This is a friendly spot for golf and a drink afterwards. Rebecca is running the place and she tracked down some clubs for hire so my son and I could play. The course a bit quirky with 10 holes you loop twice from different tees. Shout out to Carol at the bar, Becky’s husband Karl and his friend Simon that rescued us from the keys locked in our car. This is a very friendly spot. Nice people and a fun golf course!

This golf course is very good, great condition, difficult, yes but rewarding. The bar was open, very well organised, no problem at all, a great day out.

Had awful experience here - mainly due to bad customer service and appalling unprofessional management. Would not recommend as a social event (hire).

No te decepcionará.

The very first thing that you notice about this particular Mcdonalds is how visually attractive it is from the outside. Placed in a prominent position accessible from the A303 so it’s a great stop for those driving to and from the West Country. The very next thing that I noticed long before I queued up for something to eat, was how clean it was despite the time,( 2.15pm) Evidence of a busy lunch time trade was being cleared away, and soon it was as if nothing had ever happened. The staffs that I saw were engaged in cooking, serving, or clearing and washing down.Having been many times before, I wanted to try something different before my meeting which was scheduled to take place a little later. I opted for the chicken legend with a side order of chips. It arrived promptly, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it came piping hot and looked exactly like it was supposed to A little known fact I would imagine, is the quality of tea that Mcdonalds use. I happen to take my tea strong, and prefer obviously to drink from china cups, however if the quality of the tea is superior, you’re not so aware, that you are drinking from a carton, so McDonald’s tea is always a bonus for me. Lastly my grown up children, (I guess like most kids these days) swear by Mcdonalds, for their fast foods take away. They are pretty clued up about it, so they know that as a rule, they can get their food within five minutes from when their order is taken, unless of course, one of them wants something taken off or added, then that will slightly hold up their order bless them, kids are always in such a hurry these days. Despite the busyness of the restaurant there were enough seating areas upstairs for us to enjoy what we had to discuss, whilst looking out through their panoramic windows out onto the landscaped area below.

The George Inn is a lovely pub with great staff and delicious food. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the quality of the food is reflected in the price. It is a great autumn/winter pub (I imagine it's a glorious spring/summer pub, but I just love the fires). We visited on Sunday 10th Nov 24 to celebrate my dad's birthday, it was also Remembrance Sunday. As you can imagine Sunday lunch is popular, so book in advance. Please please please take note of one thing that the pub and team itself do not have direct control of - the clientele. Particularly the apparent military locals, who of course have significantly higher standing than anyone else in society. I recommend the pub fully, just proceed with caution if you are noise sensitive or have an aversion to arrogant individuals that believe only their experience matters. They suggested they are military and Remembrance Sunday is for them and no one else. Frankly, their inability to manage their children's behaviour and volume ruined the experience. They wanted to make sure they knew we are local, with that in mind, if you happen to be there when Captain Arrogant and co are there, make sure you are seated nowhere near them, they are entirely anti-social.

Posh pizza was supposed to have blue cheese...it came smothered in too much cheddar....very soggy and saturated with grease from the cheese. The taste of the cheese completely swamped everything else. My husband had a pizza with pepperoni but also had far too much cheddar cheese on it. We only ate half of our pizzas.

My fiancée and I recently visited The Crook and Shears, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed by a cosy atmosphere and friendly locals, making it feel like a true countryside gem. The highlight, without a doubt, was the food. I ordered the daily special, and the local gammon was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted – perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The pub has a warm, inviting charm, and the owners were incredibly attentive. Whether you're looking for a great meal or just a relaxed spot to enjoy a drink, this place is a must-visit! They’re even dog friendly and we saw plenty of friendly pups to say hello to. Highly recommend.

We looked on Tripadvisor when travelling nearby and did a quick detour for lunch and are so glad we did! We (humans and a dog!) received a very warm welcome. I had the rainbow trout and I can honestly say it was the nicest meal I’ve had in a long time, my husband also very much enjoyed his steak pie. It made his day when he realised the fruit crumble was rhubarb as that’s always been his absolute fave! If in the area again we would definitely return!

Looks and feels like a pub, with comfy seating and fireplace, but the food was amazing and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Had a great meal here.
