Lovely little tea room near Windsor Castle, gorgeous fruit scone with the afternoon tea warmed, with the right amount of jam and cream. Choice of tea aswell, and I really enjoyed the chai. My partner said one of the best lattes he has had and the chicken, tomato and mayo sandwich was good value for money and nicely filled. It was my partners birthday and I had mentioned when we entered and the lovely ladies in the cafe bought over a slice of chocolate fudge cake and sang happy birthday to him. Very lovely gesture and not in the slightest expected. Thank you very much for making our visit extra special. Highly recommend a visit.

Came for a snack & drink after a walk around and it was exactly what we needed. They offer afternoon tea at 3 different price brackets, the cheapest being 10.95 - looks great. We went for hot drink and slice of cake. They also have a gluten free apple pie. Worth a trip if in the area!

I don't give them 0 because you can't, but it seems like a disaster to me. Bad service, the two ladies who are there give terrible service, you can see how they treat other co-workers badly and I have been able to witness that in few places. Please, if you don't want to work, retire and give the opportunity to people who do want to work. The food meh, it's not as good as people say. I was guided by the reviews you have, the restaurant has a good location, it is normal that they do not care about the service they offer since it is a place for tourists and then not to mention that they do not explain the menu to you and if you want to buy a fish dish to share since it is a portion for two people, they tell you that you have to buy one dish per person, but you cannot stay to eat there, we wanted to try several things, it is not only fish and I don't see anything wrong with being able to share. We were several people and we ordered a lot by the way. Greetings and I hope that you improve the service and that the two ladies who are there are called to their attention so that they have more charisma, we are people, not animals.

I usually don’t write reviews but I had such a negative experience that wanted to warn people. I was sitting outside and went inside to use the toilet. One of the women working there prevented me from going in a very rude way saying toilet is only for customers. I explained to her I am a customer and she still insisted and even demanded to show her where I am seated. I have never ever experienced such a rudeness in a restaurant before and needless to say I will never eat here again. Not to mention that food wasn’t good at all. Especially cheesy mash was awful.

0 stars from me: Very unaccommodating staff. We were prepared to have our pants pulled down and pay £33 for three teas and three scones (3x cream teas) However, our boy wanted a slightly more expensive milkshake instead of a tea (we obviously offered to pay the 95p difference) This was a huuuuuuge problem to Clarence Tea Room as 'the cream teas only come with tea, coffee or a soft drink' After a discussion with two members of staff and several refusals later, Clarence Tea Room finally agreed to our original request of a milkshake instead of a tea and we pay the 95p difference... We were disgruntled by this point, so we left unable to review the food. Since reading other reviews on the food, I'm so happy this was the case. Phew.

What a great surprise! Always wanted to treat my family for a nice afternoon tea. Initially booked one for London over our holiday however during our day trip to Windsor the weather turned out to be a little rainy. We then decided to look for a place where we could have an afternoon tea and the Clarence came up on the suggestions. It did not disappoint. Tasty, casual but still with a touch of very old school grandmas house. The teas were very tasty. The scones were to die for! And the price was very cheap too! If you’re looking for a place around Windsor for an afternoon tea I highly recommend this! PS: the Victoria sponge cake was the best I’ve ever tried!!!

I visited this café near Windsor Castle with the expectation of enjoying a classic cream tea. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The scone served to me was unexpectedly frozen inside, which was a surprise I did not anticipate from a place that offers cream tea. Although they did reheat it in the microwave after I expressed my concern, the quality did not improve significantly. The tea itself was also underwhelming. The staff did not acknowledge the issue with the freshness of the scones, which added to the dissatisfaction. I refrained from making a fuss out of consideration for the pleasant day out with my friends. Overall, I was hoping for a fresh, delightful treat next to such an iconic location but was let down by the quality and service.

We booked months in advance as part of an experience for a milestone birthday. We arrived 5 minutes before the booked time and said that we had a reservation. The disgruntled waitress looked at her screen and seemed to not find it. She then grunted at me for the booking form, and then seemed to find the reservation. There were no tables with a reserved plaque on, so we had to go to a table at the rear of the cafe which had not been cleared. It was hurriedly cleaned but when we sat down the table was sticky. At this point Miss Grumpy waitress caught my attention to say that there was a table clear at the front of the cafe should we want to move there, which we did. When we sat at the table this was no better than the one that we had just left. Again, hurriedly cleared with sticky table. After we sat, the table was started to be set, which should have been done as part of the reservation. We were asked if we had any food allergies, and we did not. After a little while two cappuccino cups arrived with a tea bag in each one, then one tea pot with nearly hot water. Then the Prosecco arrived. What a laugh. It was cheap sparkling wine, and we barely had half a glass each. Next arrived the cream tea which consisted of flat skinny sandwiches of cream cheese and cucumber and egg mayo. There was one scone each with a pot of jam and a carton of cream which was not even served in a pot. So say that we were disappointed is a gross understatement. There could have been more served as a cream tea which makes the price extortionate, for example a couple of strawberries, pastries, cakes, macarons (as they had them in their display cabinet) etc. We have had better cream teas at our local garden centre. Grossly overpriced. Service non-existent. Atmosphere terrible. To give it a one star is extremely generous. Will never visit again.

