then to top it all off there was a fly in the strawberry jam!!! We had the service charge removed - which we would not have paid anyway Won't be returning.

We noticed a large wedding function on the lawns but this did not impact on the first class service that we received. We were seated promptly and shown the extensive range of teas available. I opted for the Coworth own afternoon tea blend which was very good. The selection of finger sandwiches included, ham, beef, cheese and salmon, very fresh with quality ingredients. The scones were warm and not too large with delicious conserves. Exquisite desserts and very nicely presented. The service was faultless with our tea cups refilled every time they needed to be, the waiting staff are very attentive but not obtrusive. We were offered extra sandwiches and cakes without asking and at no extra cost.To complete the experience, a harpist played a medley of tunes including "Frozen" and other Disney numbers as well as more classic pieces. It's not cheap but you are paying for a fine experience in opulent surroundings, well worth a visit to see how a proper afternoon tea ought to be.

I received a voucher for afternoon tea for my birthday and booked it many months in advance. When we arrived we were shown to a table in a dark corner. I'd have thought that by booking early we would have had a decent table. The food was ok - the same standard as many top London hotels I have visited for afternoon tea. The venue was fully booked and the atmosphere was very noisy and bustley - not at all charming and relaxing. It all seemed very conveyor-belt like. Parking was a problem - the car parks are small and dispersed throughout the vast grounds so the nearest space was quite a walk away from the entrance - not good in heels. I have been to this restaurant a few times before for lunch during the week and had a much better experience as it was less busy and more relaxing. I can't recommend the set times for afternoon tea.

Fabulous service, afternoon tea rather more sparse than I remember from a few years back. Vegetarian requested sandwiches totally unimaginative. One thin slice of cucumber sat sadly on its own in one finger sandwich and one emaciated slice of tomato in one other. Very. Very disappointing. Miniature cakes beautifully presented but again, not as adventurous as I remember them being, eg rhubarb jelly? Positive side - exquisite range of tea, spacious room, easy parking, lovely views.

The massive windows provide wonderful views of the rolling acres of grounds. We had a lunch of cauliflower soup and vegetable soup then shared the lobster sandwich. Everything had fabulous flavor and the soups warmed us on the chilly day. Our server was an adorable Irish lass who was a delight to converse with. We also talked to a local couple who come to the hotel often and were having the traditional afternoon tea which they highly recommended. The décor is light and lovely and the service so attentive – as it is throughout the entire hotel. We also had a drink late one evening next to the fire. It was a very cozy atmosphere with a piano player for added entertainment. Also to note that night, there was a party of six or seven gentlemen who had quite an extensive meal, but what was impressive was that after they departed, and had left a lot of dishes, cutlery, and glasses on the tables, several staff members immediately bounded out of nowhere to clear the area and get it back into pristine shape in a matter of minutes if not seconds. It was impressive, but having seen this entire hotel’s staff in action for a few days, it wasn’t surprising.

The service was fantastic, tea was constantly replenished as was offers for food, but we were very full. At the end they brought out a special cake with a candle for my sister which we got packed up they also gave her some extra bits to take home, which we thought was a nice touch. My only gripe was I had noticed that one of their restaurants, The Barn, I believe has a halal menu, so when I booked I did ask if it was possible to have halal meat options, which they said was fine. It created the impression that they would be making sandwiches with halal meat in, which we were quite excited about because it is quite rare to get this and was a reason I chose this venue. But instead we just got fish and veggie options which is something we could have got anywhere. So my only feedback would be to be clear that by saying you cater to a halal diet does not mean you will be providing halal meat, but that are able to substitute the meat options.Other than this it was a really special afternoon in a beautiful venue. It is one of the pricer afternoon teas outside of London, but perfect for an occasion.

I booked online to take my mother to Cowarth Park hotel for afternoon tea on Mothering Sunday. Staff greeted us as soon as we approached the doors. We were escorted to the drawing room. We were promptly shown to our table. Our waiter, Alessandro, was delightful, a naturally warm and friendly person with excellent product knowledge and an eye for detail when serving our afternoon tea. He was attentive and helped to make this an extra special occassion. The manager, a very charming lady, very kindly took a photo on my iphone of my mother and I. There is an extensive choice of teas and coffees. Sandwiches were plentiful and a good balance between savoury and sweet items was offered. I had a glass of champagne, included in the price, my mother had the non alcoholic cocktail. We had some pastries left, staff put them in a presentation box to take home. All mothers were given a miniture daffodil plant to take home. This was a truely memorable Mother's Day for my mother. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms have chandeliers, incredible paintings and are tastefully furnished. I will definitely return to this hotel and can unreservedly recommend Cowarth.

