Hurley House Hotel in Windsor and Maidenhead

We had a wake in Hurley House Hotel after friends of ours recommended this venue. I have been lucky to have worked in high end hospitality in Europe and therefore I can say my standards with regards to food and service are rather high. Quality food is something you do find from time to time but high standard service is usually very hard to find, let alone both… The reason why I am saying this is because Hurley House delivered quality food and an amazing, professional service at the same time. Despite the sad nature of the occasion, we had an outstanding experience having our event there. Some of our friends and family also stayed in the hotel after the wake and they said their stay was incredible. Thank you Hurley House and staff for being the silver lining on that day.

A truly superb experience! The omakase counter looks superb, and the chefs do it great justice, adding professionalism and enthusiasm. We were also able to enjoy the singer in the garden afterwards. My wife and I look forward to returning soon.

We visited here for a birthday celebration lunch and was not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and looked after. We were given a complimentary glass of non alcoholic sparkle to start .. It is a great menu my hubby choose from the Japanese menu and he said it was the best he has had.. I had the Sunday roast which was delicious and a full plate. I couldn’t finish it all.. we finished off by sharing a tiramisu which was scrumptious. After that they brought us four chocolates on a happy birthday plate for my hubby. Top staff top food we will be back .

The menu was well varied ranging from Japanese, modern British and a selection of Italian pastas. We shared a platter of sushi to start with edamame and this was very enjoyable. Followed by teriyaki rib eye steaks and my wife had the fillet steak which was perfectly cooked. The wine menu was impressive and the staff were brilliant hosts, making you feel welcome and appreciated. We just about made rooms for the deserts and I’m glad we did! Well done Hurley House, we will be back.

Well what can I say , had the pleasure of having a fantastic afternoon tea as a birthday treat . What a welcome , beautiful food savoury and sweet , truly delicious .

Visited for the first time with a family member. From entering the restaurant to leaving the whole experience was first class. The menu catered for a vegetarian and ‘lover of fine food’ especially Italian. The starters were excellent and very ample portions. We chose a shared pasta dish which was competed by the waiter at the table. What a treat! Aged freshly grated Parmesan gently enveloping beautifully cooked pasta. The shared chocolate dessert was exquisite and an unexpected finale of chocolate truffles.

Wow! We have visited HHH before for previous events & have just enjoyed the most fantastic Japanese food. The service was efficient and really friendly. We could not fault the food, from start to finish. The wine list is also superb and as has been mentioned in previous reports - the place is spotless. Well worth the visit. Thank you to those who were working hard to make it a great evening.

Hurley House front of house is attentive and diligent.In the past I have enjoyed interesting food there.Since covid I learn pizzas have become a lifeline -BUT now on this visit staff try upselling pizza..I dont care how many days the dough is fermented -now the a la carte has a lengthy list of pizza and under International Menu just the barest most boring basics showing no culinary creativity,skills or choices at all.A steak.a pork, a fish grilled and simple pasta...stuff one can find anywhere or serve up at home .A menu utterly bereft of imagination, culinary skill with flavour or enthusiasm.Nothing worldly about it! I was a guest and utterly disappointed. The staff with nothing to enthuse about on the menu. We had to choose japanese to raise any interest at all! They dont need a chef here just minor domestic kitchen help- if this continues maybe a drive thru! Where are classic dishes,winter warmth,flavours of inspiration and knowledge.The menu is a quick fix,minimum effort and maximum cost in a delightful venue.How utterly disappointing with a hefty drinks bill for my host, to pass the afternoon instead of a memorable occasion of thoughtfully prepared food.

