We cycled against the wind from Winchelsea to here. We initially stopped by a local pub but was slightly disappointed by their lack of service and luck us we found this little gem round the corner. It is cheap and cheerful and straight forward as it comes. We enjoyed our rest and food and there is no fuss. Loving it.

Owner/Manager should spend some of the profits of its over priced items on Customer Care training. When I asked for the Owners details so I can make a complaint I was told they don't have to give me anything and if I don't leave they will call the police! Absolute joke of a business.

Staff had childish attitude and placed my order wrong, and therefore charged me more. When confronting the staff that they had placed my order wrong, they said it was my fault. Chips were soggy and the meat tasted like it had been laying there for a while. Bad customer service; I would definitely avoid this place.

Am disgusted with this place , was here today with my daughter , 18 years old and 6 months pregnant , was hottest day today , she was in the massive queue for food and drink when she came over all funny and fainted but thankfully her partner was there and caught her and was able to place her on the ground out of the queue , he asked for some water for her and they refused!!!!! Said he had to line bk up and spend 10 quid cos only had a card , how the hell can they refuse , wasnt wanting a bottle of water , just tap water would of done , so she was made to wait till he got bk in the queue to get her a drink !!!! Gonna report this place , had no choice but to leave one star, dont deserve any

They treat people like crap and staff members! My girlfriend worked there for 2 days and she got treated badly and got shouted at for having on going medical issues. They all laughed at her when she told them about her medical problem and made her cry!

When visiting the beach after a long journey my elderly mother needed the toilet so I explained to the staff that we would eat there after the beach but was denied access to the toilets. I was told to purchase something so I told the rude lady that I’d buy a 30p lollipop and not eat there and then she refused to serve me. Don’t go there

Enjoyed a lovely break in Camber Sands. Can’t beat fresh cod in light, crispy batter and fresh fried chips from Oasis! Reminded a few fussy Londoners why Fish & Chips is the national dish. Highly recommended.

Arrived at the carpark at lovely camber sands, parked and paid days fee, and dashed off to find toilet as had driven from London.. Toilet locked for winter! Panic.. as desparate. In front of toilet is a large, rather seedy looking, cafe. A 'lady' was cleaning the windows, and i explained that whilst i understood their toilets were for customers, we would be coming back and having atleast a coffee after our walk, and could i use the toilet? "No. Everyone says that and doesn't come back. You buy a drink or don't use our facilities" Her manner and tone was so rude and i also didn't appreciate being called a liar! I stomped off, but as my husband pointed out, was desparate...so i went in, put £3 on counter and asked to use toilet. The other lady started to re explain, and i said 'don't want a coffee, take my money and point me to the toilet.' There is a open toilet a short drive up in the next carpark and a cafe...go there.

Dingy cafe which we went into to buy some water. The first staff member was a young woman who was very helpful and polite. However we asked to have a pound coin in our change for the car park and the manager came out and refused. She was cold, unapologetic and downright rude. Also water costs £1.60 for a small bottle. Not impressed, give this a miss if you don't want to be ripped off and upset.

It's very basic interior and not very appealing and I was wondering if I was making the right decision to get fish and chips there. But, behold! The haddock and chips was really good! Value for money was ok at about £7.50.

I had spent the weekend at Camber Sands beach and was delighted to have such a delicious meal here on the Sunday. Although the cafe was jam packed with people after a boiling hot day on the beach I still managed to get outstanding quick service and the staff were so polite and were trying ever so hard to get the food out as quick as they could. My respect goes out to the staff for coping with some stressed out customers as I had seen several customers coming across very rude that afternoon. I would strongly recommend eating here as they do delicious fish and chips! Customer service skills are also brilliant! Would eat here again...

Attended this Cafe after a very long day on the beach with my little girl and sister. Bought some food for my daughter which was no problem. While waiting for food, you are called over a tannoy when your food is ready with a number, the staff became very irate at a lady - mainly an elder female staff member - as she was or Eastern European origin and didn't understand the tannoy number and shouted the number again In front of her "can you hear it this time, how can you not hear that". To this alone I was completely shocked. This same older female came out to clean the tables, but this point I had already collected our order and the food was fine no problem. She saw several tables had their own drinks on but we're eating the shop bought food, all for which were water bottles - childrens sports soppy cups not branded cups. The same elder female stood in the middle of the cafe and shouted "get your drinks gone, we sell water you know, you can't do this anywhere else". Yes, I can understand she does have a point if this was older children or adults, but this is very young children who probably cannot drink from adult bottles regardless. One couple became so upset they told this female she has terrible customer service skills and they just left, which was sad as it was obvious they were not local and likely on holiday. The female staff shouted again at then "go on, get out then". The attitude was terrible and you had to be there to experience it .Another female who was targeted order food prior to this incident who had come down from London for a break with her family, approached the cafe desk and ask for a carrier bag due to wanting to go as the customer service was so poor. There was a blonde younger female, aged mid 20's, who turned to the lady after expressing her dissatisfaction on the matter of young children and drinks, "why don't you come around here and do this job then love". The staff member got as good as she gave and was told "I have a job and come here for a break thank you", suddenly all the staff gathered and started laughing at the customer becoming very intimidating, which the customer was not at all bothered by might I add.overall, this cafe has no morals, not cuts ter service skills but do produce ok food, this experience just didn't do it for me after 7hrs on the beach on a very hot day.

