Great pub on the outskirts of Windsor. Well worth a visit. Good selection of beers and wine at a decent price. Haven't eaten there yet but, from what I have seen, the food looked good! We intend to eat there soon!

It’s our local, good pub food, nice environment with fireplace. And in summer a huge outdoor beee garden to enjoy.

We found a bar lady to be rude, therefore making the atmosphere not very welcoming. Also, I'm not sure about the cat being allowed to be on the bar, not only to sleep on but to walk along it and on top of the crisps. I am all for pub animals, but some people might have allergies to fur.

Great food, cosy atmosphere, wood burning stoves, dog friendly.

Being a group of 16,the overall opinion was a very enjoyable annual lunch,apart from the unavailability of lamb. The service was good but when knowing the size of our party one extra staff would have served quicker and kept the food hotter.

Best pub we've been to in years. If not ever. It has amazing atmosphere, great food, lots of vegetarian and vegan options, lovely staff, cozy fireplace, and even a pub cat! 🖤🐈‍⬛

Booked an emailed for set Christmas lunch for 3 out of 4 guests. When we arrived we were told they didn’t see the email so wasn’t set up for Christmas lunch. We did get the turkey dinners but not a single Christmas cracker serviette party popper on the table. I asked why we weren’t given any as other tables were set up with them. Was told they had run out (it was 14 Dec!)but could probably find two crackers. Food was ok but just a roast dinner so found it not very good value for money at £30 for two courses l Lovely pub but probably won’t bother going back again

This was a great find! Super dog friendly, including dog treats when we ordered our drinks and some sausage after we'd had our dinner! Not only that, but it's great for humans too! There is a lovely fire for cold days, but you'll need to book those spots. We went on a weekday afternoon but even so lots of tables were reserved. The service was lovely and personal too. We will definitely be back!

Couldn't have been nicer. Mid day lunch with family, busy pub with nice atmosphere, very efficient friendly service, excellent food, very well priced. Also dog friendly, which is lovely, and own car park. Very pleased, thank you !

First time visiting this pub and we all loved it! The staff were lovely and really friendly. The garden is gorgeous - the lovely weather helped 🌞 and the food was superb. Very dog friendly too. Our little dog was given her own pot of biscuits and a bowl of drinking water. We will definitely go again and thoroughly recommend this pub

We stopped here for some food and drinks after a visit to Legoland Windsor. Very pleasant, good food, and excellent staff. Would definitely recommend.

Exceptional pub. Came here after a long day at Legoland... staff were short but service was extremely friendly & personable. Food was excellent and good price. Garden area was perfect, especially with the nice weather. Really enjoyable experience.

I love this pub! The bar staff are lovely, the atmosphere is incredible. They always give the dog biscuits, so he drags me to the pub which is great 😂 The only reason it isn’t 5 stars, the menu is a little disappointing. If the menu was better I’d be here all the time. Only 9 main dishes, need some pub classics like Gammon steak or bangers and mash. Please don’t let that detract from the positives, it’s a great pub with a great garden, with great staff and a great atmosphere. If your looking for a drink I couldn’t recommend higher

700 year old pub in Old Windsor. They gladly welcomed us in and we sat outside in the amazing garden. Food and drinks were fantastic. Great pie of the day and a great kids menu. Thanks to the staff for wonderful evening!

Just visited lovely fish and chips and the chicken burger lovelee..After a tough day at lego land...highly recommended childrens meals lovely portions chicken goujons and the kids cheese burger very good value..no waste would certainly recommend Helpful friendly staff

Lovely traditional pub, with a great beer garden. Food has been excellent on several occasions that we've been there - as have the welcoming staff.

Outside seating pods are fab! So warm too (with the heaters going)

Very old pub, building date lost in time, few miles out of Windsor, was quite when we visited, food was fresh n tasty, drinks were good, well worth the visit, prices ok fer London as well

Loved this place we went to last week, were going back this week for family birthday. Staff were very friendly. Attentive and nothing was a bother. Had a great band playing out in the garden, had a wonderful afternoon eating drinking and having a little sing song!! Definitely recommended, food was great too, just eish the band were there more often... my new favourite place to go...

