Great drinks selection, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The food is a solid pub offering of burgers, salads and very good pizzas, with good veggie and vegan options. Family friendly with a large garden at the back (with Aunt Sally and sometimes a table tennis table). Dog friendly. Lots of events throughout the week, from a quiz night and live jazz, to a legendary monthly shanty night. Darts and a pool table plus a fireplace make for a cosy atmosphere. Sunday morning community market and a cooked breakfast is a weekly ritual for many locals. Wonderful, friendly staff mostly made up of people who live in the area too, and who give an equally warm welcome to regulars and one off visitors. It's not fancy, it's not a gastro pub, it's just a true community pub which happily serves both locals and weekend visitors to the nearby Port Meadow. I'm very happy it's my local and always proud to show it off to friends and family.

Lovely pub, good atmosphere and good food at reasonable prices. But, having visited twice in a week, the first time the kitchen did not apparently receive the order from the till and so we were waiting over 30 minutes for food. Thibking it was a one off, the second time, no drinks or food had arrived after 30 minutes so I had to chase up. Looks like the order had been forgotten (?) but it arrived 5 minutes later. So a bit disappointing for just 2 coffees and a sandwich.

This is a lovely community pub with a lively atmosphere and delicious food. We went here on a pizza night and were by no means disappointed. The beaded mushrooms were delectable and everyone immensely enjoyed their pizza, who's base maintained the perfect balance of crunch on the outside, while being firm, tough and chewy on the inside. A truly fine outing!

My partner and I came here for food and drinks. I ordered a margherita pizza and my partner had the dirty burger. The staff gave my partner the wrong burger initially - no big deal, mistakes happen, and we were given a free drink as an apology. When the food finally arrived, however, it was not good. The pizza base was floppy instead of crisp (the cheese and tomato all fell off when I lifted a slice) and it was drowning in cheese. My partner said that the beef in his patty tasted slightly rancid. Neither of us got even halfway through our meals. That being said, the atmosphere was very relaxed and kid-friendly and the local beers were absolutely delicious.

A traditional community pub with friendly staff and customers. I was staying at the Travelodge about a mile away and wanted to visit a traditional pub. The half hour walk from the edge of the main roads network around the city is not very pleasant at first, but I was pleased when I got to the White Hart, it was open and serving drinks. It was a fairly quiet Friday night as the first Friday in January. There was a mix of customers and age ranges. The pub has a pool table, a large rear outdoor area, and is in a pretty village setting. A good range of drinks. I like traditional British real ales and was pleased to see that they had not only trendy modern craft beer type hoppy pale ale but also traditional malty 'bitter' (and a darker beer on), so a choice for different tastes. It was good quite local ale - some can be pretty awful. As a member of CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) I could have claimed a small discount on the pint but didn't as I was just pleased to be sitting in a friendly pub with good beer, and the price £4.50 is reasonable for Oxfordshire. Though I should have claimed the discount anyway as I like good beer - cheaper :-). I will definitely visit the White Hart again when I am down in Oxford.

Came for the Sunday market at the back garden of this community pub. There are some really good local produce and products. Two bakery stands that sell fresh and yummy bread and pastries. One African stand that sells warm food, like curries and stews. There’s a fresh vegetable stand, a jam stand and some olive oil stand. Price reasonable, like one pastry costs £2-3. Recommend to pop in if you’re local or around in wolvercote on the Sunday morning. The market runs 10am to 12 noon every Sunday.

Cracking local pub in the lovely village of Wolvercote with regular live music, great range of gins and regularly changing real ales. Roaring fire in the Winter, beer garden in Summer. This is my local so I'm somewhat biased. A cracking community pub in the village of Wolvercote serving a constantly changing range of ales with always three handpumps on. Also at least 3 lagers I think, plus 2 ciders. Decent wine list put together by one of the locals who claims he's an expert (it's rather good but don't tell him!), a range of gins as is the norm these days and friendly, welcoming staff. Pool table, great jukebox, and decent sized pub garden. Limited food offer; Thursday night they do great pizza and Sunday they serve Brunch alongside a farmers market. There are pool, darts and 2 Aunt Sally teams. A lovely community village pub.