Have been to eat here three times in the last five weeks, and each time it has been absolutely wonderful. The food is exceptional and they do the basics very well. The fish and chips are perfect with light crispy batter and the freshest fish you can get, not being near the coast. I had a sushi starter on my third visit and again, very fresh and well executed. The house burger is also one of the 'basics' but again, very well done and extremely tasty. The best thing about the experience is not the food (which is fantastic) but the service and dedication the staff put in. Have been made to feel welcomed on each visit and every member of staff have been trained to the highest standard and genuinely care about their guests, which is so refreshing and you are always guaranteed a warm welcome. I can't wait to come back again

Our family booked Sunday lunch during our visit to UK......what a choice......the best meal we had on our month long trip......the food was excellent and the service was top class.....particularly Adrian...but the eholecteam were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable without being over the top......highly recommended.....

I've been hearing great things about this restaurant and I have to say it was perfect. The staff where faultless the drinks especially the wines by the glass where of exceptional quality, I highly reccomend the champagne. The waiting staff where very professional and knowledgable and helped us in our choices, the prawns tempura where as good as any I've tasted before and the selection of sushi was just perfect, especially with the glass of Alsace Riesling, we particularly enjoyed the wild seabass. We followed with a steak to share cooked and rested to perfection with great deep flavour, my son commented on the quality of the meat. To finish our appreciation of the talent in the kitchen we were treated to the most perfectly cooked Creme brulee and some lovely chocolate ganache on a bed of bubbling smoky dry ice. Thank you it was a memorable day.

My initial attempt to order sushi for delivery (we are c. 10 mins from Hurley House), was unsuccessful due to problems with their website accepting card payment. Following this, I phoned to place the order but could only speak to the front of house who was stood next to the live band and so could not hear my address details. In an attempt to avoid the inevitable mishearing of my address, I settled for collection instead. An hour later I collected my food and set off home. Once home, I discovered one of our main courses was missing, despite being on the receipt and paid for. Phoning back, I was offered a discount on the next order in place of the food not received - preferring a refund for what I paid for but didn’t receive (!), I was told I would have to wait for the manager to call me back. He did, and I was given a simple refund for that one item. All-in-all, terrible service and I will not be using Hurley House again. The apologies I was given throughout felt superficial and this was evidenced by the repeat errors. The only thing that saves it from one star is that the food is reasonable if you can bear the stress of ordering it!

Booked after my son looked on Facebook for somewhere to eat whilst visiting the area, he wanted something different and the Japanese menu caught his eye, we were staying very close in Hurley Village 2 minutes drive away. On entering the car park you could tell this Hotel and Restaurant was going to be something special, we were welcomed and seated straight away, the atmosphere was something quite special, a female vocalist really brought the place alive with her amazing voice and at just the right volume to be able to have a conversation and listen to her in the background. We pre-ordered our meals which we were dubious about doing but it worked out to be something that took the stress out of deciding what to eat on the night, shortly after our drinks were ordered our starters arrived, king prawns cooked to perfection, the Hurley house fishcakes were tasty and fresh with the an extra squeeze of lime, the Edamame, soya bean pods were surprisingly nice and refreshing and very different. Our mains were very good, a mixture of pizza, sushi, Togarashi Teriyaki Steak which was exceptional, the flavour was amazing and the steak melted in your mouth, definitely a dish that will be remembered for a long time, the tripled cooked chips were very good too. After a short break we had our deserts brought to the table, a chocolate and raspberry gateau and a creme brûlée, both were exceptional, my Son and his wife said it was by far the best Creme Brûlée they have ever eaten and they have tasted a quite a few! The sweet treat to finish off the meal had the drama and surprise to finish off such a perfect meal and evening. Thank you Hurley House, we will definitely be back when we visit the area again. The night before we had dined at a well known restaurant in Marlow which was double the price but wasn’t anywhere near as good as Hurley House Hotel. A must if visiting the Hurley area.

Visited for lunch on Sunday starters heritage beetroot was brilliant and very tasty followed by roasted pork and belly pork with seasonal vegetables all were exceptionally well cooked but the Yorkshire pudding was more like a bread pudding overall we would definitely recommend this restaurant

Very welcoming and lots of attention to detail, making for a very pleasant visit. Had tea. scones and some snack starters. All very good, especially the scones. Good service and friendly. Slightly expensive, but worth it. Would have like the fire to be on and service could have been quicker, but these are picky things for tweaking. Family friendly.