This was our first visit to the fox and castle and we will definitely be back. Lovely cosy pub, staff very welcoming with lots of treats for our dog. Food was great, being vegetarian it was nice to have some different options, would 100% recommend.

Beautiful pub lovely atmosphere. Nicely decorated It makes such a pleasant change to go in to a pub and be served at your table rather than have to go to the bar to order food. We were served by Mark. Friendly and efficient service. The food was delicious, nicely served and very filling. There is a great selection of second hand books that can be bought for £1.50 donation go to a Swan charity. There is an amazing and very large beer garden Blankets that can be borrowed to keep you warm outside or heated huts. Fruit and veg is grown in the garden too. It was very impressive. Definitely worth a visit

We would like to thank Nicholas and Gillian for allowing us to hire at very short notice a section of their lovely pub for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. A beautiful place to celebrate with family and friends lovely surroundings and superb staff who were excellent nothing was to much trouble for them, we certainly would recommend for functions or just visiting which we will be doing again. We enjoyed a superb Sunday lunch. My Boyfriend enjoyed his roast lamb dinner, my chicken curry was delicious! I was expecting a mediocre curry which would appeal to everyone - I was pleasantly suprised with the authenic tasty recipe! The staff were very pleasant & courteous.

We came across this wonderful pub while searching for a dog friendly pub. It was a busy Sunday lunchtime, and we hadn't booked but was welcomed and seated in one of the comfy pods in the garden. The staff were very helpful and took good care of us. The menu and food were amazing. Although we live 50 minutes away from the pub, we definitely plan on returning.

Very nice traditional pub inside. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the meal we had was not VFM, which meant on this trip in the area we went elsewhere for our other evening meals.

I went there yesterday and waited a long time for a rump steak, sweet potatoes and salad. For what it was, at nearly £17, it was extremely poor value for money. The steak was small, thin, tough and dry, and it would appear that someone was idiotic enough to have removed the fat from it. My companion had fish and chips but wasn't particularly impressed with the chips, which were far too chunky. On the whole, somewhat disappointing, especially for the price, which is on the high side. It's ridiculous that this pub doesn't even have a full salad as part of its menu, which would at least cater for vegetarians and those on a ketogenic diet.

Nice looking pub with plenty of character but the slowest service in any pub we have been in recently. And after waiting ages, didn't get the order right. Not one to go back to...

Had a good pint of Ghostship here. But called last orders at 8.30pm on a Sunday.

The staff are absolutely amazing, super friendly and caring! Me and partner came here tonight sitting outside and the gentleman from the bar brought us two blankets and two mugs with hot water to keep us warm - I mean, if that’s not amazing, then I don’t what is! Definitely the best, the friendliest and the most awesome pub in Berkshire ❤️

I enjoyed a fabulously tasty squash curry in one of the covered huts in the garden followed by a delightful stroll around the raised vegetable beds. The staff are delightful.

Recently stayed near to the Fox & Castle pub. Arrived late evening and the pub was very popular but the staff were very welcoming and arranged a table for my family and I. Kids had fantastic food and I had a lovely Chicken & Mushroom pie with mash and veg which was excellent . Thank you to Gillian, Mark and the staff for an excellent evening. Thank you

So pleased we chose the Fox & Castle for our Post-Christening gathering for 20 people. We booked a buffet menu in advance, with some special dietary requests, which was excellent value and outstanding quality food. The staff were fantastic, drinks were also good value, and the kitchen even managed a great job of repairing our 2-tier Christening cake, which had been damaged when we were transporting it from the bakers. A lovely venue that we will be using again and would recommend to everyone. Thanks again Fox & Castle Team.

Food was quality. The back garden was lovely and dog friendly. Will defo be returning. The staff were very attentive too. One piece of advice: mind the step!!!

Poor selection of beer and sprits, the draft beer is always out of stock and when it is in stock it’s flat. The sprits selection is terrible and dated like the 90’s. The only selling point about the pub is the garden which is great but they should focus on selling alcohol not running a garden centre

Well kept traditional British pub with lovely outside garden area and well spaced tables and 3 off 12-14 seat wooden gazebos. Very good service, and nice food with very clear menus. Sunday lunch lamb roast was good value. Improvement on what we think was overbaked roast potatoes would clinch 5 stars. Thoroughly recommended.
