Food looked and smelt great but atmosphere was crap and waited 20mins for a beer and coke. 1 poor girl rushing around doing orders and drinks. 1 collecting glasses and emptying tables. Other just sending out food Been drinking/eating in this pub 30 years never seen it so badly run.shame

Scran is unreal , drinks cold , Chloe and Gemini are lovely 👌 class every week

Does a banging salt and pepper fry and they’ll put sport on telly if you ask nicely. Men’s loos by front door are featured in Dante’s inferno tho

Came in hope to catch the NFL London games and was very pleasantly surprised to find that they were showing it and had commentary on! Also had a very nice brunch to enjoy with it. Staff helpful, food lovely. NFL great 🙂 would recommend especially for all kinds of sport not just football.

I want to thank the White Horse staff, particularly Jason and Chloe, who rescued me from a tough situation yesterday. My car was broken down on the road outside the White Horse yesterday afternoon. At the same time, my mobile was running out of battery. I was very panicked and didn’t know what to do. Jason, Chloe and another staff pushed my car to their car park and lent me a mobile charger. They also came to comfort me and offered me a free warm tea. I was really touched by their kindness and felt at home there. I highly recommend the White Horse. You will feel so relaxed and will be welcomed by friendly staff there.

General pub food for a good price. Service was just ok. Really loud music so it was really hard to hear at our table. Also be prepared for several large parties, that contributed to the noise levels and barely being able to hear anyone at our table.

Do not go here and assume you will get a parking space. Arrived at 10 for breakfast to find no parking spaces, I had booked a table so dropped off family members off as didn’t want to be a no show. After driving round for half an hour I went back to wait in the car to collect them, I was greeted by a snotty lady who informed me I couldn’t even wait where I was as I was blocking someone in (I was in the car with it running) and when I said I was only waiting for 2 family members she said I still couldn’t park there so I had to leave. Family members said the breakfast was very oily. Maybe tell your staff not to be so rude to potential customers and customers be warned the car park was busy but not due to the pub being busy, with workmen working nearby

Good was really lovely, arrived very quickly and exactly as ordered. Chloe who served us was amazing, really accommodating to a change i wanted with my meal and was so friendly and polite. She defiantly is an amazing representation of fantastic customer service.

Can’t comment on food as we got refused service. We arrived to the restaurant at 7:45 to be told we were not allowed to have our child “in the bar” past 8. We have travelled 100 miles and arrived BEFORE 8pm. Person behind the bar was extremely rude to us, blatantly ignored us for 5 minutes while we stood at the bar. Paid for parking as there wasn’t a sign in the car park to say we didn’t just a tiny little sign on the entrance door. Worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. Booked a table and were not advised on the phone our child would not be allowed in the restaurant at the time of our booking. Now at the Britannia Inn 0.1 miles away who offered excellent service and welcomed our child happily. Edit: 3 weeks on and every review has been replied to except mine. Why is this? We were offered terrible service in the restaurant and now followed up with ZERO customer service.

The food was good. Especially the £6 dishes. Surprisingly very good for only that price. Service was ok. The part I really didn’t like was that for a late Wednesday night with only 3 people the music was absolutely blaring. Could hardly hear myself talk. Plus, it was like being in a rave of no people. Banging music. Make the music and sound level relevant to the punters.

Food very hit and miss, today was quite poor skeak sizzler not sizzling, chips luke warm not cooked fresh, overall quite disappointing.

45 years ago as a student this was my local. I was nostalgic for the Friday lunchtime plaice and chips of the day. As I recall a family run pub but and the landlord a really friendly chap always served us himself with banter and respect. Where am I going with this? Well, I and 2 former college friends had not met for 40+ years, decided meet up, and where better we thought than our old haunt? Sadly nothing stays the same and we shouldn't live in the past. It was such a memorable return 6 weeks ago that I can't even remember what I ordered except that it was disappointing. It didn't feel welcoming at all. It is the attention to detail that makes a pub special but it looked tired and grubby. (so glad I didn't need the loo reading the other poor reviews on that aspect). When our food arrived we got no cutlery. I was told you have to get it from a unit along with sauces etc. That's fine, a bit less customer interaction for staff to do, but when the cutlery box only had 2 knives and 1 tea spoon that is not helpful. I told the 'waitress' and she shrugged and said try the other one, so there I am with diner on the table running around looking for cutlery. When I found it I took a load of their tiny serviettes to wipe it with, as not very clean. Even if I had amazing longevity or was immortal I wouldn't return in 45 year again! Trout or Perch next time.

Came here on the 30th of August. Food was shocking plates was dirty and the cup still had sticky residue on the rim. Manager was rude and called me pathetic for asking for another glass. My food came cold and not what I orderd. Surprised this place is still in business went to the toilet to see actual fecal matter on the walls. Place smelt like a zoo taps in the bathroom don’t work. The lady behind the bar was rude also. Place needs a compete overhaul of staff and management. And to top all this off when I payed the bill at the end they tried to over charge me for some onion rings that I didn’t order. Once this matter was sorted out she had the confidence to ask for a tip. Here’s a tip buy some cleaning supplies and actually do some work!!!

Can't really fault this place, they worked very hard serving a coach load of men at 10am.

The pub and garden is a nice atmosphere and a wide range of a menu however, i ordered the southern fried chicken burger which was alright but the chicken tasted slightly off but i thought nothing of it. I also thought the chips tasted funny. The next day I’ve found out i have food poisoning. So the place is nice just don’t order the food that was a let down!!

We come every 6 weeks as a group of 7 ex carers. Enjoyable company along with helpful staff. Food is nice too. Good value. Would like to see some healthy choices on the menu or maybe a jacket potato on the main menu.

We had a nice lunch here. My only criticism us that they don't tell you that you get free parking until you get to the pub door so we had already paid £3 in the car park machine!

On arrival there was ample parking which is great and when entering there was a warm welcome. Chloe was very friendly and tables etc were spotless. We had the breakfast which was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place and has a vast drinks and food menu

I hadn't been here for many years as last experience was awful and I vowed never to return. I recently had a meal here with a group of friends from work. We had a lovely evening and Chloe behind the bar was super helpful and gracious and have happily returned since. 10+ to the person in charge, you have turned this venue around

Women with dark hair kicked us off our chairs, said that we can stand at the table that wasn’t reserved but we can’t sit, when we got there two and a half hours early to see the England game, there was only three of us, and she not only did that but was incredibly rude to the point that a random guy started backing us up!!

The manager lady there was very rude. We sat at a table which wasn’t booked and she kicked us off. Have a lot of attitude for no reason which was disappointing from white horse as we all go there regularly. Please be less disrespectful when communicating with customers as this was a small matter that could have been resolved without resorting to rudeness.

Fish & Chips was one of the worst I had before: super dry chips, fish tasted like defrosted basa, definitely not cod, haddock or plaice. Pea is watered. Overall bad bad. Service is super fast.

Very happy with our experience at the White Horse, as I have been for the last 40 years having lived round the corner. It was the first time I had driven however and used to being persecuted as a car owner in Oxford, I duly paid the parking fee. I stupidly put in the number plate of my other car and the parking firm that operates the car park is fairly ruthless. I am hoping that the management can sort this out for me and the rating will go up

Good value food and lots of drink deals with a good selection of beers on tap, friendly staff, lots of big screens for live sport and 2 dartboards. DJ’s on Wednesday and Friday nights make for a lively atmosphere.

Popped in on the off chance they had food as was visiting the local hospital at lunch time. Was nicely surprised at how good the food was. Plenty of tables to choose from. Service was quick. Tables were clean as were the toilets. Would visit again if I'm in the area.
