Booked table for 5 in advance. Roasts were OK but vegetables cold and had to be reheated. Veg lazagna tasted like a microwave meal. Chef came out to apologise and offered a free dessert but to be honest we just wanted to leave. Restaurant was empty, so food should've been better.

My wife and I booked Sunday lunch a week prior for 12.30. We arrived around 12.15 and were the 1st people to order Sunday lunch. 1 roast beef and 1 roast pork, so simple stuff especially been the 1st order a roast on a Sunday. Unfortunately it was cold so we sent it back, 10 minutes later it came out again and barely warm. Plates were not hot either. The roast beef looked lovely and was pretty hot however everything else on the plate was barely warm. Roast potato’s barely warm and the cauliflower cheese was actually cold along with cold carrots & cabbage. £26 for a roast beef, no matter how good it is for me if it’s not served hot it’s a non starter. The manager didn’t seem too bothered or apologetic towards us having travelled 40 minutes to get there we left very disappointed and hungry!

Had a lovely cream tea, lovely and cozy with a lovely warm fire in the winter. Lovely fresh scones with cream and jam. Staff were very attentive and polite. We left headphones in the restaurant and one of the staff kindly found us while we were driving away to return it.

We ordered two sausage baps and two coffees which cost £20.00. We had to queue to collect our coffees but food was delivered to the table. The sausages (one per bap) were a 'warm up job' and the bread slightly stale. The coffees were fine and piping hot. In our view the Cogges Kitchen Cafe does not begin to compete with the other Cotswold cafes we visit reguarly and who offer better quality food at lower prices. On the plus side, dogs are welcome, Blue Badge holders are able to park adjacent to the cafe and there is extensive patio seating with space for children to play. Would suggest an urgent re-vamp as this could be turned into a very attractive operation.

Positives: Food was delicious, the menu provided lots of options for vegetarians (you could make any burger veggie). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Negatives: On the expensive side. Finding the entrance was a little difficult as the new location is down an alley way. Summary: Very enjoyable meal. Love the new location. Will be visiting again.

My wife and I had called in here on Saturday 16th September to see if we could grab a bite to eat and a drink. Unfortunately at lunchtime they did not do any food but did kindly suggest another local place for us to eat at. After about an hour or so we returned to have a drink in the bar area and relax in what we thought was a superb traditional local pub which just had so much character. One of the locals made us feel very welcome and came over and had a chat with us both for about 10 minutes. He gave us some local history info and mentioned about the village and its links with the tv program Downton Abbey. All in all a very nice visit and if we were ever in the area again we would not hesitate in calling in. Thank you.

We called in for a late lunch and were very impressed with both the service by the friendly staff and the choice, quality and portion size of the food So glad we didn't have a starter Because we certainly wouldn't have been able to finish! The gammon steak with eggs, onion rings, mushrooms, baby vine tomatoes and chips were all delicious and my friend's liver and bacon with mash looked equally good and was apparently cooked to perfection! Wish we'd had room for one of the desserts! If you're in Burford and looking for somewhere to drink and/or eat, look no further than The Cotswold Arms!

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I placed a relatively small order just after 18:30 and was told it would arrive just after 19:00. 19:00 came and went and so I rang numerous times to check where the order was and was assured it was “on its way” which carried on for about an hour despite the fact we live less than 10 minutes away. Sadly, when the food did arrive around 20:10, it was luke warm, and the bun for the burger was stale. I rang up to complain and ask for a refund or at least a discount only to be offered free food instead. They offered to collect the food but at that time, everyone was so hungry that we had to make do. I rarely ever leave reviews of anything but on this occasion I felt no choice. It has been arguably the worst takeaway experience I’ve ever had with abysmal customer service. If you are thinking of ordering from Off the Hook tonight, please think again.

lovely food.. l should have asked for a spare plate and only one serving of sandwiches between me and mum - mum and l had cheese and fig chutney sandwiches - crisps and green salad. Dad had one of his favorite sandwiches. l had a juice and pot of tea for one.. my dad had a beer l think and mum had ginger beer. service was ok.. bit slow but totally understanding that there where a lot of people dining in on account of the rain. it was really nice to see a few of the same staff we saw on our last visit in February. l really liked the rooms and loved just sitting there looking around at the artwork etc while eating my lunch.
