Looking for a drink and a bite to eat on a day out, popped into Sadlers but found they'd just closed, Staff apologised but asked what we were after as they still had some pasties for take away, this suited us fine. Food was packed and labelled as different flavours and drinks from the fridge. We paid and left to eat said pasties and commented how helpful and pleasant the girls had been. Very helpful and pleasant customer experience, thank you.

Ate a lunch here and due to the fact it was January just after Christmas and horrible weather it was understandably very quiet. However, we had a nice cosy table in the bar area and the service and food was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and will very happily be back for more.

The owner contacted me straight away from my review. Said it wouldn’t happen again and refunded £20. I accepted the apology right away and would definitely come come as I believe any training issues will have sorted out and as I said in the first place and lovely setting

We booked a special birthday lunch here, having seen some good reviews. We were shown to the ballroom, where the flowers on the table were dead!! We were then given a bar menu of small plates. When we asked for the lunch menu, we were told that they were not running lunch today, as they had a large booking in the evening. We booked in advance and the day before, we had an email asking us to reconfirm our booking, which we did. The restaurant didn’t bother to warn us in advance despite having told them it was a special birthday lunch. Appalling service, so we left and ate elsewhere, at the White Hart in Fyfield, where we had a wonderful meal

Unpleasant member of staff (or the owner?) takes the joy out of shopping here. Gives you the impression you the customer are a bit of a nuisance. Such a shame as it’s otherwise a good shop. I wish I’d just ordered my item online. Won’t bother trying them again next time.

An odd place - it look closed with door shut and curtains only half open but they were serving. Apart from a few surly locals stood at the bar it was deserted with a flat atmosphere. The landlord was friendly though.

We visited this pub after a long break, and we were nicely welcomed by the new owner, Pete. The food was amazing and very tasty. We got beef burger and fish and chips. The food was delicious and mouth-watering. Dog friendly place, too, and approved by our pup! Definitely, we will be back. Thank you. PS. Wishing new owners all the best and see you soon.

I had a ham salad sandwich. The ham content was one piece of the thinnest wafer thin ham ever, it was completely tasteless. The salad was old cut up iceberg, tomatoes slice. One slice of cucumber. The salad on the side was pitifully small and only about 5 crisps. Terrible value for money. The cold Coke drink had no ice. My daughter was given the end crust of bread in her bacon toastie . Same tiny quantity of salad leaves and 5 crisps. We went because they do gluten free bread. I wish I had made my own picnic and eaten it in the car!

Came here on Sunday with my girlfriend for a sunday roast and couldn’t fault it. Staff were all very attentive and friendly and had plenty of biscuits for our 2 dogs. Food was amazing and a very good portion size. I couldn’t fault it. Will be returning again!

Feeling very lazy again today and can't be doing with cooking our Sunday dinner, so I thought what the heck let's go out for dinner. Best decision I've made for some time. We have been to several pubs to eat out over the last few months but until today never tried our local for some reason. Another good decision. I had roast beef with all the trimmings, my wife had ½ a chicken, and we both had a pudding of home made apple and blackberry crumble and custard. All was excellent and worth every penny.

We had a stop in Abingdon on our way to Oxford. A leg stretch and looking for a place to have just a light lunch and a drink. We stumbled upon the museum and in the course of checking out the Crossley Pumping Engine in the basement decided to have luch there. The cafe is only open till 2pm but with half an our to spare we managed to get an order in for 2 toastie cheese and ham sandwiches. Hardly a particularly exciting lunch you may think, but there are toasties and there are toasties. Ours were excellent and just hit the spot after a pleasant visit to the museum above. Sometimes you just stumble on these places and have to pass them on to thers. If you are a veggie get there earlier than 1.30 as apprently the veggie versions take a bit longer to prepare.

Another lovely meal, this time Sunday lunch We had booked a table for 2.30 as we were visiting Didcot but we left early and there was no problem going in at 12.30 We were greeted by the usual friendy your waiters and waitresses, given a menu and our drinks order taken. I had the soup which was braised onion and cider, I was so cold but the soup warmed me up. Hubby had calamari to start. I ordered the Sunday lunch of roast beef, and hubby had sea bass fillets which he loved. We were too full for dessert We will be in the area again in September so see you then Plenty of free parking and nice clean loos

We visited the pub last week & decided to have a meal. We didn't realise until we went to pay our bill that it was buy one burger get on free on Thursdays. The food was lovely, fresh & hot great value for money. There was a large group in at the same time but we didn't wait too long for our meals. The staff were lovely & very efficient. We will definitely be returning.
