The Greene Oak in Windsor and Maidenhead

Sunday roast quality of sirloin was poor. Also my crab salad was mediocre. Had a great evening meal the previous week. Not consistent. It was really the terrible sirloin quality and overall poor food on an Sunday which was disappointing.

First visit, delicious meal, thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, will be back

Festive 3-Course Menu – Great Food & Service Visited Greene Oak for a Christmas work dinner and opted for their festive 3-course menu. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. The event was well-organized with the tables set beautifully, and the service was excellent throughout the evening. Starters: I had the onion soup and a cheese croquette. The soup was okay, but I couldn’t finish it. However, the croquette—though there was only one—was absolutely delicious. Main: The beef shoulder with mash, veg, and braising sauce was the star of the meal. The beef was cooked to perfection, tender, and flavorful. It paired wonderfully with the mash and sauce. My only wish? A slightly larger portion. Dessert: The berry cheesecake was fantastic! It was well-balanced, indulgent, and I couldn’t find a single fault. Onsite car parking was a bonus, making the whole experience even more convenient. Would happily recommend Greene Oak for festive dining or any special occasion.

Had a family Christmas get-together, great service, and attention (that's covered by service charge). Nice food overall, could do with a little more on the dinner for the price, most of it was tasty, not sure all was freshly cooked as potatoes were hard inside and out and you just got a couple (2) sliced carrots and parsnips. But enjoyed overall, guess its harder for them dealing with a larger party. If I was looking to splash out a bit on a nice dinner, I would likely try again, maybe not as a group, just 2 or 4.

Food was really nice, cooked well and tasted great, however disappointing the food portions seemed kids like size, wouldn't mind so much but at £26 for a kids size shepherd's pie, just abit much, it reminded us of a wedding lunch, hiked price and half the portion. Service was really good friendly, and quick. Service charge automatically added onto the bill for a table of 2, is just a cheek we thought. The pub itself, a nice place to be.

Delicious Christmas lunch with excellent service.

Love coming here for a drink. Arrived and they had a private party. Said we could only sit outside in the freezing cold, despite the restaurant section having loads of empty tables. Coming on Christmas Day and really looking forward to it. As long as we are sat inside. 🤣🤣

Had lunch on Tuesday to celebrate a birthday. So glad to see The Greene Oak back to its previously high standard - a very pleasant surprise as I had stopped going there.. Pleasant atmosphere, lovely staff and great food at reasonable prices. Well done - can't wait to try brunch and Sunday lunch.

Excellent place to spend a Sunday, food and service was faultless, from being greeted by the lady at the door then throughout our meal, even when they were super busy we were so well looked after, will definitely be returning!

Disappointed on two fronts: - staff seemed so busy they were unable to give attention when serving and were just looking to move on to the next table. - booked a table and paid a £60 deposit on booking When the bill arrived this wasn’t automatically included - why not? Should be automatic that on arrival our booking got linked to the reservation and the bill automatically linked showing the deposit. When raising this there was no question and -£60 added - but shouldn’t have been needed to be raised. Interested to hear your response on this.

Fantastic Sunday roast dinner as always. We visit here often and it really does not disappoint everyone. Fresh, hot, tasty food on a cold day in the perfect atmosphere and surroundings. The staff are really attentive and friendly providing a great service. Thank you.

Great food from set lunch menu 6 diners all very satisfied Excellent value

Superb food and very attentive service. Disappointed for them that it was so empty on a Sunday but hopefully explained by the horrendous weather that evening! Yes - it's expensive - expect to pay £50 each if you have a little tipple and 3 courses. Does that represent value for money? For a special occasion, in my opinion, it most certainly does. If that is a reasonable pricing point for you, then you can't do much better in terms of quality. For those that care about such things the kitchen provided us with a quite sensational vegan meal for one of our party. Absolutely recommended.

Food was pretty and tasty but not enough explanation on the menu so left lacking. Prices are not cheap and service was slow.

My wife and our two boys (aged 6 and 9) went for an early dinner. The food was excellent! It arrived quickly, was well cooked and not greasy at all. My two boys are usually fussy but raved about their meals! My wife is also a coeliac and lactose intolerant but the restaurant were great at adapting dishes to cater for her allergies and intolerances. Great atmosphere, attentive staff and excellent food - we’ll definitely be going back!

Dining with girl friends on a Wednesday night so not busy. Excellent food. Great service but not too intrusive. I had three courses and finished them all which I never normally do. I'd recommend it for small or large groups. We will definitely be going back.

