The Fifield Inn in Windsor and Maidenhead

Went here with my family for sunday dinner there was 6 of us, i had roast chicken which was lovery and ice cream for a pudding . The staff were lovery and very helpful not sure if there was a childerns menu as we had a 2y old with us but i hope we all go back

Great food, great service and amazing people. I would highly recommend this lovely pub to everyone I see. From start to finish me and my family were impressed

Amazing atmosphere, been down there a good few times now and each visit is just as welcoming. They have a great selection of drinks and the food is amazing. Would highly recommend going down for a Sunday lunch or even if its to sit in their lovely beer garden. Would advise ordering the pork belly bites, delicious!!!

I don’t like to write reviews like this but I feel I have to on this occasion. This pub has been destroyed!!! Not a patch on its former traditional self . Came here for a quick meal and from the start it was freezing cold inside, everyone wearing coats , even the waitress had a scarf wrapped round her . The place was like a community centre . Kids screaming and running around . Foul language coming from the bar area, and any kind of service for food was extremely slow . Wobbly old tables and just all round nasty place . What a missed opportunity to make a really nice country pub . Highly NOT recommended.

Had a beautiful meal this evening with my family! Market fish was devine & so was our pie of the day! Staff friendly & attentive. Good background music & beautiful gold lamps on every table! Definitely returning!

Sadly in attentive staff, drinks didn't arrive after a 10 minute wait so had to chase them up, when the food was ordered only 3 of the 4 meals arrived so the other person had to wait at least another 10+ minutes for their Pizza (but no charge). Food was average & I felt embarrassed as I said a country pub has to be doing something right to survive in the current climate and I got friends to drive from High Wycombe & George Green to meet here. We won't be returning anytime soon.

Amazing food, loved it, very nice atmosphere and great staff

This inn is an amazing place to eat, and the service was incredible! Maria, our server, was inn-credible and her jokes were top notch! The burgers were yummy and the drinks were very fancy. I would 100% recommend. The pictures are of a local leprechaun enjoying a brownie, and a very happy lady with her apperol spritz.

The Fifield Inn is worth a visit! We visited to celebrate two family birthdays. There were three generations of the family present. During the visit the service was very good. Staff were friendly and efficient. The food was all delicious and there was something for everyone. Portion size was generous and meat was tender and meals looked fresh and were well presented. I can recommend the chicken wings in BBQ sauce as a starter and the baby back ribs for a main course. The pork belly bites and ox cheek chili was delicious too.

Lovely little pub. Community vibe. Food is lovely, not been disappointed thus far. Staff and service has always been really good. Recently we had a Sunday roast and it has been one of the best we have had in a long while!

We ate here yesterday as a large group having pre-ordered via email from a set menu.On arrival we were told that they had not received our order and the menu we chose from was not correct. The lady who took our orders was curt and impatient and not personable at all. Some items on the menu were apparently sharing items but it did not state this and food choices were questioned in a rude manner. When the food arrived it was totally delicious and the serving staff were lovely and helpful Unfortunately our food order was not correct and it took quite a long time for the correct order to arrive. Our second round of drinks was not delivered fully and it was necessary to remind staff we were still waiting for some items, The overall experience was disappointing and we were left feeling that the lady serving us may be in the wrong profession. We are unlikely to return

If your reason for visiting this pub was the beautiful menu on the website - especially the well labelled dietaries catering to many diverse needs - then don’t waste your time. The staff said the menu on the site is a sample menu, but it’s an outright folly… the real menu leaves a lot to be desired and is distinctly below average. And the ambience was lacking, leaving no reason to stay.

The best French onion soup I have ever had. This is a dish I always order if it’s on the menu.

The Fifield Inn has restored my faith in pub food! It ticks all the boxes of quality, value and service. My family and I enjoyed a delicious meal on an impromptu stop on a Monday night, the staff were courteous and prompt, the food delicious, and at an excellent price too. Well done, we will be back 😀

Had a fantastic time from the time we arrived to when we left. Although it was very busy, the team were so attentive and pleased to accommodate any further requirements. As to the food, well done to the kitchen for great food, on time and perfect. Happy Christmas to you all and thanks.

