I had lunch at the pub yesterday with a couple of friends. We decided to sit outside and soak up the beautiful spring sunshine. We were served by a very friendly, helpful waiter who did all he could to make our lunch a pleasant one BUT the seats we sat on were covered in bird droppings. The table also had a generous dollop from the local crows. Looking around, we noticed that most of the chairs were in the same condition. Yuk! Such a beautiful place so please give the outdoor furniture a bit of attention. Thank you!

Enjoyed a 2 night stay here. Lovely modern room with great facilities. Location is very good, just a short walk to Blenheim. We managed very easily to get a parking space with a 24 hour £10 permit bought from the hotel but can see parking being an issue at busier times. Breakfast was excellent, really good choice and cooked to order. Didn’t eat dinner here and think the evening menu could do with a bit of updating but overall would definitely return.

Booked table for 5 in advance. Roasts were OK but vegetables cold and had to be reheated. Veg lazagna tasted like a microwave meal. Chef came out to apologise and offered a free dessert but to be honest we just wanted to leave. Restaurant was empty, so food should've been better.

Positives: Food was delicious, the menu provided lots of options for vegetarians (you could make any burger veggie). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Negatives: On the expensive side. Finding the entrance was a little difficult as the new location is down an alley way. Summary: Very enjoyable meal. Love the new location. Will be visiting again.

My wife and I had called in here on Saturday 16th September to see if we could grab a bite to eat and a drink. Unfortunately at lunchtime they did not do any food but did kindly suggest another local place for us to eat at. After about an hour or so we returned to have a drink in the bar area and relax in what we thought was a superb traditional local pub which just had so much character. One of the locals made us feel very welcome and came over and had a chat with us both for about 10 minutes. He gave us some local history info and mentioned about the village and its links with the tv program Downton Abbey. All in all a very nice visit and if we were ever in the area again we would not hesitate in calling in. Thank you.

Rowdy, overpriced and DO NOT go there if you have allergies as not only did they ignore large red asterisks in the pre order then served the allergen, the staff three a strop when asked about it offering no apology or alternative addition to the meagre dish. The food quality was awful and really overpriced. Context - April 2025, a group of 18 of us in a walking group booked a table in advance for our evening meal after a 13 mile trek in the Cotswolds. We gave our choices in advance including allergies. I opted for Plant Based Moving Mountains Vegan Burger (vg, v,) Served with bbq sauce in a vegan bap and fries, it was £18. Cheap roll, no dressing, small lettuce leaf and a sad slice of tomato with a sliver of onion, burger was cooked ok, fries were cheap oven fries, and a tub of sauce which clearly was no BBQ and could have caused me to end up in hospital. The staff threw a huge strop when questioned about the allergies and 'it is as described on the menu' when asked about the quality. Offered no alternative, discount nor apology. We were also sat awkwardly in the back corner, having navigated the rowdy drunk football fans in the front bar. Service was on the joyful if ineffective side.

Absolutely no-nonsense proper traditional pub with a good local following and great atmosphere. We stopped by on the way back from Clarksons pub and to be quite honest apart from the ’celebriry’ aspect that’s just a jumped-up mass catering venue whereas the Lamb & Flag is what a pub should REALLY be!!!

lovely food.. l should have asked for a spare plate and only one serving of sandwiches between me and mum - mum and l had cheese and fig chutney sandwiches - crisps and green salad. Dad had one of his favorite sandwiches. l had a juice and pot of tea for one.. my dad had a beer l think and mum had ginger beer. service was ok.. bit slow but totally understanding that there where a lot of people dining in on account of the rain. it was really nice to see a few of the same staff we saw on our last visit in February. l really liked the rooms and loved just sitting there looking around at the artwork etc while eating my lunch.
