My husband and I have visited this lovely little place a few times recently and we enjoy it so much. The food is lovely, great value and there are lots of items to choose from. The staff are really friendly and I think that’s one of the main reasons we go back. We always get a friendly welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you That Little Tea Shop :) We will definitely be back soon.

Super variety of menu. Staff extremely friendly, accommodating, efficient and professional. Really lovely ambiance. Loos really clean - sometimes with older pubs the loos aren’t great! The food was second to none. We all chose different meals. Not a complaint about anything between the four of us. We didn’t wait long, the food was brought out together. Everything hot. Asked if we needed anything else. First visit and will go again. Thank you.

This is a friendly spot for golf and a drink afterwards. Rebecca is running the place and she tracked down some clubs for hire so my son and I could play. The course a bit quirky with 10 holes you loop twice from different tees. Shout out to Carol at the bar, Becky’s husband Karl and his friend Simon that rescued us from the keys locked in our car. This is a very friendly spot. Nice people and a fun golf course!

An awesome place to visit, whether with or without tour dog. This is the friendliest coffee shop for dogs ever, there are treated with the utmost respect, a bed a bowl of water and treats before you order for yourself. Open 6 days a week and the Coffee and food is all to die for

The George Inn is a lovely pub with great staff and delicious food. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the quality of the food is reflected in the price. It is a great autumn/winter pub (I imagine it's a glorious spring/summer pub, but I just love the fires). We visited on Sunday 10th Nov 24 to celebrate my dad's birthday, it was also Remembrance Sunday. As you can imagine Sunday lunch is popular, so book in advance. Please please please take note of one thing that the pub and team itself do not have direct control of - the clientele. Particularly the apparent military locals, who of course have significantly higher standing than anyone else in society. I recommend the pub fully, just proceed with caution if you are noise sensitive or have an aversion to arrogant individuals that believe only their experience matters. They suggested they are military and Remembrance Sunday is for them and no one else. Frankly, their inability to manage their children's behaviour and volume ruined the experience. They wanted to make sure they knew we are local, with that in mind, if you happen to be there when Captain Arrogant and co are there, make sure you are seated nowhere near them, they are entirely anti-social.

Posh pizza was supposed to have blue cheese...it came smothered in too much cheddar....very soggy and saturated with grease from the cheese. The taste of the cheese completely swamped everything else. My husband had a pizza with pepperoni but also had far too much cheddar cheese on it. We only ate half of our pizzas.

My fiancée and I recently visited The Crook and Shears, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed by a cosy atmosphere and friendly locals, making it feel like a true countryside gem. The highlight, without a doubt, was the food. I ordered the daily special, and the local gammon was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted – perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The pub has a warm, inviting charm, and the owners were incredibly attentive. Whether you're looking for a great meal or just a relaxed spot to enjoy a drink, this place is a must-visit! They’re even dog friendly and we saw plenty of friendly pups to say hello to. Highly recommend.

Popped in for lunch and chose from the set menu offer. Food was of high quality, and the service was swift. Had pork schnitzel with peppercorn sauce, this came with grenadier potatoes and crisped carrots. Sat well on the stomach Pudding was a lemon tart with blackcurrant sorbet. Slid down well with a good balance of flavours.

A random find but what a fantastic piece of luck. 4 adults and 4 kids enjoyed a brilliant Saturday lunch, great menu choices and the food that arrived was fabulous. Very friendly service and always on hand to answer questions and grab more drinks. 5 stars!

We looked on Tripadvisor when travelling nearby and did a quick detour for lunch and are so glad we did! We (humans and a dog!) received a very warm welcome. I had the rainbow trout and I can honestly say it was the nicest meal I’ve had in a long time, my husband also very much enjoyed his steak pie. It made his day when he realised the fruit crumble was rhubarb as that’s always been his absolute fave! If in the area again we would definitely return!

This was our annual family Christmas meal. The six of us meet up to enjoy a meal together before places get to busy, but enjoy great food. This was the third time of visiting The Hatchet at Christmas. The food and service was great as always. The only hiccup was using the third party booking system. We had booked and had confirmation email and a follow up email checking we still wanted the booking, but on arrival the booking hadn’t been forwarded to the pub. The staff were friendly and helpful to make up an emergency table for us. So I would recommend calling the pub to make your booking.

We came here for lunch after going to a recommended pub that was closed. A very good find. Courteous welcome and good menu. I chose lasagne. There was plenty of food, all very hot, and well garnished with salads. Good value for money at today's prices. A good find.