Food amazing Very busy but with it

Highly recommend! Accommodated a table of 14 with 24hrs notice. A slight wait on food but they advised us of this and to be honest as a table of 14 we didn't really notice. Food was well presented and very tasty. We all looked at the Christmas menu and if it wasn't a 3hr drive for some of us we would have been booking in!! Amazing find!!

My husband and I just had a brilliant time here. The food, the wine, the atmosphere and team were just beautiful. Such an enjoyable evening and thank you once more for allowing us to dine after we got lost!! Just delicious and hearty food with excellent service. Loved it!!

We dined at The Fifield Inn with friends a few weeks ago. We've been regulars here for a number of years now and try to support as best we can. The food being produced over recent months is fantastic, I have to say. The front of house team is exceptional under the guidance of the new General Manager, Phillipe. We dined on a Sunday and the roast dinners were beautiful, pretty much faultless in all honesty. I enquired as to how many they had booked for Sunday lunch and the response was around 120 people !! For a local village pub, that's quite exceptional and a testament to the team. Well done The Fifield Inn, long may it continue.....

I first popped in last Thursday to book a table for my Uncle's birthday. Laura was exceptional, she reserved us the quietest table to suit my Uncle's hearing ability, thank you, you're amazing. We both very much enjoyed our Sunday roast chicken and lamb, very tasty, large perfect sized portions. Desserts followed, very nice too. We could not fault the food and enjoyed it. The service was perfect, food came quickly, staff were lovely, very welcoming, very attentive, all in a relaxing and welcoming environment. It was great to try somewhere new, I look forward to returning ASAP. Highly recommended.

Having lived in Maidenhead, Berkshire, for 20 years, we moved to Vancouver. Whenever we come back to visit, we are so disappointed to find that the community, warm and welcoming atmosphere of the British pub appears to be disappearing. BUT, not at Fifield Inn. The new owner is determined to keep the “village” in the pub, but with all of today’s expectations. The menu/cook was wonderful. The staff are happy and engaging. The atmosphere, welcoming. The owner Arun, very friendly, and committed to maintaining his mission of keeping the “British Pub” alive. Lovely al fresco dining or cozy indoor space. Full bar. Friendly clientele. Plenty of parking. Close to Maidenhead and Windsor. We will be back!

Beautiful lunch with my wife and staff were amazing Monday as well

The place is a really nice environment and the staff were lovely but it took over an hour to bring out food that had been pre-ordered days before. Portions were pretty mean and just poor value. Several folks from our party of ten left with their food to eat at their desk. I feel sorry for the staff because they're obviously trying to do their best but the place seems just poorly run.

Very lovely and clean service very good and good

The food was fairly good, but conversation was extremely difficult due to the TV being on at full volume playing football. There were one or two people watching it but the rest of the very busy pub had to shout at the top of their voice to be heard. It is a nice pub with nice staff but it was ruined by the noise level.

Went for a Christmas meal with friends and families, around 20 of us including 8 children under 3. Food, service, atmosphere all great, nothing was too much trouble, and very well priced. 100% recommended, will be going back.

1st Time here. My daughter chose for her 21st family meal. Had a fantastic time, the food was superb, live singer was great. The owner and staff were so accommodating. Atmosphere was 5☆

Mid week lunch for 6 people. Carpark was busy, but inside was quiet. Foof and drink was good and reasonaly priced. Service was good with friendly staff.

Best burger I have ever eaten, if you know me you jnow I have tried a whole lot of burgers over the years!! Hoestly one of those places you don't want to review as your worried it will get too busy. Super friendly staff and manger an all round host. Couldn’t do enough to make us comfortable after a long day at Legoland. Food was amazing, and great value for portion size. Lovely location and great outdoor seating. Patio heaters were a blessing for our exhausted little one

Lovely layout, charging the price they do on a Sunday roast is ridiculous. Broccoli is undercooked & Yorkshire was basically like chewing leather. Other than gorgeous layout

Nice meal,it was busy due to Bank Holiday so service was a bit slow but expected as busy time.

A canopy and patio heaters are now in place on the decking along with wicker tables and chairs, very comfortable, will be excellent in the cooler evenings. Very nice atmosphere, didn't have food , just drinks. Dog friendly, water stations and dog biscuit jars available. Very impressed 🐾🍻🐕

Service was really slow, took ages to take our order, then ages for our meals to arrive. Other customers were coming in getting served right away and their meals were served way before us, maybe because they were friends with owner!!!! But not good, food was OK if a little cold when did arrive an hour after order taken. Won't go back.

