An odd place - it look closed with door shut and curtains only half open but they were serving. Apart from a few surly locals stood at the bar it was deserted with a flat atmosphere. The landlord was friendly though.

Friday and Saturday nights all but dead, no cask ales now, limited wine/beer/cider options. Sadly, not a welcoming place to be.

The Fish ‘n’ Chips were highly recommended; we weren’t disappointed at all - freshly cooked, hot & tasty! London Pride on-tap is always a winner! Lisa & Mark, all the staff plus the locals were all warm, friendly and welcoming; the place is very much like a second living room. Already looking forward to the next visit.

Nice place. Lovely landlord and landlady. Choice of real beer. Great bands. Small but perfectly formed. Parking a little difficult, but with a friendly pub like this it didn’t matter.

If you're looking for a pub with a warm welcoming atmosphere along with excellent home cooked food, then this is the place for you. The menu had a great choice of lovely homemade dishes, I had the the lasagne, my partner had Tai Green Curry and our daughter had the fish a chips, everything was of excellent quality. For desert we had the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Banoffee Pie (I couldn't have one because I was still full from my dinner) but I did sample both deserts and again, they were superb. The staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend

Came in with a friend for a friendly couple of beers and a couple of plates of steak came past us, the smell was enough to make us order. What a great choice that was cannot fault the quality of food and the service we received, would highly recommend the steak night on a Saturday. And gravy is to die for!

Can't fault the service and the food was exceptional. The size of the portions incredible. Not sure we needed the starters. The plates on tables around us just looked amazing. Well done all.

Booked a table for 5 adults and 7 children for my wife's 40th surprise birthday meal Saturday 22nd February at 1800. We all had starters, mains and deserts with of course a mixture of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The starters and mains were all pre ordered, all of the meals both children and adults were faultless, hot, served very efficiently by the waiting staff who were very polite and helpful. We left the table at about 22:30, the food, atmosphere , the whole evening was fantastic whith only positive comments and feedback from everyone that night and morning after. An oustanding evening, a big thank you to Pete and his team both front of house and kitchen staff (great cooking chef) What a transform, just what a village pub needed.

Worst so called “tomato and red pepper soup”we have ever had, it was so thin and watery absolutely tasteless ( now we know why…, you did say you were running out and it was only just 11.45 very early lunch! so I guess it was watered down to go further !!! No apology when we went to pay for our cup of tea only abruptness !
