Good advice is to go where the 'locals' go... Always a fun afternoon or evening at the Rye Bay Bar & Grill! Amazing staff, delicious food, outstanding entertainment, and great company! Gotta love the locals! <3

The staff here are so welcoming and friendly. We hadn't booked and it was a Friday evening but they managed to squeeze us in. We had an incident with my little girl breaking a glass and honestly I was blown away by how friendly and calmly the staff dealt with it. They didn't make us feel awkward at all, they just quickly cleared up and were so caring to make sure my daughter was OK. Really family friendly and genuinely nice people. The food was outstanding too, fish was so fresh and HUGE portions! We took our leftovers in a doggy bag and had it for lunch the next day too!! Overall, a wonderful experience and we'll be back again next time we're at Camber. (And Milo the dog was just the cherry on the cake of a wonderful visit!)

A warm welcome from the proprietor, Graham. We turned up again for a Sunday afternoon chill out session and were made welcome by the locals as well. The highspot of our weekend and we will definitely make this our venue of choice as we visit several times a year. Highly recommended.

Nice menu, ordered 3 burgers and chips as takeaway, with 2 lagers while we waited, not cheap at £49 so we hoped they were worth it! Burgers were home made, fresh, fresh home made pickle, big chunky tomatoes and gourmet chips, def worth it as a treat lunch. Other food looked lovely with the fish & chips very popular.

I visited this restaurant back in August this year, and I truly wish I hadn't. There was not much choice of restaurants around the Camber Sands Beach and I was hungry! The one star is for the staff - they were ok. But, the food and the prices weren't. I ordered a burger and salad. The burger bun was far bigger than the burger. And, the burger was not really appetising. The salad was something a child could put together - not appealing at all. I'm sorry but I need to speak the truth - had I read about the reviews earlier about this place I would not visit it! And, the price did not tally up with the food on the plate - I had to leave almost all of it - that's how bad it was :-(

We visited here on our way to the beach for lunch and we found all the staff very accomodating to a group of adults & children alike. The food was well cooked & well presented, with the young ladies who served us being extremely patience with the younger visitors of our group (always difficult with a larger group). Surroundings were very relaxed and there was seating both outside & inside (we chose to eat inside as it was extremely hot - yes in England!) Reasonable prices when you consider the location so close to the beach. Well worth a visit, I understand it gets really busy in the evening. Fantastic experience made enjoyable by the attentiveness of great staff.

We found this place on Google, the food looked good and the prices seemed fair. I, unfortunately, really can't say anything positive after visiting. When we arrived we noticed the prices had been increased a lot, so this needs updating online. My "gourmet" burger was like rubber, full of gristle and grease, the oil in the fryer was not hot enough or clean so my chips had soaked in the oil and tasted disgusting and the salad in my burger was not washed. My friends had pretty much the same issue and the kids food was even worse. None of us ate much of our food. The manager was very rude, categorically stated he'd never had complaints, even though a lady at another table wasn't happy with her food. There was no apology and only £10 was refunded of the £80 we'd spent between us. I don't like knocking a local business but if you're wanting to go out for good food, please go somewhere else

Thank you for an absolutely amazing experience. We sat outside briefly (a couple with a baby, where many places in the area don’t accept young children) and then moved inside. We had a great lunch, and were bowled over when we were brought two more drinks on the house for what they said was slowness to serve us. It wasn’t slow, and the service was personal, kind, and extremely generous. Thank you for giving us such a fantastic Camber experience. We will be back!

I end up in this small cafe/restaurant near Cumber Sands beach by the recommendations of the Tripadvisers but apart from the coziness of the place everything else was pretty disappointing. The food menu was pretty simple (not necessary a problem is food is good and healthy) but the overall quality was greasy, small portions and relatively high price. Found the RBC by chance, looking for a light lunch (The Owl, up the road, had stopped doing lunches on Mondays, it being mid-September); we weren't sure whether 'cafe' meant no beer - fortunately, it didn't. So had a couple of beers (unfortunately, two regular bitters were off), plus a cheese and salad baguette, which was fine; friendly service and very reasonable prices. Very quiet when we were there - only four customers - and I imagine it gets pretty busy in high season. Has a pleasant verandah out front.

