Cafe Coco in Oxford

Dined on a Saturday afternoon with 4 friends, they had sold out of Prosecco (on a Saturday!?) and also didn't have some of the advertised desserts.

Warm and friendly staff, I will be back.

Lovely little cafe! Would highly recommend the ham and tomato calzone, it was delicious! Lovely staff too :)

Pub where you can watch live shows on the first floor. Very nice location.

Far too expensive for what you get. We went for the English breakfast, the 2 bacon rashes were the size of a coin & no meet, just all fat, literally, one egg, one handful of half little potatoes, one sausage ..over £12,00...nope, we were not expecting that for that money. The staff us young & quite fool but not attentive, not bringing what asked & when advised in regards, bringing the stuff not received & then charging extra for it! The place is quite nice & situated in a good spit, however scrapped from my list I am afraid. A real shame as the potential is all there

Had the shakshuka early on a Sunday morning. Good service and food was a 4/5.

Ordered a full English breakfast and it turned up without bacon. When I questioned it I was told they had "run out of bacon". It might have been worth mentioning that when I ordered as bacon is quite integral to an English breakfast. I would have had something else if I'd known. Later, when asked how everything was and I mentioned the bacon again I was asked "were you not told?" by the girl who took the order (and had not mentioned the bacon would be missing)! Apparently I should have received an extra sausage but I also did not get this. I was quite surprised that service charge was added to the bill after this. Felt it would be awkward to ask to have it taken off so paid anyway, however have this 1 star review instead!

Turned up and found a table, after 40minutes we still hadn't had menus, then when we finally did, it was another half hour for our order to be taken. When the food finally arrived the breakfasts were all stone cold.

Love Coco! Beautiful place with a beautiful atmosphere. Florence Pugh says “tzatziki goes with everything” so I ordered the Greek Pizza which was absolutely delicious. Her dad (the owner), was there working alongside the staff and was so attentive and friendly. I’m so sad they’ll be closing down soon. Please visit while you still can!!

Great place to visit anytime.

Terrible service; waitresses were slow and inattentive and overcharged us. Food was poor. The English breakfast was covered in a herby sauce which was disgusting but no one cared to check back on the the food was so we had no opportunity to tell the staff. Only saving grace was the hot chocolate which was good. Won't be returning!

Dissappointing breakfast here this weekend. Took over an hour for food to arrive with no warning or apology about the wait. Worst of all the food came before our drinks. We asked atleast 4 times for water whilst we were waiting which never ended up arriving. The food was lukewarm, average and expensive. One of our party has an allergy to fat, and stated 3 times she couldnt have butter on her toast, and after waiting an hour for our food both portions of toast she ordered came with butter on. We went for May Morn (May 1st) as we were told it's a big deal in Oxford. They opened at 6 am.🤪 I had the avocado toast and a latte and my husband had a full English and a cappuccino. The portions were very generous, so much so I couldn't finish mine. We thought the coffee was really lovely and the food was high quality and very tasty. The menu is varied without being overwhelming. There's both Veggie & Vegan options, kids menu & Breakfast is served all day for those who wish. The wait staff were absolutely slammed, but still courteous and timely - 'thank you', Sophie and Abi? The new manager Nick,seems to have everything nicely under control even with the mayhem, and it was a very pleasant experience, in spite of the ungodly hour. We will definitely be back.

I really loved the vibe here. Easy-going crowd, chilled, with a great outdoor area that's reminiscent of being abroad... Staff are super polite. We had a light dinner and the superfood salad was delicious but too small a portion to be a meal hence the 4 stars..

Me and my partner stopped here after a visit to the botanical garden. Very friendly staff and the food was delicious. Very pleased with the cafe overall and would highly recommend.

Went to visit cafe coco after 5 years as it used to be my favorite place,unfortunately cannot say the same now. The staff was slow and lost, no knowledge of the menu. We waited for the fresh juice (which was basically just water) 15 min(wasnt busy at all), then the staff brought our drink to the other table. It took ages to take the order.When I asked if the superfood salad still comes with salmon, one waitress said yes then other waitress said no. I find it too expensive to pay 17,95 for a trout and 11£ for plain salad - too high difference. A waitress was collecting glasses with her hands and putting them under her armpits(what do we have trays for?) the burger was too basic, without flavor and little bit cold. For 14£ pounds you expect better quality than what McDonald or a Burger King offers you for much less. Garlic bread was hard.the only thing I enjoyed was the salad

We came in for some food and was told choose a free table. We then sat at our table for 15 minutes before I asked twice for our order to be taken. Drinks were delivered to multiple tables who came after us and even then we were only given water (we had actually ordered water and a bottle of wine). Someone said they were leaving because food was taking so long and we decided to leave after 30 minutes when all we had been served was water. I understand if you are short staffed but 1) explain the food wait and 2) a bottle of wine shouldn’t take that long to serve.

We went for drinks Bloody Mary and the first one was amazing but the second was not good… and the service was late.