While there, we watched staff turn many groups of 2 out of the inside to sit in the cold and rain, stating there was “a large group of Spanish” coming in. As the groups of 2 left they were followed by groups of 3 or 4 and they were promptly seated. Also, the older woman on staff was rather rude, curt and inattentive. We stopped at Clarence for lunch while visiting Windsor and we can’t say enough about this restaurant. It was highly recommended by one of the guards at the entrance to Windsor Castle and she was so right! We had the chicken, mushroom, and cheese crepes and one of the fancy cream teas with sandwiches, and everything was wonderful. The friendliness of the owners and staff must be mentioned! They were so accommodating and personable.

This quaint sidewalk tea place was wonderful. The afternoon tea was everything we expected it to be with a wonderful atmosphere. The soldiers marched down the street a block away and the proprietor saved our table while we ran down to watch. I highly recommend this little shop.

We had afternoon tea with prosecco as part of a gift voucher. The sandwiches and scones were delicious and well presented. The location and restaurant is very quaint and comfortable with outdoor seating too. The staff were lovely. People seemed to be getting served quickly. A nice relaxing treat after visiting the castle.

Fantástica a simpatia do Alberto. Café excelente antes da visita ao Castelo de Windsor. Voltamos depois da visita para um snack rápido. Mais uma vez a simpatia e a qualidade do atendimento foi espectacular. As tostas estavam excelentes e com qualidade.

We found this tea room via a gluten free blog. And we are so glad we did. Lovely, helpful staff, lots of gluten free options, and a relatively well priced (considering its position) sweet and savoury afternoon tea for me (non coeliac). My daughter’s chicken and bacon sandwich was delicious, and definitely didn’t skimp on the filling. And we sat outside, with the view of the castle wall behind us. Bravo for a great hospitality service. Many thanks

Unwelcoming atmosphere, with quite loud, rude staff. Afternoon tea was a great disappointment with no cake offered, just doughy scones.

Cute tea room on a cobbled street right by Windsor castle. A LOVELY surprise only steps away from the hordes of tourists when our party of 6 needed a break from the cold. Lovely cream tea and sandwiches.

Certains membres du personnel hautains face aux clients, une quantité de nourriture qui laisse à désirer...heureusement que l'ambiance et le cadre sont bons.

We called 20 mins before coming for an afternoon tea. They asked us to walk in and check fornseat availability. We arrive and they say they do not have any seats for us since they are expecting a large belgian group. Why couldn't they just tell us this 20 mins ago instead of wasting our time?

This is my second time at Coworth Park for afternoon tea. I booked the festive tea so we could experience the carol singers. Sadly the entire experience was quite bland and disappointing. This is the second restaurant this Christmas where we have had to wait for our table beyond our reservation time. The layout of the drawing room is all wrong and they haven't made the best use of the space. My partner was basically looking at a closed door for the two hours. If he wanted a view of the tree or pianist he had to turn around and have his back to me. It would have made more sense for the huge tree to have been placed where we were sat and our table to be where the tree was. The room itself is very bland with minimal artwork and a poor layout of furniture. Another reason I chose coworth was for the fireplaces. Neither were on during our tea and we're blocked by seats so could not be seen. This adds to the cosiness but sadly were not in use. The carol singers would pass from room to room which was not really ideal and appeared very messy. The pianist was playing but with many many breaks so it seemed like he was only there for a short period of the tea. The food itself was ok, I've been to Dorchester and the sandwiches are much better. The fillings were bland and not tasty at all. We had booked a champagne tea. We were half way through our food and I realised that we had not been offered the champagne so I had to ask for it. As for the tea, most places leave the teapot on the table so you can refill your cup but the waitress put it on another table. We had to wait ages to get her attention and by the time she refilled my cup it was almost cold. It was a very disappointing experience and my partner and I both agreed that we will not return. We have many choices in this area and I chose coworth due to the good experience we had last year. Sadly it has changed this year and I will choose another venue for my next afternoon tea. The standard has slipped considerably and I think it was a waste of money. I also think that the afternoon tea trays are not practical, the waitress put ours in the middle of the table and I could not see my partner so had to move it.

We took advantage of their August offer for Afternoon Tea, it was a splendid tea but marred a little by the manager who tried to overcharge us by over £20.00. This was despite having been presented with an itemised printed bill from the hotel, which clearly stated the correct outstanding price to pay. All was eventually sorted out, but it was rather embarrassing as there were other diners in the vicinity.

Kempton's was the perfect venue for the recent Celebration of Life reception for my late aunt. From initial contact, visiting to discuss the event, and on the day service nothing could have been better. The staff were all pleasant, efficient and helpful, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was 'just right'. I'm sure a few of our guests who hadn't experienced the delight of Kempton's previously will be visiting again soon - I certainly plan to do just that!
