Absolutely deeelicious, stilton sauce on chicken, broccoli and garlic new pots. Generous portion, succulent and creamy! Friendly country pub.

Headed to the Hare & Hounds for Sunday Lunch on a recommendation and not disappointed at all. One of the best Sunday Lunches I’ve had in a while. A choice of meats: Beef, Pork Leg, Turkey and Gammon and you can order individual or a mixture of two, three or all of the meats, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, veg (peas, carrots, cabbage) crisp, fluffy roast potatoes and gravy. All delicious. Also ordered the cauliflower cheese which was yummy too. The staff/management were lovely and attentive. A sumptuous meal in a lovely setting. Next time we’re going to find some space and time to try out the deserts too. Well worth a visit or four.

We hired the Hare and Hound for our wedding reception as we have had many amazing meals there before and knew all our guests would have a amazing food and experience. We had 24 guests and all the food came out together and hot. The food tasted amazing and all our guests loved there food. The service we recieved was second to none and nothing was too much. The staff are super friendly and the manager was a amazing host. Could not recommend the Hare and Hound more for an amazing meal and drink to an event.

Brilliant pub/restaurant Nice to see a pub back on its feet. Staff are beyond helpful really friendly and accommodating. The food oh my god sooooo good. Perfect portion size prices are more than fair only thing I would add is maybe have a prawn cocktail or lighter option for a starter but current starters sound lovely. All round great afternoon

Went here for bottomless brunch with a group of friends on Saturday. I had the burger and bottomless drinks for £34. Very fast service meaning we were never waiting long at all for drinks and the food was lovely, I mostly had prosecco and a few cocktails made at the bar, they made us a drink when our time was up which was a nice touch to have additional for after time. I was disappointed with my last bottomless in Andover and this was far better. Will be back!

I ordered topside of beef from Sunday lunch menu. I give the following score because of 1. Food came out and was luke warm so I had to ask for it to be heated up. 2. Beef was on the tough side. 3. Some of the Yorkshire pudding was over cooked, totally crisp burnt tasting in the inside. Don’t think I would intentionally go back unless improvements made. Will wait and see

The team at hare n hounds were outstanding, warming welcoming , polite, knowledgeable about the menu & drinks , 5 star service. Very comfortable seating . Good selection of wines, beers,spirits, and the menu is to die for , you definitely won't be disappointed. They have win a Travellers Choice Award on TripAdvisor , all together a very pleasant meal and service. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 team HNH.

Lovely pub, not far from the crematorium, so chosen for convenience. It was a large but friendly place, with helpful staff. All the food was delicious and homemade. We were all very impressed and would recommend it.

Terrible Sunday lunch. Overcooked vegetables, cauliflower cheese served in a cereal bowl looked liked baby food. Burger burnt beyond recognition!

We booked in for the valentines set menu and it was amazing! The steak was cooked to absolute perfection and it was just delicious! All the little touches made it so special, homemade fudge on the table as a little present and a welcoming drink of prosecco just made it. Service was also brilliant.

I think i must have gone to a different Hare and Hounds after reading the reviews for this pub because my meal was not up to the standard that i would expect. the starter (spring roll with hoisin sauce) was well over cooked and chewy. The main course was salmon with dauphinoise potatoes. Had very little taste and again overcooked, we had to ask for the vegetables that came with the meal as they were not delivered. One of our party sent her meal back as it was inedible. I could go on but I think that will do.

Three of us and our labrador visited on Christmas Eve for lunch and had the most wonderful time. Staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Two of us have some allergies (including gluten, dairy, egg and onion), but care was taken and attention was paid to make sure that everybody could enjoy as much of the menu as possible. The three of us had roasts, one turkey, one beef and one lamb. Each came with extremely generous helpings of perfectly cooked meat and veg, and a range of accompaniments that were paired to each dish, as opposed to being one-size-fits-all. Desserts were equally generously portioned and of the same high quality. We were sad not to be able to return before the end of our trip, but we'll certainly be back when we're in the area!

Sunday dinner frozen prawns in prawn cocktail over cooked wilted salad not enough prawn cocktail sauce over cooked roast pork and roast beef. Vegetables, baked yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes over cooked too much gravy all over dinner not appetizing made made everything on plate looked like everything on plate look unpleasant not worth the price. Will say last time in August 2023 when Rob Ayres who cooked the Sunday dinner it was fantastic cooked to perfection and delicious.