A year ago I felt the menu was too chef led and slightly pretentious. Not anymore !As a connoisseur of the classic Cottage Pie. This is the best ! I even went back a week later to confirm !I felt the establishment was overstaffed, ( With hospitality pro's ) What a wage bill !!

I left a review around about this time last year and almost feel guilty I have left it until now to update my previous review and star rating. Although I stand by the comments and the review I left last December - what I should of gone on to say was how the team at Hurley House pulled it round by making contact with me and asking myself and my wife to return, which we did and had a fabulous meal.

Lovely venue for a family early christmas celebration lunch! Beautiful venue and a super roast beef we loved the private dining!

To start I had the scallops they were great, followed by the ribeye which unfortunately was more med-well than med-rare like I had asked. There was no check back once to ask how our meal was going so was unable to give feedback on the steak. The birthday fudge I received was lovely but overall Very disappointing.

I have eaten a number of times at Hurley House since it opened a few years ago as I live only about 20 minutes' drive away. The hotel has been fitted out to a high standard and I know they have ambitions for the restaurant, but the inconsistency - in food quality and service - just prevents them from being able to move this restaurant into the level they aspire to.

I rarely write reviews but - after a one night stay at the Hurley House hotel - I'm really impressed. The attention to detail is striking: friendly and competent staff, terrific food, a very comfortable bed, a spacious attractive bathroom in which everything works. The management have got everything right and I'll definitely be back!

Treated to an evening out with some good friends we were thoroughly entertained with great food, superb service and some first class spanish guitar. All the staff were professional, polite and knowlegable with a real interest in our enjoyment of the excellent menu and superb wine list. The entertainment was first class too. Thoroughly recommended.

the last review I commented that I was a little upset, but my father always said its not what you do wrong that counts but what you do about it that counts. The restaurant politely got in touch, so I have now been back twice. Once without a reservation to just eat dinner in the bar,the welcome was warm & the service was great. Fish and chips and a burger, both top quality and reasonably priced. We also went back with a reservation on Saturday night, they were busy, but the were on it. The service on all tables that I noted was great, and the food was the best I have had there, and on a busy night. The scallops were seared on the outer rim, and cooked so that they melted in the mouth, the tempura prawn were hot, not greasy and also melted, this was a proper tempura batter. The venison was a treat, and the monkish was so good I wasn't even allowed to try it! Appreciated they contacted me in such a polite manner and pleased I went back. It really is a delightful setting.

A totally quality venue, lovely setting, excellent food. We usually dine in the bar area, as the restaurant can be noisy.

We were there on a Monday, and initially we were a little disappointed when we saw that the rather good looking Japanese menu was only available Tuesday-Saturday. BUT our food was excellent (I had scallops, duck and bread-and-butter pudding - I recommend them all without reservation) and the service so very helpful, warm and attentive. It is hard to imagine what more they could have done to make us feel more welcome and looked after. Exceptional - We had a truly lovely evening.

We recently ate here as a family of 8 to celebrate my parents 55th Wedding Anniversary. We hired the snug and had an excellent time. The service was outstanding, with plenty of choice for Veggies and meat eaters alike. The wine choice was limited for the lower end of the budget, but the one we chose was excellent and fully complimented the meal choices.

First time visit for me. We had a reservation for 7 people at 3pm, unfortunately we were not sat until 3:30, although we arrived on time (14:55).

The restaurant is part of the 10 room Hurley House hotel which is situated near the village of Hurley (hence the name) on the busy A4130. Once in the entrance there are plenty of parking spaces available for guest staying or just wanting a meal.