What an absolute vibe! Cafe Coco is one of my fav brunch spots in Oxford. No too spenny and really great food! They cater for a number of dietary requirements too! Deffo recommend if you’re wanting a sunny vibe for your brunch! Staff were also soooo nice and really went above and beyond for us!

Stopped for brunch. Tasty food, service a bit slow and coffee needed to be hotter but otherwise a good choice.

Food is quite good, delicious pasta and well toasted pizza. Helpful and friendly staff although food takes abit of time to come.

Very good food, however service is a little slow.

Went for a friend's birthday breakfast. Food was fine, but seemed very expensive. However, service was pretty terrible; very slow, inattentive, and in some cases pretty aloof/dismissive. Tap water requested 3 times for the table before it finally came.... The girl who started at 11:00 was far better, but felt like it was a bit late by then. Wouldn't recommend, sorry.

Expensive. Poor service, lack of basic welcoming manner. Music too loud for a Sunday brunch. Food choices were good, if a little pricey.

If you've never been here: Walk in, grab a bite and see what heaven feels like! The Churros pizza was an excellent recommendation by the lovely waitress who served me. It's a bit spicy but the flavours you taste is heavenly. Definitely worth a try!

Go to place for cocktails, although a bit pricey they do the best mojito and long island ice tea. Think I've only ever tried coffee here once and that was about 20 years ago! It was good back then though. Great location as on the plain, lots of seating etc, good bar service

Always a friendly welcome in this independent cafe/bar with a continental feeling outside space. Had the traditional full English breakfast which was well cooked using quality ingredients & a strong flat white.

Don't even want to put a 1 star rating because that's means something was okay, to be fair the toast, egg and beans were fine, but the service was the worst I've ever encountered!! For a £12 50 breakfast you would think it was going to be the best breakfast in Oxford, sadly not!!! Tick tock for me in future at half the price and the staff are sooo lovely.

Really letting yourselves down with extremely slow service… I’ve been there twice and both times my order has been forgotten and not put through the system. It was lunchtime and I had work to do… got my order 45 minutes later. The kitchen not prioritising it either. It was quite frustrating. Food is also getting worse considering it’s pricey. That’s a shame, it used to be great. The atmosphere is excellent, the service a lot less.

We had such a delicious breakfast here. We sat outside and watched the world go by in the sunshine. The staff were very attentive, and it really felt like we were having breakfast in a holiday location. Highly recommend xx

Went here for breakfast, it wasn't very good. The parts of the vegan breakfast were cold, and the portion size and quality was pretty disappointing for £11. The wait for food was too long, and one of our group got their food 20 minutes before everyone else. We also had to ask 2 different staff members a total of 4 times for tap water. All in all a disappointing experience, leaving me feeling like I could have made a much better breakfast at home.

The only saving grace of this establishment was the food and coffee wasn't terrible. On the other hand, for a Sunday afternoon, the service was incredibly slow, we had to go out of our way to request that the table - which we were actively deterred from taking by the man at the door - be wiped down, and the glass in which the water was served had to be returned on the basis that it was only half washed. I can't fault the serving staff, who were doubtless trying their level best, but I do fault whoever is in charge of managing the establishment. If you are going to open an eatery that prides itself on its offer of all day breakfast on a Sunday, in an area highly frequented by students, then do us all a favour and add some more staff to the rota, because in its current state I could not be induced to return.

What a great place and Clint is a cracking guy, came here for my daughter and he took the time out of his busy day to chat to her, then came back for dinner (for Chorizo pizza) and met the lovely Raffi, who is equally brilliant and lovely.

I entered this place excited to have a breakfast. The decoration also looked good. The place was empty except one client with her kid. Unfortunately, the personnel was awful. They sat us down to the smallest table(you could barely fit two plates) that was ever produced, even though the place was empty. I asked the waiter to change us(we were two people) table and he denied saying that this is a table for two people. I asked him why the lady sits on a table for 5 people and they are only 1.5 people. He said and I quote "because". That was it we just stood up and left. Awful service from a too "debonair" staff. I cannot say about the food

We went here early in the morning (10 AM lol) for breakfast, a bit skeptical because the average rating was a bit low. However, it exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere was very calm and cozy, and the service was excellent. We felt neither rushed nor needing to chase down the server for anything. Our food was delicious and we left very full and satisfied. Cafe Coco will definitely become a tradition!

We had the full English BF, large portion, enjoyable, reasonable (non-budget) price; the staff were good, polite. The interior is what one would imagine a place on the seafront to be, rather than in Oxford, but a pretty relaxing and comfortable place.

Cafe Coco, to put it in one word is AMAZING. Amazing food. The breakfast is absolutely incredible, highly highly recommend the super food porridge with fruit !!!! But also highly recommend all the other options !!!!!!!!!

The ambiance of this cafe is lovely. The food isn't extraordinary but it is nice and not much to fault at all, great place to go for a casual lunch. Very reasonably priced and good service too.

