Great food and the service was amazing

Cafe Coco has become my new favorite spot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. But the absolute best part? Their calzone. It was perfectly baked with a crispy crust on the outside and filled with the most delicious, cheesy goodness on the inside. You can really taste the quality of the fresh ingredients, and the portion size was perfect for a satisfying meal. If you're looking for a great place to eat, I can’t recommend Cafe Coco enough. I’m already looking forward to going back to try more from their menu. Five stars for sure!

Been to coco’s many times and loved it. However it was a significantly poorer experience last time I visited, unfortunately. Ordered two steak baguettes from the new menu which took nearly and hour to come out, and the quality of the food was really subpar. Couldn’t taste the chimichurri, bread was of really poor quality (falling apart) and the steak chewy with no seasoning or flavour. Wait staff seemed unbothered and never checked on our table, had to go to the bar twice to ask for some salt, and then a further two times to ask for the bill and again to pay. Really slow service and staff didn’t seem to care when we asked to remove service charge and no apologies given. I understand that it did get busier in the restaurant but was quiet when we ordered and nearly an hour’s wait for two sandwiches is a bit ridiculous and tables which ordered after us got served before us. This place has really gone downhill, used to be our favourite brunch spot! Disappointed.

VERY underwhelming. Waiters picking his teeth behind the bar. One member of staff said meat was Halal, the other one said it wasn’t, then another one said that only the merguez was so we ordered a dish with that in, it was forgotten. (It happens- but plonking two sausages down afterwards without apologising was hardly great service). We wanted to like it, but the food and service were both not up to scratch.

Coffee was good. Food was good. They were a little short staffed so very long waits and difficulty getting served. Staff were doing their utmost though and managing to get everyone fed.

Honestly don’t have enough positive words to say about this place. Located in a really nice area at the top of cowley road with outside and inside seating, and beautiful in the sun. The food is 10/10, especially the pizzas, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Shout out to Tabby and Ollie for their customer service and friendly attitude. Definitely a place to visit and have breakfast, lunch or supper when in Oxford area.

Atmosphere in the patio area was awful, needs more cars driving through it.

We only stopped off for a coffee but the staff were very friendly and polite. Would definitely return and maybe next time stop for more than a coffee. Would recommend.

I’ve been coming to Coco’s (and their other places) since I’ve been visiting Oxford for 15+ years and cannot recommend enough. The staff are also so friendly, the food is brilliant (in particular the spinach calzone with chili oil), good selection of wines and a funky decor. Highly recommend… great place to while away a few hours.

Dined on a Saturday afternoon with 4 friends, they had sold out of Prosecco (on a Saturday!?) and also didn't have some of the advertised desserts.

What a real shame. Coco’s used to be one of our favourites we visited and enjoyed it often before it started being closed most of the time but lunch on Sunday was simply awful. We had a friend staying who also remembered Coco’s fondly so went there, mistake! It was pretty quiet which should have told us to keep away but we sat down and ordered. Three very different dishes, one vegetarian, one salad, one steak. Of the three the only one that got a thumbs up was the salad, tasty and fresh was the verdict. The vegetarian mezze was pronounced just bizarre, great lumps of vegetables chopped in huge chunks partnered by ‘koftas’ that seemed to be made of crumbly breadcrumbs and a huge pile of what was supposed to be garlic bread but barely had any flavour. The steak was best forgotten, a 3mm thin slice of tough, overcooked, meat is not a rib eye and should not be sold as such, thank god for chips! The owner makes a lot of noise about the damage Oxford councils awful traffic measures are doing to his business but frankly, if this is the best they can do, then bring on closure. It’s possible to eat really well and really badly in oxford and Coco’s has always been one of the more reliable places, no more sadly, we won’t return.

Far too expensive for what you get. We went for the English breakfast, the 2 bacon rashes were the size of a coin & no meet, just all fat, literally, one egg, one handful of half little potatoes, one sausage ..over £12,00...nope, we were not expecting that for that money. The staff us young & quite fool but not attentive, not bringing what asked & when advised in regards, bringing the stuff not received & then charging extra for it! The place is quite nice & situated in a good spit, however scrapped from my list I am afraid. A real shame as the potential is all there

Had the shakshuka early on a Sunday morning. Good service and food was a 4/5.

Ordered a full English breakfast and it turned up without bacon. When I questioned it I was told they had "run out of bacon". It might have been worth mentioning that when I ordered as bacon is quite integral to an English breakfast. I would have had something else if I'd known. Later, when asked how everything was and I mentioned the bacon again I was asked "were you not told?" by the girl who took the order (and had not mentioned the bacon would be missing)! Apparently I should have received an extra sausage but I also did not get this. I was quite surprised that service charge was added to the bill after this. Felt it would be awkward to ask to have it taken off so paid anyway, however have this 1 star review instead!

We found this place by accident when we were hungry and stuck in traffic. It looked understated from outside and quiet. It was only 6pm but the place was packed and had great music and a great atmosphere. Very New York Soho vibe-y. Our pizzas were fantastic.