The property has been so beautifully refurbished, thought has gone into it, but when you arrive I constantly get the feeling that I am not quite good enough for the staff, and the service can vary to really good to damn right rude. The food can be brilliant, it also can be, within days of each other, really average, but the price is constantly high. The wines also go from average to really expensive, there doesn't seem to be anything in between, and I once, with a group, managed to get the last white wine that I chose, so we couldn't have a second one, we had to get a different bottle, and then the same thing happened with three different red wines. I keep going back, but after my last experience I am done, there is so much choice in that area for the money I am not prepared to keep trying.

We met friends at the hotel restaurant for lunch. The food was terrific! I had the monkfish -Yum! My wife had the fish and chips which she said was the best she had ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Really lovely place to stay for the night (we would have stayed for two but the restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings). We had a superior room which was so nice, with a big bathroom, spacious bedroom and everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay - lots of thoughtful extra little touches in the room.

Stayed one night. Beautifully appointed hotel. Fabulous bedroom and bathroom. Everything you could wish for is there. Lovely well-stocked bar and excellent cuisine in the restaurant highly recommend. Also a very nice spa.

Just a quick bite...burger and fish & chips...but to me (if not my wife) an unexpected pleasure. Magnificent bar, neat service, really super bar snacks. We'll be back to try the restaurant and the a la carte menu.

This rates as one the best meals of all time. Every course was superb. The scallops were light and so tasty. My Short Rib was slow-cooked and succulent, and the Passion Fruit Cheesecake was light and wonderful. Even the petit fours were excellent: a passion fruit marshmallow and coconut sweet were subtle and so tasty. We couldn't fault it and couldn't remember when we had last had such a great meal. Service was attentive and efficient. We'll be back.

So pleased to discover this establishment ,near Maidenhead but in a country area. Can only comment on the restaurant but the whole hotel I am sure is first class. Ample parking.

This was our second visit to this restaurant but only because we don’t live locally. Again the food and service were excellent. Most of our group had the scallops to start which were highly rated and then we all had fish. The salt bass came in the most delicious sauce and there were no empty plates. Although we could only manage 3 desserts between 5 of us we were all brought a plate and cutlery- good move. The mint ice cream tasted as if it had come fresh from the garden and empty plates again. A special mention has to be given to the delicious bread but I really don’t get whipped butter I’m afraid. Overall a very good and very reasonably priced meal. Wish we lived nearer.

Popped in here as we know the garden is beautiful, and as it was very hot we wanted to sit out in the shade.

We had booked a one night escape from London but ended up staying for a second. The rooms were finished to a high standard with lovely addition of complimentary chocolate treats and felt like we were in a magazine shot. The bed was heavenly! We had dinner at the restaurant and was excellent, service was fantastic and couldn’t do more for you. Breakfast was just as good, with continental offering as well as the a la carte options which were huge. Already talking about when we can go back, certainly recommend if you are exploring the area.

We stayed sadly only for 1 night. Wished it was longer. We were welcomed by a friendly member of staff called George who was lovely. We were upgraded upon arrival to a lovely room. We stayed here particularly as our friends were camping at the nearby Riverside Camping Ground. Really convenient location for the Hurley Regatta. I can't camp anymore as I suffer from Arthritis so we chose this stunning hotel whilst our friends camped in the pouring rain.. Poor things.. The bar area is gorgeous. We will totally be returning. Visited last night for a birthday celebration. Amazing venue. The outside is magical at night (shame the weather wasn't good). Walked in to a very warm welcome and a pianist which was a nice touch. We didn't have a reservation but the staff accommodated us even though the place was very busy. We tried some sushi in the bar area which was excellent! The sommelier which was very knowledgeable recommended some sake, so glad he did as it was something we never tried before.

Just spent the night there, took my GF as a birthday surprise. What can I say? The place is amazing, the room was lovely and the staff were all fantastic. Dinner was outstanding, splashed out on the Tomahawk Steak and it was superb. Lovely little touches too like the Happy Birthday chocolates in the room when we arrived and the same again at the end of dinner did not go unnoticed and were very welcome! We were gutted to leave this morning. It's certainly not the cheapest place all-in-all but if you're looking for something a bit on the decadent side, I can't recommend it highly enough. We'll be back again soon, that's for sure.