Although the incident did not happen to me, it was still quite shocking to see. A family with a very small child was eating a meal bought at the café however her parents gave the young child one of their own bottles of water for her to drink, she couldn't have been more than two years old. A member of safe came over and very angry and loudly told them to out it away before storming off again , there was no polite first request which is to be expected because even I had a bottle of water out without realising it as I just walked in from the beach. She then came back not five minutes later and shouted at them to out it away and the poor family was saying she was just a baby. I understand that the business wants you to only have products them but to go about it this way was the wrong way and I was appalled . A few minutes later a lady was was waiting for her food and asked how long till her food and they again gave attitude to someone who wasn't at all. The food was good and the time was good for a busy day but what let them down was customer services I'm afraid, if I could take back my purchase from them I would as this was not acceptable behaviour.

Popped in on Sunday lunchtime.Hottest day of the year so far.Lots of people.A queue for the cafe.I ordered Cod and Chips twice, both with mushy peas.Peas were £1.50 each portion. That was a bit steep. The garnish was lovely and fresh and tasty.Sadly the fish and chips were not tasty. I could not taste them. Nor could my Wife.I added salt, that didn't do much, then more salt and I was getting there. I don't normally use salt!i would expect a seaside cafe on a busy day to turn out fish and chips to die for, this failed.I have used the cafe at the main car park before and that was much better.

Despite living just round the corner from the Oasis for some years, I had never tried the food until now. A recent refurbishment saw the provision of an indoor eating area so we thought we would try it (It's always windy in Camber, so I hadn't fancied going there before the indoor part was built). I am pleased to say that the food was excellent. Freshly cooked and piled high, my husband and I had brunch and a cuppa for under a tenner! The chips were fresh and perfectly cooked and we came away full and satisfied. (Although I did 'take out' a slab of home made bread pudding for later - very tasty indeed!) This is definitely going to be our new 'local' for our Saturday lunch. Whilst we were there, we saw the most amazing looking fish and chips being served to other customers. It looked and smelt delicious! And, having just read some of the reviews of the fish and chips here on Trip Advisor, I will definitely be trying that next! The owner, Paul, and his staff we very friendly, polite, attentive. Great stuff, Oasis... so glad I visited! Will definitely be back! :-)

The Gallivant, which is opposite, was closed for a private function as it often is on summer weekends. But not to worry; our fish and chips were freshly cooked and really tasty, there was room for the kids to run around and it was exceptionally good value. Going again this week, expect a bit of a wait because it's Bank Holiday but it will definitely be worth it!

We have always ate at our local befeeter but now we have tried this one I will never eat at our local again. The chef is amazing food came out hot looked amazing and tasted the best I have tasted in a long time. This chef must love his job and I hope he is proud of what he achieved. We ordered a 3 course and couldn't manage it. We have to order a 3 course at our local as portions are so small. I still can't get over how amazing my meal was. And the place its self we have never been didn't even know it was there. It was just by chance that rainbow restaurant had no heating so we googled and found this place. We was worried would end up at the one near premiere inn, but this place is so lovely. Cosy, welcoming, we have said we will travel an hour just to go and have lunch again or even book a hotel to spend the evening here as such a nice place. Everything I wanted relaxed. Warm and such friendly staff. Waitress couldn't do enough for us. Wish I had room for desert.

A few improvements to take on board. Three vegetarians and one meat eater. Ordered two vegetarian nut roasts and it turned out to be boiled rice with nuts and berries. The roast potatoes and parsnips were lovely, the soup my husband had was lovely and the roast beef for our friend ordered was eaten without leaving a scrap. The homemade ice cream was filled with ice crystals and could not be eaten (which was a pity as it was very tasty). For thee meals, one soup and four desserts and four non alcoholic drinks the bill came to £120. The vegetarian roasts need work. I did ask the waiter if the roast vegetables had been cooked in oil and if the gravy was vegetarian and they had to return to the kitchen to ask. Not reassuring for a veggie... All in all it was good food in a quaint restaurant. The restaurant was empty on a Sunday lunch time which I did find strange. A proper veggie roast would have been nice though. A huge plus is that it is dog friendly.
