The best restaurants serving British food in Eastern Rother Rother South East

Fantastic staff and B&B . Stayed for 1 night the accommodation was lovely very clean and well decorated. We took our two dogs and they were made to feel special ( the breakfast sausage for the dogs was great our dogs loved it ) . Our breakfast was very tasty and well presented. The honest bar was another great idea and sat by the inglenook fire with our glass of wine was a nice end the the evening . We stayed in a suite upstairs with a beautiful view and our dogs sat for ages by the french doors watching the rabbits 😂😂😂. Overall will definitely go back for longer next time .

We stayed in the very comfortable clean rooms above the pub and had a wonderful weekend with delicious food . We would highly recommend staying here and definatley eating here .

Absolutely lovely cafe, super friendly ladies, lunch was delicious, the full breakfast my friend had was great and such good value, our doggies came in too and they bought over water and snacks for them. Would highly recommend a visit here. Just a five minute drive from Camber.

Cheap tasting drinks and greasy food, makes Sids cafe from only fools and horses look like a 5 star establishment. Will not be going back! Better food in a classier establishment available five minutes further down harbour road at The Point.

I’m relieved to see this establishment has closed its doors. My experience there was one of the worst I've ever encountered, especially considering I live in the area and never expected to face such blatant racism in my own community. The owners, Jimmy and Carol, were never friendly right from the start, and it's astonishing that they managed to operate this restaurant for so long. I had often walked past it without giving it much thought, but this time I was with a few friends and thought we would give it a try. Unfortunately, the way we were treated was nothing short of appalling. We stood in the middle of the dining area for at least 15 minutes without even a greeting. It’s hard to believe they could miss us, as there were four of us waiting. The waitstaff glanced at us several times but never made the effort to approach. I can’t help but wonder if our Asian descent played a role in their indifference. Despite the available seating, we chose to wait out of respect. I sincerely hope they never reopen a restaurant. If they do, I hope they learn a valuable lesson in customer service.

To be honest I had no real idea of what The Bell would be like when I booked it. The location was convenient for a function we were attending elsewhere. What a revelation, this place is amazing. You have to consider that the "project " is ongoing, but this doesn't impact on anything. The standards are great. Service, welcome and the whole experience was amazing. While entering the bedroom, the standard of which it had been decorated and furnished to was just way above what you could have expected. Only down side was that we were only staying the one night.

Whenever I’m in the area, a quick stop here is SO worthwhile. The food is beautiful, tasty and freshly prepared and certainly sorts out those tummy rumbles The staff couldn’t be nicer and more helpful. A brilliant quiz evening hosted here on Wednesday, food was delicious, served hot. Spotted Dick was amazing. Phil runs a good restaurant, everyone is lovely and friendly.

The Gallivant is the best hotel in the UK as far as I am concerned. All the staff are so friendly, and the hotel manages to create a lovely atmosphere in the snug/ bar area by having tea and cake at 4pm and English wine at 5pm. As other reviewers have said, it is a really cosy and welcoming hotel which is very difficult to leave!

Had been here a few years back and were very happy with the meal we had. On going back we found same high quality, the standards had been maintained. We received a warm welcome ( two of us plus our border collie), and there was a very wide range of options on the menu. The service was friendly, polite and helpful. We did not wait long to be served and our food arrived quickly, and was of very good quality. Warm comfortable surroundings, and an overall excellent experience.

Went out for a family dinner there was 14 of us and what a service we had, the waiter called Leo wow what a very polite young man and nothing was to much for him getting anything we asked for.. couldn't thank him enough.

£12 for 2 0.3bottles of Stell Artois and £6 for 2 sausages for the dog! It was a birthday celebration so my sister paid the prices but it’s very sad that such a great location is abused by the owners!
