Friendly service but imsorry if you’re going to sell cheese and onion toasties please include the cheese. The food in Burford as a whole is of such poor quality, yet another place for a local not to visit again in because the foods so bad and very expensive. I don’t mind paying the price but at least make it worth it. We’re not all tourists who won’t visit again, think of the locals too. On top of that, just think of everyone, what do you want/expect when you purchase your food.

First time at The Angel, en route to The Forest of Dean. It was great all round. For a Monday lunchtime this quaint pub was buzzing. Whilst we were there they had to turn lots of people away as they were fully booked. There was a roaring log burner - always welcome! The food was delicious. A lovely selection and appetising specials also. The beetroot ravioli was delightful as was the chilli squid (which can easily be chewy!) but it was soft and flavoursome. And as for the special chocolate fondant - stunning! Will definitely be back!

The cafe is not cheap, but then where is these days! We enjoyed coffee and cake, the cake was a decent size but the coffee although nice is served in cheap cups- like the ones in a premier inn. What is nice is the atmosphere, there are loads of wooden tables surrounded by lots of plants and a lovely cottage effect. Relaxing for an afternoon break. The garden centre is full of lovely home decorations, garden furniture and clothes, unfortunately very pricey.

Having seen the restaurant’s picture on the website, we thought that it looked to be a comfortable place to have lunch but it wasn’t open on a weekday so we ate at a large table in the entrance area. But as it happened that was probably all to the good since our 2 grandchildren were able to have much more freedom, and the food was excellent. The celeriac soup was luscious, the confit duck very tasty and apple/berry/ginger crumble was excellent. What is more all these dishes were suitable for those who could not eat gluten. Perhaps the only downside was that the small dishes (vegetables, custard) could have been warmer. Did I mention the friendly and helpful staff? We should certainly like to eat at The Lamb Inn again, hopefully this time in the restaurant.

We booked this last minute as the other hotel we stayed at was absolutely disgusting. We read some reviews after we had booked, so wasn’t expecting much. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a young man from behind the bar. He was very polite and informative and told us everything we needed to know. Now, the venue no longer does food as far as I’m aware. They do provide breakfast which was very nice indeed. They have two sister pubs within walking distance that will give 10% off if you show your room key. We stayed in the robin room which is next to the pubs small car park. The room was quite spacious with a good size bathroom. It was clean and equipped with a tv, kettle, iron and board and a hairdryer. We would happily stay there again.