Wow, the food was absolutely stunning, not only was the steak gorgeous, the seasoning on different parts of the meal, the peppercorn sauce was out of this world, sounds silly but honestly it’s nothing I’ve ever tasted before, the mushrooms were cooked to perfection and the potatoes were lush! There is some lovely food on the menu and all reasonably priced, it was cosy, nice atmosphere and the new decor looked great! Worth every penny, we met with the landlord and landlady, absolutely lovely people, made us feel welcome and Charlotte the bartender/waitress was accommodating, smiley and friendly. Came for Sunday dinner to try out since the place has changed hands again. Food was tasty, quite the bargain and the service by young waiting staff very good. Little disappointed no crackling with the pork. Would pay pound more for this! More generally, although the restaurant very clean tidy and well decorated, the toilets REALLY need a refurb. Keep it up team!

As locals, we're delighted that the pub is under such expert new hands. The new manager was awarded a Michelin Bib when running a restaurant in France, and his focus on excellent food at a very reasonable price shines through. We went on a Sunday, when they do an extremely tasty roast. It was several pounds less than anywhere else locally but every bit as delicious. I was tempted to lick my plate! The roast potatoes were probably the best I've ever had. The new weekday menu looks great too, with a focus on high quality, reasonably priced meat. Our other local pubs don't do steak anymore so I'm thrilled, especially as the prices are so reasonable. There are still improvements being made, including a well-stocked cellar and state of the art coffee machine. But it's definitely worth a visit now for simple, fresh food done well for a surprisingly reasonable price.

Really bad experience. We arrived early on Sunday for lunch. Staff were rude and unfriendly, told us that they don’t serve food if you don’t have a booking. If you want us to book, add a sign on your door and website! We ended up having 4 drinks and it took forever to be served! We won’t be coming back, such a shame.

Decided to have a Sunday off cooking before a well deserved week off and booked in with the intentions of enjoying a lovely roast which we have had before from the Hare and Hounds. Can't fault the decor, the atmosphere and the staff were lovely too but the food left alot to be desired. The starters were nice enough but when the roast arrived at the table it was a sight to be disappointed by. £19 for a duo of meat roast which was beef and pork and £18 for the pork as an option at the time. The beef was dried up and fatty and the pork was mainly fat with hardly any meat to be found. The Yorkshire pudding was literally as flat as a pancake and overcooked somehow. The tiny stuffing balls felt like they had been deep fried in a vat of fat. There were 4 tiny roasts that amounted to a medium size potato. We don't mind vegetavles being a little aldente but the green beans saw boiling water for a few seconds and I found the mix of vegetables to be odd for a standard Sunday roast. Admittedly we were asked if everything was OK with our lunch but one of the two of us struggles with confrontation and awkwardness so nothing was said. In all honesty we were not going to leave a review until we saw that the pub was shutting not long after our visit on the 20th of August and once they had reopened recently the cost of there Sunday roast has been slashed and it also appears a new chef has been put in place. We can only presume the food will be alot better now but we will be waiting on someone we know visiting and giving their view on the food before we plan to revisit.

We've visited twice and had a fabulous time on both occasions. The Manager is hilarious and very welcoming which really makes the atmosphere. We've had Sunday Lunch here twice and both times it was excellent. Great selection of drinks and they're always very accommodating. Looking forward to visiting again!

We have previously been to the Hare and Hounds a couple of times and thought it was brilliant. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the food was not up to the standard we had come to expect. The owner and barmaid were lovely and so friendly, the location, garden and interior are nice. It seems there has recently been a change in chef, and this may have had an impact. I couldn't finish my meal, which is very unusual as I'm not fussy at all! I'm hoping it was an off-day as we would like to continue to support a local small business.

Think you would have to know about the Hare and Hounds in Andover to find it but thankfully out for a drive around the Countryside I came across it. Large car park next to the pub which was handy,lovely building just like a good old fashioned pub. When I walked in felt like a laid back happy atmosphere,nice warm welcome from Charlotte behind the bar,sort of good feeling to be asked what my name was instantly feeling like a regular. Sat at the bar and had a pint from a selection of ales.Had the weather been nicer would probably have gone and sat in the scenic garden. Rob the manager introduced himself and had a chat up this and that,very friendly and interesting chap. Although I didn’t eat I was positioned where the food was coming past me and all looked and smelt delicious. Had a chat with a guy from Albania and he was overjoyed I had visited his country,unfortunately as I was driving I only had a pint and had to go. Fantastic friendly pub and would highly recommend a visit,will definitely be back for a visit for some food and leave the car at home so I can have a few more beers.

We have just got home from a lovely Sunday lunch. I had the beef roast which was delicious, homemade Yorkshire pud & crispy roasties yum & the cherry pie for pudding. My partner had the squid for starter & the chicken wrapped in bacon with Irish mash. Great size chicken breast cooked to perfection. We got lucky with the weather & sat in the garden.