Following a family loss just before Christmas 2022, our 15 family members & two dogs, spread throughout Southern England were looking for a place to meet early on Wed 28 December, around 11am for tea/coffee, stay for lunch and leave around 4:30-5:00pm. The Fifield Inn team were so accommodating and could not have done any more to make us feel welcome and ensure the day went without a hitch and their tireless effort was appreciated by every member of our group.

Dog friendly, cosy pub with great service! Excellent food and drink! It’s a lovely spot whatever time of year! Arun went above and beyond today in processing a voucher for us! Amazing spot!

I have visited your pub various times usually for a Sunday Lunch with family. Recently there was an incident involving one of your staff members, Beth, which I happened to witness at the pub in Windsor. I think that your members of staff are a reflection of your pub/ company. To see one of your staff members attack various people was something I did not expect to see nor did I expect a staff member to act like this, considering how nice and presentable all the staff at your pub are. This really can bring a company image down.

A group of 10 of us met for a monthly get together for a few beers, a meal and a chat. This is an ideal venue with fairly good car parking facilities and slightly off the beaten track, The menu was extensive and catered for...

Went for a group lunch. The place was empty which was telling. The pizzas were not nice - undercooked, the cheese is not mozzarella and lacking in flavour. The rest of the meals were average at best. Service was ok but we wouldn’t go back...

We decided to go to the Fifield for a last minute Saturday lunch and I’m pleased we did. The staff were really friendly and helpful, we had a dog with us and although there were no “dog friendly” tables available they allowed us to sit...

We used to eat here every few weeks back around 2011/2012 when the pub was run by a different landlord and was not as focused on being a posh eatery as it was a village pub with locals and good banter. Unfortunately we went today...

I came here on Sunday with my family. We all had roast beef and it was lovely. The beef was obviously of good quality and the range of vegetables was amazing. We had red cabbage, carrots, broccoli, swede and leeks. The portion sizes were large and well worth the money we paid. Overall a great sunday dinner. We sat outside to make the most of the last bit of sun. The outside area has just been done up we were told as this was our first visit and did not know the pub before this occasion. The tables and chairs were lovely and we were happy to see that the area was non smoking. Me and my husband had a bottle of wine (Gavi) it was lovely and looking at the wine list they had some great wines by the glass, that were not that expensive at all. We will definately be coming back and eating here again. Excited to try the lunch menu as there seems to be some lovely dishes on that. The manager was friendly and greeted us at the door when we walked in which was nice. You dont get that so much nowadays. Cannot wait to come back and have rebooked a table for next Sunday already. They must fill up quite quickly so would recommend to book as soon as possible. Cant wait to come again and see all the friendly faces and eat some fantastic food.

staying a mile away we walked here one evening for dinner. was disappointed with the choice of lager. also asked for a j20 for my 5 yr old son. but they don't do them either. was offered an alternative but no choice on flavours. a bit like the green oak the menu is limited (is this a greene king theme) I asked for fish and chips. which was not available on this day. so opted for the burger. which was nice. it came with a mug full of overcooked and very small chips. I know presentation matters but surely a mug with burnt chips in it is not necessary. my wife ordered lamb. again due to there being nothing else on the menu to take her fancy which was very nice.. our son had linguine. which was tasty. our pate starter was very nice and big enough that we could have shared one. staff didn't make too much effort. just going through the motions really. certainly no reason for us to return which is a shame as the outdoor seating area is lovely.

Este es nuestro pub local y ha cambiado mucho en los últimos tiempos. Tuvimos una comida familiar después del Día Fifield divertido. Nos sorprendió que era muy tranquila para un sábado por la noche, que es una lástima. Hay una preciosa zona nueva con nueva mesa y sillas. Puedes ver el esfuerzo que se está con las copas bien, botellas de agua y hierbas en las mesas. El personal era muy atento y nos gustó mucho la comida. Tal vez le gustaría ver una mayor variedad en el menú, aunque lo que teníamos era preciosa. Sin duda vale la pena una visita si usted no ha estado recientemente.

We had home made fish fingers sardies which were very good. Very tasty and a good amount of fish in the fingers.

