Thatched Cottage in Windsor and Maidenhead

The Thatched Cottage in Maidenhead is a real gem! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The atmosphere was fantastic, creating a truly memorable dining experience. If you’re in the Maidenhead area, I highly recommend stopping by it’s a great place to visit!

Had the great meal here staff were really friendly and prices were very reasonable. Lots of offers on and adverts for entertainment

Amazing and best pub in Maidenhead, manager and partner are so lovely and accommodating, the new outside area is stunning and there is so much entertainment to suit every person. All the bar staff are just so lovely and friendly it’s a pleasure to be with you all on a Tuesday night. Food is incredible and drinks are very well priced

Nathan and the staff are friendly and helpful, the pub has such a great atmosphere and so many offers on. The two bottles for £7 was a great way to spend my afternoon watching sport. More room now the pub has had a little reshuffle. Can see the screens and spend all afternoon there.

Just popped in after work have been a few times and like the last this didn't disappoint. Atmosphere was good, food was hot and staff are helpful and friendly! We have seen the post about buy one get one free burgers on Mondays so we will be back for that.. Thank you again to the staff for making our meal enjoyable.

Went for lunch on a Thursday, had a good look around, and seemed to have been recently renovated, interesting decor, and a great selection of beers. Although my personal favourites have to be the house larger, I'm certain there's a drink for everyone here.

We visited 4th February a family of 4 and dog, very impressed with the look and cleanliness and spacious everywhere, ordered food which was lovely and hot,service was very friendly,will definitely visit again.

Food is good and staff. However since this pub has been decorated. it has closed off areas. It used to look better with an open bar so you could walk around and see others. It's lost alot of regulars for this reason which is a shame

Came in for a late night drink with a few friends, was served by both Ema and Malachi and they were exceptional. They made most of them mates go from singles to doubles with their charm. Looking forward to coming back already

Our local pub, since their upgrade its absolutely beautiful with a great vibe and we've had wonderful food every time! Their specials are also great!

Had Christmas Day Dinner at the Thatch 13 people altogether gave great service meals Great not one hiccup got all the orders right no pressure during the meals or to leave will book again

A very nice pub. Warm and welcoming. Good menu with variations on price depending on what time you go during the day Meal was served hot, prompt and well cooked Met with a friendly smile from staff who acknowledged you on arrival.

Food was nice. We had lunch meals with some starters and drinks. They didn't have the shawarma and the chef politely asked if they could substitute it with something else and it was fine. Ambience is also good with dedicated carpark behind the pub. Staff isn't customer friendly - my bill came out £X and when I asked for Blue light card discount, they offered and instead the price increased by 20% as original deal got removed - they didn't even bother to tell me and took the payment. I noticed when I saw the bill and got it corrected but the lady who served me gave a wicked smile to her coworker as if she tried to do the trick but got caught. So 1 star for staff / service. They should improve that else it's not a good place to go to.

Nicely refurbished pub. Friendly staff & nice atmosphere. We went during the day so quieter but great for a relaxing lunch.

1st visit and welcoming, over ordered food as seemed very cheap and pleasantly surprised as portions generous, beautiful presentation and so tasty. Perfectly cooked halloumi and fish and chips. The non alcoholic cocktail is gorgeous and I didn't miss the alcohol Friendly staff, tables nicely spaced. This is a little gem and we will be going back soon!

Attended this very warm welcoming pub/ restaurant with my baby and some friends. It was very welcoming. They sat us in a perfect place for our baby to also be comfortable. We ordered the multiple plate deals and wow every plate was outstanding. Their options of chips are amazing and food was outstanding. The staff were so friendly and I will definitely be returning again.

Love this place, since the new manager took over ion the last few months the place has gone from strength to strength, great beer, great atmosphere and spot on food, the team can't do enough for you.

Had the best evening at the thatched for my other half’s birthday the Prosecco deal was great value for money. The staff are super friendly and happy to help with anything. Especially Nathan who told us about the great live music they have coming up. Will be back for our next date night.

By far the best green king in maidenhead. They've stopped selling Thatchers for some crazy reason. The football was in but the speakers weren't working so the atmosphere was lacking.

Usually just come with friends however brought my family! Had a such a great time staff were friendly and we played the quiz. Food was really good! And really reasonable with all the different deals they do every day

I went to the Thatched Cottage with my son Doug Cleland . It was my first visit to the UK and I had a wonderful time. My experience was awesome. You can take your dogs on a leash have a pint or two of beer and have lunch . It's was an excellent time to sit and meet the locals and enjoy the time spent with my son . It was early June and a bit nippy but fantastic. I look forward to going back very soon .

We had a lovely roast beef dinner cooked to perfection highly recommended we will be going back to work through the menu

The pub has recently been revamped inside and out. Spacious front and back outdoor areas with cover and heating, as well as TVs to watch the sports. Staff are really friendly and food is very nice. Dogs are also very welcome and there are bowls, toys and even a doggy menu to choose some bits from!

Great pub. Not local to Maidenhead but had head through family the pub had had a refurb. So decided to go. Was a good decision. Great atmosphere, lovely high spec refurb. Friendly staff and clean and presentable. With reasonable prices.

Visited The Thatched Cottage Friday 2nd August. Ordered Dinner there, A mixture of food for 6 Adults, The food was really nice, so compliments to the chef Paul for the great meals. The Staff were great, really friendly and really took great care of us. Will look forward to going again.

Very disappointing. Waited absolutely ages for food. Chips came. Fair while layer burgers/wraps/ciabbata arrived. Chips were good. Burgers etc were absolutely awful. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Service was amazing first time back since the refit but the food has lost its standards ordered the Swiss burger looked amazing at first but unfortunately it was very burnt so let it down which is very sad even the bun had to suffer but the chips where amazing

Lovely refurbishment of the place. Gemma was very helpful and checked on us to make sure all was ok.