Whilst waiting for another guest having a riding lesson on site, my friend and I enjoyed tea and a girlie catch up by the fire. There are 3 places where you can sit quietly in comfortable and intimate surroundings, and the tea is served in gorgeous silver teapots etc. Afternoon tea looked sumptous and at half the price of the same thing in central London, so I will be back with a group of mums shortly! Plenty of parking and the staff are very friendly.

I had previously visited the restaurant at Coworth Park and was disappointed but the afternoon tea I had on this occasion was very good. The Christmas themed mini deserts were amazing and the atmosphere was so relaxed with the pianist in the background. The setting in the grounds is beautiful and and the staff very polite. It was difficult to get staff attention but this was understandable as it was very busy. It's a little pricey but well worth it for a special treat. On a small negative, the guest broadband was awful but this isn't really what we visited for.

A special birthday treat ..... Afternoon Tea at Coworth Park was stunning. An amazing selection of tea offered the opportunity to try a tea one would not usually sample. This was then followed by an amazing selection of finger sandwiches, warm scones with two preserves and a really generous amount of clotted cream and an assortment of delicious mini pastries all presented on a three tier silver server. Perfect.... and throughly recommended.

Afternoon tea is always beautiful here and the Christmas version is no exception. Cosy fires, (which did actually go out during the afternoon), harpist playing, carol singing and later in the afternoon the great pianist began playing. This occasion was a special birthday treat for our daughter. We were initially well looked after but later the staff shift changed and we almost felt forgotten about. Our teas were not changed and served a little stewed, nor were we asked of we'd like another blend. The staff arrived to sing Happy Birthday to my daughter and I missed it as I had gone to the Ladies! Cannot complain about food but on this occasion, we really felt the service was not up to its usual standard.

Today our lovely daughter and grand daughter took us to Coworth Park Ascot for their 'Christmas Carols Afternoon Tea' in the Drawing Room.It was such a lovely treat for us.We were warmly welcomed and shown to our reserved places in the Drawing Room, where they had a comfortable upright armchair, requested by our daughter, waiting for my husband. We were looked after throughout the afternoon by Gaetan who could not have been more courteous and attentive. He explained the menus in great detail. Took the various requests with charm, intelligence and respectful humour. He had a gift for making each and every person feel special and unique. ( As did all the rest of the Staff. It contributed to a warm, relaxing and tranquil atmosphere."Windsor Harmonics", The A Capello Group who sang a varied programme of Carols, both Religious and Secular were so very enjoyable to listen to. They are clearly extremely talented. They helped to contribute to the lovely atmosphere. This is a visit which will stay with us throughout the coming year as being memorable and enjoyable. We are fortunate to have been given such a wonderful pre -Christmas present by our daughter and grand daughter.A special thank-you too to Gaetan whose attentiveness and gentle perceptive humour made us feel so special.Coworth Park Management, you have a treasure there. I booked afternoon tea as a treat for my wife's birthday and felt very smug that I had. The drive into the estate grounds is beautiful, really lovely countryside and lots of interesting buildings on the way to the main mansion house. Parking was easy and the welcome when we stepped inside was warm and friendly. It's a wonderfully designed and decorated interior, a perfect mix of old world luxury with plenty of modern, tasteful touches, lots of amazing artwork on the walls and dotted around. The Drawing Room where tea was served was perfectly laid out to give each table an almost private feel and the pianist adds to the calming atmosphere. The tea itself lived up to the expectation set by the surroundings and every item was fresh and tasty. The sandwiches all had a perfect amount of filling and the chicken rosemary ones were my favourite, despite being a red meat fanatic! The scones were light and crumbly and the pastries were flavoured so well but did not linger through over sweetness. They have an impressive array of teas and good coffee, refilled frequently. We took our 3 year old which was no issue when mentioned at booking, he's pretty well behaved in all fairness but there is always the fear of being seen as a nuisance but this was in no way a problem for the staff or other guests (as far as we could tell). A wonderful young lady named Anna brought him over some felt-tips and paper and our server, Jasmine(?) was so kind to him and explained anything he asked (he's at the "but why, what's that, why's that" stage), he even went off with her to fetch the card machine when it came to paying. I'd like to say a huge thanks to both these ladies and also, each person that we interacted with was friendly from arriving, eating to leaving. We'll be back to try the restaurant next.