This is a lovely, really stylish cafe with lovely brunch options. I had a particularly nice waffle with fresh fruit. It was very well presented and extremely tasty. The staff were friendly and welcoming and I would definitely come back here to try some more of the menu.

Excellent food and fruit juice! We had the Vegetarian mezze and mergues salad to share - lovely food! The mint, pineapple, orange & lime juice drink - delicious! Service was exemplary, really attentive and friendly.

This is a great little brunch spot. Even with 5 people we only had to wait about 15 mins for seating on a Sunday morning. The large menu is served all day which gives lots of options for everyone. I had the honey ham, eggs, and swapped my skinny fries for garlic potatoes. So yummy. We also had cappuccinos with oat milk. I’m normally not a fan but it was fantastic. Thanks Cathy for the great recommendation. The service was quick and lots of teamwork to make everything flow. I did notice a 10% service charge on all diners regardless of party size. Cathy is amazing btw! Thanks again!

Stopped by for a brunch in the sun with our toddler. Service from start to finish was fantastic, despite them being busy, and they were super attentive. They offered a high chair, child friendly food/ drink and distractions for our toddler which made our lunch much more enjoyable & relaxing. Brunch options were good and food very tasty. The set up was covid friendly and we felt very safe being there. Thanks to the Team x

We headed to Coco’s to enjoy a rare breakfast date, child-free! We sat outside in the sunshine and received quick and excellent service by our hostess Cathy. Nothing was too much trouble. And the food excellent and reasonably priced.

The outdoor space is lovely - the little side street feels like you're on holiday! Georgie was so friendly and attentive and the food was great (plenty of veggie options!). Will definitely be coming again.

Been past them several times and finally gave it a go (pre lockdown). Good selection of food and was tasty. Plus they had an interesting range of drinks - can see why they're popular. Has a continental feel and staff are OK. Worth a visit.

Great Coco is open again! Had an amazing full breakfast. Staff really outstanding- about menu options , friendly, just the right level of attentiveness. COVID measures made us feel very safe. Food all freshly prepared with lovely colourful ingredients. Can’t wait to go back.

Sucedió estar en Cowley Road visitando Peleton Expresso y cuando terminó vi un enorme letrero sobre los asientos al aire libre de Coco que proclamaba que las hamburguesas de Coco eran consideradas las mejores en Oxford. . . Hubo un ligero comentario a Burgers de Byrons y GBK (como lugares "aspiracionales" ...). Y una foto de la hamburguesa que se ofrecía, que tenía patatas fritas delgadas y ensalada de repollo y un tentador "bollo sin semillas". Así que las expectativas se establecieron altas. . . mejor hamburguesa en Oxford. . .Tomó un poco de tiempo sacar mi mesa afuera. . . tres jóvenes camareras bastante apresuradas que tratan con brunchistas, etc. Finalmente me senté y pedí no tomar la ensalada de repollo en lugar de pedir papas fritas adicionales. . . y también no pedir salsa (no una, sino dos veces para estar seguro de que me entendieron) en la hamburguesa.Llega el plato y se proporcionan chips adicionales en lugar de la ensalada de col. . . súper. . . El bollo sin semillas era genial ya la parrilla. . . pero estaba probando más que la hamburguesa de carne, que era pequeña y muy seca. La salsa mayonesa no debe incluirse, cuando dije específicamente 2 x para asegurarme de que se anotara. . . sin ejecutar.Luego pedí la factura y nuevamente existe esta práctica cada vez más vulgar de agregar un cargo por servicio opcional del 10%. . . ¿Pueden los restaurantes del Reino Unido dejar de hacer esta práctica cada vez más molesta? Visitamos Café Coco con la esperanza de almorzar y un par de copas de vino en circunstancias seguras.Solo hemos visitado lugares en Oxford con comida al aire libre desde que se alivió el cierre, y hemos tenido diferentes experiencias sobre cómo el personal ha manejado la situación de la pandemia. Cafe Coco no defrauda. Desde el registro a la llegada, la insistencia en que usamos el gel para manos provisto, el personal con máscaras y limpiando cada mesa entre invitados, y todo esto mientras mantenemos el encanto relajado que hemos llegado a esperar del personal de Coco a lo largo de los años. . Los asientos al aire libre se han ampliado y la promesa de una cubierta de toldo a medida que llega el otoño también es bienvenida. Nos sentimos completamente seguros y cuidados.La comida era deliciosa como siempre. Nuestros aperitivos picantes de Bloody Mary se complementaron con tzatziki y pan plano de ajo. S tenía una ensalada de superalimento cubierta con salmón a la parrilla. Mi pizza de tomate seco de rúcula, prosciutto y albahaca estaba perfectamente preparada y la ensalada mixta estaba crujiente y tenía un aderezo sabroso. Lo regamos todo con un par de vasos de la casa blanca que estaba fría y crujiente. Un regalo muy agradable a la hora del almuerzo, volveremos pronto.Recomiendo encarecidamente Cafe Coco para comer y beber de forma segura y agradable, así como para un excelente personal y un ambiente, incluso con asientos al aire libre.