We were here to watch the European Championship final. It was therefore full, but the atmosphere was good, as was the food and drinks.

Came here for the euros final, what an amazing atmosphere. They have the cutest outside area, friendly staff too. We cant wait to come back.

We went for Sunday Lunch. The service was excellent. The food less so. The roast did not taste freshly cooked. The beef was oK, the turkey, for some reason very ‘wet’… not moist, wet. the vegetables not very tasty. Disappointed indeed.

Wow what a transformation from.the old setup. Plenty of seating inside & out. Although I have lived in the area for many years this was my first visit. I did not even know there was a car park to the rear. A much better image,f They deserve to succeed Have not rated food as none was taken but menu looked pretty good

Went there to watch the football. Really good experience, particularly ordering on the Greene King app to avoid queues at the bar. Only slight annoyance was that the support posts in the garden terrace can obstruct your view of the massive tv they have, so get there early if going for a game.

Decided to visit last night after hearing that the pub was now back open. Placed order for food and drinks for 4 people. 20 minutes later and still no drinks, had to chase with the bar staff. 45 minutes after ordering food, was advised of the food that was not avaible and had to change one of the meals ordered. Pub was not busy. Underneath some of the tables we saw old food, bottle tops and a fork too. Hardly any cutlery too. When food finally did arrive, it was not worth the 50 minute wait. Will not be returning. Such a shame as the pub looks lovely now.

I came for a meal with my young daughter and friend, and got greeted by friendly bar staff who recognised my daughter and made conversation with her. We ordered some food, fish and chips, fish fingers (kids) and halloumi fries. When our food arrived it was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the thatched, and the refurb that it has recently undergone makes the pub have a wonderful character about it. Definitely will return!

First time back since the refurb, the pub looks fresh and completely different, it worries me that now there is only one bar in a busy pub, this was apparent as I waited 5 mins to get served. Food was fine but no cutlery so had to raid another table. I will miss the old layout but nothing stays the same, I will be back !!

Read on their website that today was opening evening after refurbishment. Wanting to find somewhere local to frequent , my friend and I thought it would be good to support the opening. We spent £12 on an Uber. Were greeted by a very rude lady who asked if we had “tickets”. I explained we didn’t know we needed tickets as this was not explained on the website. She flatly stated “tonight is for ticket holders only and demanded we left. We stood outside whilst we gathered our thoughts about what had happened and where to go. A guy (manager ?) came out to try and explain and acknowledged that the website was not clear. Whilst we waited for an Uber to bring us home, 9 other people were turned away for not having ticket. They at least could have offered a drink as a way of an apology. If the other people were like us, looking for a new place to frequent, then they have lost the new business. Obviously are not interested in welcoming new comers update 07th July . I have emailed the “number” I was given in the response . No reply

Lovely pub the refurb is fantastic and has given new life to the cottage! Food is lovely and fresh and was served super quickly good price for what you get too! Dog friendly and lots going on every evening including a quiz night on weds raising funds for macmillan, will definitely be returning

Gemma was amazing. She helped with a late orderand was absolutely amazing, considering it was opening weekend and how busy it was. She is a credit!!! X

One of the best under Green King chain of pubs around. Very nice ambiance and superb food. Excellent choice of ales on offer too. Highly recommended! Service could be better, it was a lot better the last time around. Be more adaptable to customer's requirements, I was a barman myself!

Delicious food, fantastic staff, karaoke, open mic nights. You can’t go wrong coming to this place, plus great Guinness.

Love this place, great to catch up with friends, drink and nibble highly recommend the pulled pork nachos, BBQ chicken strips and the fries with sea salt and rosemary sprigs, it has a home from home feel, regulars are welcoming, bar staff are lovely, very accommodating and the atmosphere is great!!

Nice pub lovely girls working there, polite and very obliging, reasonable prices, well done girls 👍 RECAP. In the last few visits to this place they have managed to ramp up the price of a drink to the point where I consider them to be unscrupulous, that is taking advantage of the local customers and of course myself and my friends. To finish on that note, I will not be returning to this establishment again. They can say good luck to this but it still won't excuse the fact that they are thieving &#@%+*£s. Shame!!

It was a good experience in my opinion. The place was not too crowded neither was it too loud or quiet. The service from the bar and the chef was great. Consequently, the food was amazing as well so this place is perfect for friends or family. Will definitely consider coming again.

Visited here and went for the Hunters Chicken meal with Gravy ( Chef Special by the fabulous Luis) and was totally blown away, by far the best meal ever cooked with an explosion of pure flavour. Pub is the best as was also playing brilliant 80's tracks too which make the experience so much nicer. Sports on all screens and brilliant selection of beers on Tap. Fully recommended anyone to visit this place honestly as you're love it. Lost of parking available too.

Great karaoke night on 29th Sep. The Green King app does not really work here though, so avoid using it as staff are too busy to look at app tickets and the app does not tell you when they are out of stock, by which time you have paid!!

I meet with friends here 3 or 4 times per month. A popular local with friendly and accommodating staff . A typical GK pub menu, served in a timely and efficient manner.

Great service, good food (as always) .Today the pub was busy with a wake so we were expecting a delay in the food, however food was delivered very quickly and was delicious.

15 of us visited for lunch after my father’s funeral. We were earlier than expected, and added an extra person at the last minute. The staff could not have been more helpful, kind and accommodating. The food was very good. Thank you for helping to make a difficult day go smoothly for us.

Absolutely lovely place. We have 3 young children and felt thoroughly welcomed by both staff and locals. The back garden area is lovely with some impressive hanging baskets! Such a great relaxed atmosphere, we would absolutely visit again.