I called ahead as it was our anniversary and we were greeted with enormous smiles from the amazing staff, who offered us complimentary champagne and congratulations. We were so chuffed! A special mention to Tony, Leilani, Alina and Andrea for making our special evening so memorable!

We stayed here on the eve of our son's wedding. Very comfortable room, modern and well equipped. Evening meal was exceptional, as were the breakfasts and were well look after. Thank you to all the staff. Would definitely recommend staying.

We have been here many times, usually get great food and great service. so we know how they can perform . sadly last night they were pretty shocking. very slow to get drinks and waited over an hour for the food after ordering to arrive . i guess you know waiting that long that at least it is cooked to order. when our food arrived we asked for more drinks. we waited and waited and guess what waited. no drinks appeared . gave up waked to the bar and paid and left very annoyed and frustrated . there were staff milling around the bar when we went to pay none of them had there eye on the ball

A little gem. A couple of niggles short of perfect is all.

I wanted to take my mother somewhere special and where better than The Hurley House Hotel. She chose from the a la carte and I had the lunch set menu. We both had 2 courses but there was an additional plate of sushi. I'm not normally a fan of sushi but this was delicious. HHH is one of my favourite places. The food is absolutely excellent with great service in delightful surroundings. I would recommend it for all occasions.

I am a foodie and was delighted to "discover" this place on a recent visit. The first time we sat indoors which is warm and cozy and better enjoyed in the colder months. On the second visit we chose to sit under an umbrella to enjoy the wonderful early summer weather. The food was very good on both occasions and the wine list is worth a look.

Absolutely brilliant restaurant. Fantastic staff with an attention to detail and very willing to ensure a perfect meal and overall experience. Wonderful menu. My sister and I took my father out for a Sunday lunch, I’d pre-booked Hurley house because I’ve been there before and I knew it was a beautiful restaurant and surroundings and I was not disappointed, I needed another reason to go back, my father and sister were very impressed, the staff were very friendly, we sat in the garden before our meal and had pre-drinks, the garden is immaculate and stunning, The food was very tasty and flavoursome, we will definitely go back again, thank you for a lovely meal

The restaurant and bar areas are very stylish, and the large outdoor area is well looked after and would be great on a nice summer's day.

From the moment you walk in, flawless. Fantastic relaxed atmosphere, brilliant service, food cooked to perfection, lovely chilled atmosphere. Really nice unique touches on all the dishes. We will be visiting again - frequently.

What a fabulous place. Great service, beautiful surroundings and fabulous food. This is a very classy place. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. The staff are absolute superb. The food was first rate. Someone has put a lot of thought (and money) into creating a superb small hotel and restaurant.

I ordered of the set lunch menu, which was a creative and interesting menu. The food was beautifully served, tasty and cooked perfectly. My friend order a la carte and similarly enjoyed well cooked and presented food. The fish portion size was very generous. Perhaps the waitress, who was very attentive could have asked whether a small or large portion was required?

I ate here many times during my stay, as I needed Uber to get everywhere. The food was fresh, delicious and the staff is amazing. Truly they bent over backwards to take care of any need. They have a decent wine list and some simple, good wines by the glass.

Put simply great service , excellent food with pleasant ambience. Great choice for a meal that costs a little more but delivers on quality

Stayed here in room 1 for one night to celebrate our golden wedding. Cannot praise this place enough. Our room was beautiful with a private patio and garden furniture, and an excellent bathroom. All the staff seemed to be aware it was our anniversary, and whoever we met congratulated us. In our room was a huge bouquet of flowers and champagne (all complimentary) and we were also offered a complimentary glass of champagne in the bar. All the staff were friendly and professional, and we felt totally relaxed.

The warmest of welcomes followed by wonderful service and fabulous, exceptional food in beautiful surroundings.