El nuevo gerente Ian nos recibió y nos condujo a nuestra mesa. Él parecía un soplo de aire fresco que sin duda lo que necesitaba fifield Estoy entusiasmado de volver y recomiendo este pub a cualquiera. Mucho mejor que antes. Bien hecho chicos!

Took the family and a group of friends to the fifield inn after a recommendation by a colleague. We were certainly not disappointed. The food was simply devine. The sharing platters were a great starter for us all to graze on whilst enjoying a few glasses of wine. The main courses presentation was so well put together and the tastes of all were more than satisfactory. The deserts were of the right proportion and just enough to round off an outstanding meal. Throughout the evening all the staff were friendly jolly and I genuinely felt they were happy to be at work on a Saturday night, which certainly showed. Smiles and attentiveness for the entire stay.I would highly recommend this little country gem to anyone and I have already returned once this week with some colleagues.

been here before and was very underwelmed!! however the fifield have got a new set of staff and new management and the service and food was unquestionable!! i had the steak which was perfectly cooked and my friend had the chicken which she enjoyed, will be back for food and couldnt recommend the fifield inn highly enough!! good pub food with a homely atmosphere, perfect for any occassion

Were invited to lunch 21st Feb.16, therefore did not want to complain/return fish served with "Fish and Chips". A smallish piece of batter with hardly any haddock to be found inside was served to both my husband and myself. It appears management is not interested in serving decent food. Price of £12.95 is a disgrace.Will avoid to eat there again.

Great meal - steak and kidney suet pudding. Very tasty - accompanied by a nice pint of Greene King IPA

We had an early dinner on a Monday. We were greeted on arrival and as we arrived prior to the kitchen being open we had a drink and were offered either to reserve a table or eat at the table we had a drink at, menus were provided and we were told our order would be taken once the kitchen was open. This happened promptly. The menu was great with a good selection. The food was brought out promptly. Unfortunately the food was average. If I visit again I would stick to the basic dishes such as sausages, ham or fish and chips. In conclusion this is a lovely place to relax in with a drink and papers, but stick with the more basic menu items. That being said the service was very attentive.

A successful refurbished local pub restaurant. Specials today crispy chilli beef salad , toad in the hole and retro strawberry trifle ( with hundreds and thousands with homemade shortbread finger- buttery and melt in the mouth) such a difference to the usual pub grub , well presented, carefully balanced flavours. Steak and kidney pudding suet light , tender meat exceptional , served with roasted parsnip and red wine jus. It's all in the cooking respecting the meats. Accessible for wheelchair users but no disabled toilets , but slimline grab rails are being fitted. Helpful friendly staff opening doors and settling us in make it a refreshing change. Shame not all establishment welcome their clients in this way. Sunday roast are scrummy again Yorkshire pudding like my grandma used to make .

These place has been on my radar for about 2 years... always drive past and think what a lovey looking place. Never have time to stop. Well that all changed. Popped in on Saturday for a little light lunch. Really nice decor and friendly atmosphere. The girls where all lovely and got to meet Keith who is the owner. Food was all freshly home made and was just to die for. Will be going back again soon.

Found the food to be quite poor and it was served up cold and there was no staff around to complains too. On one occasion we had coffee and the cream was off and the landlady wouldn't even consider e over to our table.

I first reviewed this place early last year and could not have been more complimentary. It stayed that way for months but then, last summer it seemed to be on the slide. The manager/ owner never seemed to be around anymore. We stopped going for a while but then gave it another try.....not bad. 1 good meal, 1 poor but they adjusted the bill at least.However...we've just been back. Alarm bells immediately. No guest beer, just the regular Greedy King offerings....and it was virtually empty!Service was poor, especially so as there were hardly any customers. Then the food. At least my wife's meal was edible. I used to LOVE the fillet steaks here. No longer on he menu. I am a fussy eater so ordered the safe option, Cheeseburger. Can's go wrong can they? I have had a few here in the past and very nice they were too. This one needed a chain saw! Just like a solid kebab in a burnt bun. Then the triple cooked chips. Previously, lovely. This time, I left half of them.Sure, they adjusted the bill but that's not the point. It has just dropped off our radar for ever. It used to be our favourite in the area. SORT IT!