Situated just behind the Camber dunes, the Rye Bay Cafe is a perfectly nice, popular and family-oriented place - all it would take to get a 4 from me (rather than this 3 rating) is a bit more comfort and individual style. We had the sharing seafood platter to start, followed by four cod & chips - and all was perfectly OK and tasty enough. The local beer was nice too.Weirdly though, the tartar sauce was from a jar...why not homemade, to compliment the locally-sourced seafood...?Also, the table set-up was a little cramped inside.Service was good enough - so there's not much wrong with the Rye Bay Cafe - it's a perfectly good choice for lunch or tea if you're in or around Camber.

My wife and I both decided on the homemade fish cakes with chips and salad the fishcakes really were homemade and were excellent. These were washed down with indian ale from a local brewery. The service was very prompt and when I came to pay the bill the owner deducted 10%from the bill once he found out I was staying at Point Farm b&b

Such a shame! Perfectly positioned to cater for hungry beach goers who don't want to fight the seagulls for their picnic. A short walk from the beach, easily reached on foot. Friendly welcome and fun decor but that's as far as the positives go. There was a board of specials on the wall (that's usual) but there was also a blackboard of items not available! Off the menu were no fewer than 5 items including spaghetti bolognaise, scampi and wasabi prawns. I ordered salt and pepper squid, imagining the thin, quickly cooked rings of fresh squid in a light batter served with sweet chilli sauce. I asked if they came with the sauce and the waitress said they did. How you can charge £11.95 for salt and pepper squid and serve up c.10 shrivelled, deep fried brown pieces of what could only have been frozen, battered, crisscross, packet squid pieces is beyond me...and there was no chilli sauce in sight until I went up to ask for it once again. The salad which accompanied it was basic at best and had no dressing and the chips were fat deep fried offerings. The menu describes the sausages as Korkers sausages - which conjures up the image of freshly made, local sausages. However, what arrived could only have been the basic supermarket white meat sausages, deep fried to a uniformed colour to match their poor quality. The 'homemade soup' was congealed and the steak panini was dry and the bun was burnt. To be fair, I didn't give the owners a chance to defend themselves or to explain, because I didn't trust myself not to loose my temper. It was Father's Day and what was meant to be a lovely lunch with the family, ended with us feeling that we'd been fleeced. Suffice to say, we won't be back.

Service and food were good. Unfortunately they did not have the Wasabi Prawns anymore. Beef Burger was a little bit dry, but the Salt & Pepper Squid, Fish and Chips, Pulled Pork Burger were excellent. Would def. come back.

Another great meal at this warm, cosy and inviting pub. We sat next to the wood burner which was nice and toasty. One of us had the Belly of Pork, my mouth is watering at the thought of it! One of us had the special which was bacon and onion suet pudding……You get a generous bowl of veg each and one of us had new potatoes and one had chips. Dessert was clotted cream rice pudding……Heaven! We are lucky that this is our local pub and it couldn’t be better! Cheers!

Beautiful setting. Alas unloved and uncared for. Nightmare for anyone unsteady on their feet. Coffee luke warm, cake dry. Shabby chic carried to the nth degree.

Go through the dowdy antique shop frontage into the tiny, almost cramped room behind and prepare for a treat. We three all picked the all day breakfast; proper bacon, real butcher's sausages and all the trimmings. At around £6, with coffee refills, we couldn't have been happier!

Really fresh tasty fish, cooked to order, always piping hot, always good sized portions and the staff are lovely too.

Now called Chapter Two, not Two Trees. We enjoyed a lovely no thrills breakfast here which is exactly what we needed. The owners had signage up stating that they were away and the lady who appeared in charge in their absence was doing a great job. Made us very welcome and provided great service with a smile.