What a lovely dining experience! We met our family - it was half way between our two homes! The staff were welcome and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble - they altered the menu for our grandchildren, and ensured that our daughter in law had food to suit her dietary needs. We all agreed that we hadn't had such a delicious Sunday lunch in a long time! Well done Greene Oak! The icing on the cake, so to speak, was when they brought out a dinner plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate , a brownie with ice cream and a candle on top and proceeded to join the family in singing!!!

Roast dinner at 5pm on a sunday. Plates warm, food barely warm, potatoes horrible and tough. Expensive at between £21-£30 for a basic cold roast dinner. Service and atmosphere excellent. Shame the food was so poor.

Incredible Sunday Roast - possibly the best we’ve ever eaten! We had the sharing feast for two and the crumble, both of which were to die for.

The bar staff were very welcoming. Lovely outside space. The live singer (Ed Sheeran) was fabulous. The menu looked enticing, though we did not eat. Walking from the marina was quite hazardous due to there being no paths to walk on.

I usually never have to add seasoning but every course totally lacked any seasoning

Really amazing Sunday lunch. Big portions, really well cooked, even with pigs in blankets! Staff were amazingly friendly as well and even insisted on us eating more roast potatoes! Definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely brilliant. Food is fantastic with quality drinks menu to suit.

Had not been for some time but noticed when passing , on several occasions, that the car park was usually busy so decided to give it a try . The restaurant seemed brighter and fresher than remembered , the atmosphere was good and we were made to feel welcome by the young lady and gentleman who looked after us . Four different main courses were ordered and all received praise , this was passed to the staff at the time . Good food was complimented by a wine list which covered all choices and was well priced . A very pleasant afternoon, made so by the staff followed by the excellent food and wine, Thank you, we’ll be back soon .

On the day we had the most amazing service from Cynthia and Ria, it made our day and they exceeded our expectations. It was service with a smile and it felt like they went above and beyond for us. I hate giving this amazing restaurant less than 5 as the food was fantastic, as always. Wine was fantastic too with the most perfect bottle of English sparkling. Sadly, on this occasion the service let us down as we were very much left on our own. We had to pour the wine twice, were given the wrong specials menu and just generally ignored for most of the meal. One waitress looked twice at our empty plates but didn't clear them. Thanks to the waiter who did attend to us.

This was my first ever meal in the country that was not at the airport or airport hotel because I was stuck overnight at Heathrow. I had a wonderful time, the food was very good, service was very good, the beer was excellent. I am very glad this was my first experience, I especially enjoyed the sourdough bread. Thank you!

Brilliant meal with our 3 young children. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. Great communication between the kitchen and restaurant, so food arrived hot and fresh. The restaurant was fully booked, despite being an early evening mid-week. Food was very nice, portions not extremely big but just the right size and impeccable service . Prices probably a bit higher than the average pub price but worth it. Nice atmosphere too.

We meet our daughter and her fiance here, and it was quite the quintessential Sunday lunch experience. Everyone ordered Sunday roast. The Yorkshire pudding was crispy on the outside and airy on the inside. Perfect! The meats were tender and juice, cooked perfectly. The sides were plentiful and delicious. It's one of those places exemplary of the British pub and worth going to.

Loved that it was quiet and we were able to have a chat. We were probably the loudest table as our children were exhausted from a trip in Legoland and were very fussy. (sorry other guests)… the food was delicious! The waitress was very friendly and talked to my children about Legoland which helped calm them a bit

The staff are always very welcoming and attentive. The Sunday lunch is amazing and an excellent selection of wine. The restaurant feels inviting and has a great ambience. A great place to come as a couple or with friends and family.

Entering the establishment I was greeted by a young,well spoken,member of staff.The food and drinks menu was to an ala cart standard,I ordered off the specials menu .The food was well presented,cooked to perfection.I highly recommend this establishment,which is animal,family and all age groups friendly.I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at the Oak .Im also looking forward to there Christmas menu .I believe it starts the beginning of December .Thankyou for making my dining experience,memorable.

Just back from the bottomless brunch with friends for my birthday. Best food I have had in a very long time. Special thanks to Yasmine (sorry, unsure if that’s spelt correctly) who looked after us and the best service we have had at any pub in a very long time. We will be back!

Best food in Berkshire and beyond! Superb dinner menu. Beautifully cooked - great flavours and very reasonably priced for the quality. Delicious cod, very generous sized plaice , melt in the mouth venison and the roast chicken in butter beans was wonderful. Alex looked after us with charm and humour. Just go!

Lovely place, got to be the best pub in Windsor. The pub certainly serves the best pint of Guinness.