I would like to review the Drawing Room Afternoon tea. I visited yesterday, 4th November with my sister as a birthday treat. The staff were attentive, friendly and very professional, you should be proud of them. The tea itself was delicious, we both tried teas we have not tasted before and both of them were very good as were the sandwiches, scone and cakes, altogether a lovely tea, now looking for an excuse to come back.I also loved the artwork around the reception area; but my biggest surprise was the beautiful wildflower meadow, even on a grey day, something else you should also be proud of creating.

A simply beautiful afternoon tea, would highly recommend and made even better by the stunning setting and excellent service. Not quite 5 star though, due to the fact that we were advised we had to finish relatively quickly due to another sitting. We had almost finished, but it would have been nice to have stayed a while longer drinking tea and relaxing. This should be advised at the point of booking. Overall though a lovely experience.

Four of us visited Coworth Park for the first time today for afternoon tea. We were so impressed with everything, from the choice of teas to the champagne to the surroundings - oh how lovely is the wildflower meadow! But we were most taken by the excellent service, efficient, attentive and friendly without being over familiar or patronising. And the tea stayed hot throughout - sadly something we find less frequently than we used to. Full marks! We hope to visit again.

In mid-September we had our fourth Afternoon Tea at Coworth Park, and once again, it was great! A variety of little sandwhiches (veggie on request), warm scones with their delicious home-made jam -- I love the gooseberry one -- and most unusual cakes. Have you ever seen a chcolate teapot? And if you need more, you just have to ask.The staff are the most polite and caring I've ever found, and there is even a car valet service when you arrive. We have been to the Drawing Room four times now and it's not just the tea which is so alluring. In the winter months there is a roaring fire but in the summer you can overlook an expanse of field sewn with colourful wild flowers, where you can wander around pathways through them all or, to complete the afternoon's visit, you can get a buggy ride around the very expansive grounds. We shall be going back for another Afternoon Tea next Julyn to see the wild flowers -- or maybe sooner!

The service provided by the staff was second to none, especially Elliot who greeted us and made us feel very welcome. The surroundings were beautiful and I would certainly recommend Coworth Park and will be visting again. The service provided in many hotels and restaurants is often not up to the standard I would expect, but at Coworth Park it exceeds all expectations. We visited Coworth Park today as I treated my mum to a yummy afternoon tea for her 50th Birthday! We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend the afternoon tea and the hotel itself :-) The staff in the drawing room went above there needs to accommodate us, they made sure we was happy and had plenty of food! The young man who was looking after us kept our sandwiches topped up along with out tea and made sure we was happy in our surroundings e.g correct room temperature and we was lucky to sit next to the fire and he made sure it was kept lit. He done an amazing job and is a great asset to your hotel you should be very proud of all your staff! We was made to feel very welcome in your hotel. The afternoon was one of the best I've had and I've had quite a few (love an afternoon tea) the sandwiches where very yummy and was nice to have some more as not all hotels are happy to other more sandwiches so this sold it to me!The cakes where amazing all tasted great and presentation was at the highest standard as well. There was lots of teas to choose from which is good to see and we had the coconut, vanilla and strawberry and kiwi tea all tasted good and the strawberry and kiwi tea was very light and fruity so went well with the cakes. At the end of our afternoon tea they brought out a little birthday cake for my mum with a candle in which was a very nice touch and my mum was very pleased with It. I would like to thank all the staff for there hard work and excellent customer service skills today and for making our first visit to your hotel a good experience and will definitely be coming back soon for another afternoon tea with my friends and family. Thank you

Lovely little tea room near Windsor Castle, gorgeous fruit scone with the afternoon tea warmed, with the right amount of jam and cream. Choice of tea aswell, and I really enjoyed the chai. My partner said one of the best lattes he has had and the chicken, tomato and mayo sandwich was good value for money and nicely filled. It was my partners birthday and I had mentioned when we entered and the lovely ladies in the cafe bought over a slice of chocolate fudge cake and sang happy birthday to him.