Sincere thanks to Nathan for a wonderful evening. My prawn cocktail and fillet of beef where superb. The rhubarb sweet with the sugar dome was a real triumph.

The room was tastefully decorated with a large bath and comfortable bed. The private dining area worked well for our small wedding celebration with the food and service being excellent. I really felt that the staff couldn't do enough for us.

We stayed for one night with friends on a recommendation and can highly recommend this lovely hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was beautifully decorated and check in was a breeze. The afternoon tea looked extremely tempting, but the sandwiches were a little dry, as if they’d be left out too long. We mentioned it, and were immediately offered more fresh sandwiches, which we declined (only because we were eating later). Thought no more of it, only to find that on leaving, they had taken 25% off for the inconvenience! Our friend had fantastic Expresso Martinis and the champagne selection was fab! The ambience and decor both inside and out were really lovely.

Hurley House have certainly upped their game.

Visited recently as part of a group of friends and family to celebrate a “big” birthday. Could not fault the service, from the time we visited to book, through to the day itself. The level of service I have experienced here is exceptional...Tom our server on the day was brilliant. The food was excellent, everyone enjoyed every course. The pastry chef gets a special welcome...innovative and almost too pretty to eat. We had a brilliant day, thank you Hurley House.

Had a great lunch with friends this week and was pleased that after my last visit they have got their act together, service as always good but on this occasion the food was delicious, their prices and overall approach to customers and food is much better. Will certainly go back

Varied menu to suit everyone. Some tables very close together. The night we were there it was full and it was very noisy.

We visited Hurley House hotel after a day trip to Henley. We serendipitously saw the hotel featured in a book of the best pubs of England in a local bookshop. We ordered two glasses of white and a shared starter plate of prawn cocktail with a small lobster & mango cigar (£10). We enjoyed our short visit however it was a little expensive for £36. Fantastic presentation. The prawn cocktail sauce could have been a little more piquant while the cigar was melt in the mouth delicious- a shame there’s only one!

I had meals at Hurley House about 4 or 5 times last year and normally had very good food and service. My wife and I visited this week for the first time in 2019 and based on this meal, we'll be back for more. So far this year we've had lunches at The White Oak in Cookham (a favourite of ours) and the new Roux at Skindles restaurant in Maidenhead and our Hurley House lunch yesterday was far superior to both (and almost exactly the same price).

Disappointing experience I am afraid, We had a great evening meal there a few weeks ago but unfortunately the breakfast fell short.

Wow. A delightful experience. Ahead of the schedule with Christmas preparations we took an unplanned walk with the dogs. Ended up at Hurley House Hotel. An absolute delight.

Third visit normally very good but Sunday lunch today was quite poor. Had the roast beef which was sliced razor thin 3 slices 2mm thick and had more fat than meat. Not a great experience, starter was ok but appearance was a bit predictable manufactured manufactured and desert was nice. Staff were great but I’m not sure about the chef today.

We booked to have an over night stay for our anniversary some months ago. We have been treated very well by all staff and the pub restaurant and hotel is all very good quality and good value. Thank you

Visited Hurley House Hotel last Saturday afternoon with family and friends.Yes the food and drinks were a little expensive but a well varied menu and very high quality food,Portions were of fair size.The bar and restaurant areas were kept to a high standard.Very clean with new fresh decor.A lovely smell throughout. Situated in an open country area with plenty of space outside to sit in the summer.Ample parking which is not a problem.Noticed that there were facilities for events and wedding receptions.Ideal venue for that! All in all a real pleasure to visit.Will certainly return very soon.

Worth trying, sometimes very good, a little over priced and unfortunately inconsistent quality of the meals.

It’s not often that you find somewhere that ticks all the boxes, particularly outside of London. However dining at the Hurley House has certainly managed to do this...a charming setting in beautiful grounds where every last detail of the interior and exterior of the venue has been considered. It manages to deliver on being both trendy and exciting, whilst being welcoming and a cosy, intimate place to enjoy dinner.
