The best restaurants in Eastern Rother Rother South East

We called in today (Bank Holiday Monday May 5th!) Wasn't sure if we would get a Meal as we hadn't booked but the Staff made us very welcome! Menu was extremely varied & fairly priced! All Meals we ordered were Beautifully cooked,large portions & piping hot! Puddings were great too! Absolutely delighted & will call in again when we next visit Hastings! Highly recommend!

£6 for two cups of tea. Shocking

5 stars across the board! We stayed for three nights and so the breakfast offering was rather limited - some bagels, croissants, pastries would have been nice.

We had booked a table for three O'Clock for 4 people, we arrived at about ten to three and were seated. The waitress came back to take our order but we weren't quite ready to order and asked for a few more minutes to decide. 30 minutes later no sign of anyone taking our order so we asked another staff member if we could order, she said yes and went away, twenty minutes later, nothing. Paid for our drinks and left at 4pm hungry. On a side note, we were seated at a table about a foot away from where a live bank was about to start-no doubt they're very good but we wouldn't have been able to have a conversation as the warming up was very loud. Shame because we've eaten here before and know the food is good but feel let down-not much of any apology when I told the person behind the bar about the problem either.

Gone down hill badly, expensive for what you get

We were in Camber Sands for Easter weekend and hadn’t booked any where for Sunday lunch. We decided to see if we could get a walk in table for 8 of us (+2 dogs). They were really helpful and sorted us a table even though they were busy and had bookings coming in. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the roast dinner was fantastic. The place was cosy with quirky but lovely decor. The garden area looks like it would be great on a summer evening (sadly it was a bit grey and drizzly when we were there) Would highly recommend if you are in the area.

My family and I had two excellent meals here over our weekend break. Our first meal was on the Friday night after a long drive from home. We enjoyed it so much we booked again for the Sunday Lunch which was amazing. As well as the food being fabulous, we received excellent service and hospitality from Matt, Lisa and Lily who could not have been more helpful. Thank you all you all so much.

A lot of attempted style - very little substance. Over priced food styled on an early 2000s gastro pub staffed by people who are unprofessional and rude. We tried to provide constructive feedback but the "manager" just smirked and dismissed us.

Ate a pizza, it was quick and as expected. My daughter loved it as usual.

6 of us stopped for a fish and chip lunch, costing £111, we should have kept walking. £15.95 for a box of poorly cooked fish and chips, £2 for a tiny pot of mushy peas and 50p for a sachet of ketchup. The food was greasy, the fish had not been prepared properly, nobody finished their meal. The food took 15 minutes to arrive, so we had the opportunity to sit around and soak up the ambience, in a rubbish strewn picnic area whilst Katy Perry blasted out at full volume. On a more positive note, the customer service was at least in keeping with the food and surroundings. The staff were rude, when we picked up 2 of our boxes from the counter, we were told to “wait until we I’ve finished putting them all out”. I would eat literally anywhere before I went here again.

THE BEST TIME I HAVE EVER HAD I WOULD RECOMEND

What a terrible mistake I made getting a takeaway from here. Was staying down the road at camber sands and ordered 2 kids meals, fish and chips. It was really poor. The mushy peas and gravy were removed from a coffee cup in the fridge and chucked in a microwave. Tasted horrific. Never again.

Went out for a family dinner there was 14 of us and what a service we had, the waiter called Leo wow what a very polite young man and nothing was to much for him getting anything we asked for.. couldn't thank him enough.
