The best restaurants serving British food in Oxford South East

Difficult to know where to begin - a hub of effortless cool and unpretentious loveliness for so many years - host to great music and exhibitions - with a wonderful buzz and fab staff - and social hub for groups from armchair philosophy to scrabble. Will miss it hugely and only wish the landlord would rethink. Huge thanks and appreciation for many memorable times.

We went for Valentine's Day and had a lovely time. Really good food. The wine list was nice.

Llamamos aquí para el desayuno, ya que abre temprano y estaba cerca del aparcamiento. Tiene un ambiente de cafetería y parece ser popular entre los lugareños. Tomé té verde y tostadas y mi pareja tomó un croissant. Los precios eran razonables.

Brilliant brunch. Tasty wholesome plenteous veggie food. Posh beans on toast; plum pancakes; bagels etc. Excellent coffee too!

Chosen for the cool-down pint at 4pm. I didn't regret it, I'll be back!

Chloe & Taz were excellent hosts. The food was tasty and filling and incredibly good value for the money. We had a pub classic which are all was 2 for 1 Monday to Friday and cocktail which was also cheap. Will visit again

Went for Metal 2 the Masses (battle of the bands) great venue, good beer, good location.

A good experience at Black Boy Pub! From the moment we arrived, we loved the cozy atmosphere and the charming style of the place. The room we were given was comfortable after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was simply amazing – delicious, plentiful, and clearly made with care. What truly made the difference was the staff, especially Johnny, who was incredibly kind. We told him about the places we wanted to visit, and he gave us excellent recommendations that made our trip even more special. We highly recommend Black Boy.

Ideally I’d like to have given this review 4.5 blobs, 4 is too harsh, 5 is too high. The venue is typically Ivy stunning, a grand building, tiles, wood, hundreds of pictures on the wall, lovely cutlery, lovely crockery, ace toilets, it’s gorgeous. Service from the staff was great, but I gave it 4-stars as it took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Fair enough - we were booked in at 08:30 when it opened and perhaps the chefs didn’t turn up in time to get a load of prep done, but it isn’t typical Ivy in our experience. It wasn’t a massive inconvenience, but just seemed ‘slow’ compared to usual. Aside from that the people and cheeriness and everything about the service was ace. The food was great, a lovely full English, some pancakes and fruit, some toast, couple of smoothie juices, tea and coffee. We always enjoy Ivy breakfasts, whether it’s York, City of London, Manchester, and now Oxford.

Fantastic find in the market! The pies were absolutely delicious - super speedy service and the manager who served us was friendly and attentive. We’ll be back again :)

Lovely cafe, friendly staff and great location!

Conocí a mi hijo, que trabaja en el parque empresarial para un descanso muy rápido para el almuerzo. Dijo que la fábrica de Oxford estaba a solo 3 minutos de su oficina y tiene una selección decente a la hora del almuerzo. Estaba increíblemente limpio, de diseño urbano, y concurrido para un lunes a la hora del almuerzo. El porro sirvió una impresionante variedad de lo que yo llamaría básicos de moda a la hora del almuerzo. Todo el mundo alrededor de nuestro asiento tipo banco parecía realmente feliz de agarrar algo rápido, nutritivo y sabroso. Sin duda volveré a visitar este lugar de nuevo para el almuerzo en el futuro cada vez que estoy en cualquier lugar cerca de East Oxford.

I went to Burger club on Tuesday and had the sirloin burger. It was extremely tasty and the service was wonderful. I will be going back to see the musical entertainment very soon.

Ordered food 3 people left waiting over 20 minutes for a drink, 15 minutes after my wife’s wine was served although menu looked ok in a hot restaurant waiting that long for some water not good enough, I left others stayed felt like I was being took the piss out of, plenty of other eateries in Oxford, shame the cock up happened, will not use again !!!