Turned up and found a table, after 40minutes we still hadn't had menus, then when we finally did, it was another half hour for our order to be taken. When the food finally arrived the breakfasts were all stone cold.

Love Coco! Beautiful place with a beautiful atmosphere. Florence Pugh says “tzatziki goes with everything” so I ordered the Greek Pizza which was absolutely delicious. Her dad (the owner), was there working alongside the staff and was so attentive and friendly. I’m so sad they’ll be closing down soon. Please visit while you still can!!

Great place to visit anytime.

Quite simply our favourite cafe/wine bar of all time. Delicious food-the kedgeree is outstanding- great coffee, and consistently lovely staff over the twenty six years that we have loved this place. A trip to Oxford wouldn't be worth the journey without Cafe Coco.

Terrible service; waitresses were slow and inattentive and overcharged us. Food was poor. The English breakfast was covered in a herby sauce which was disgusting but no one cared to check back on the the food was so we had no opportunity to tell the staff. Only saving grace was the hot chocolate which was good. Won't be returning!

Had to come back because my first visit was so good x the food is amazing and nothing is too much for the manager or staff x another great meal x I travel from Shoreham with friends to eat here x definitely try this cafe x

Dissappointing breakfast here this weekend. Took over an hour for food to arrive with no warning or apology about the wait. Worst of all the food came before our drinks. We asked atleast 4 times for water whilst we were waiting which never ended up arriving. The food was lukewarm, average and expensive. One of our party has an allergy to fat, and stated 3 times she couldnt have butter on her toast, and after waiting an hour for our food both portions of toast she ordered came with butter on. Poorly managed, understaffed cafe with innatentive staff

We went for May Morn (May 1st) as we were told it's a big deal in Oxford. They opened at 6 am.🤪 I had the avocado toast and a latte and my husband had a full English and a cappuccino. The portions were very generous, so much so I couldn't finish mine. We thought the coffee was really lovely and the food was high quality and very tasty. The menu is varied without being overwhelming. Breakfast is served all day for those who wish. The wait staff were absolutely slammed, but still courteous and timely - Thanks,Sophie and Abi? The manager Nick,seems to have everything nicely under control and it was a very pleasant experience, in spite of the ungodly hour. We will definitely be back.

I really loved the vibe here. Easy-going crowd, chilled, with a great outdoor area that's reminiscent of being abroad... Staff are super polite. We had a light dinner and the superfood salad was delicious but too small a portion to be a meal hence the 4 stars..

Me and my partner stopped here after a visit to the botanical garden. Very friendly staff and the food was delicious. Very pleased with the cafe overall and would highly recommend.

Went to visit cafe coco after 5 years as it used to be my favorite place,unfortunately cannot say the same now. The staff was slow and lost, no knowledge of the menu. We waited for the fresh juice (which was basically just water) 15 min(wasnt busy at all), then the staff brought our drink to the other table. It took ages to take the order.When I asked if the superfood salad still comes with salmon, one waitress said yes then other waitress said no. I find it too expensive to pay 17,95 for a trout and 11£ for plain salad - too high difference. A waitress was collecting glasses with her hands and putting them under her armpits(what do we have trays for?) the burger was too basic, without flavor and little bit cold. For 14£ pounds you expect better quality than what McDonald or a Burger King offers you for much less. Garlic bread was hard.the only thing I enjoyed was the salad

The pizza was cold and really bland. The service was slow. We had glasses and plates piling up on the table which weren't taken away while one bar member sat on a stool. Perhaps the owner should look at their priorities and improved the business rather than hoisting huge, offensive politcal slogans around the building.

We went for drinks Bloody Mary and the first one was amazing but the second was not good… and the service was late.

What an absolute vibe! Cafe Coco is one of my fav brunch spots in Oxford. No too spenny and really great food! They cater for a number of dietary requirements too! Deffo recommend if you’re wanting a sunny vibe for your brunch! Staff were also soooo nice and really went above and beyond for us!

Cafe Coco has been an Oxford jewel for over 25 years. You won't find a better place for a slice of Oxford in terms of atmosphere and feel. There's a varied menu of breakfast's, brunches, lunches and dinners. My favourite is the all day breakfast. I've eaten a few around Oxford in my time and Coco's is the best. Good quality, rustic and plentiful. Keep it up Coco - we need you in Oxford in more ways than one!!

Ok pizzas - they are small but not too pricey. Good cocktails. What lets this place down is the service which was at best slow. Despite this, the place has a lovely cafe/bar atmosphere.

Stopped for brunch. Tasty food, service a bit slow and coffee needed to be hotter but otherwise a good choice.

Very good food, however service is a little slow.

Went for a friend's birthday breakfast. Food was fine, but seemed very expensive. However, service was pretty terrible; very slow, inattentive, and in some cases pretty aloof/dismissive. Tap water requested 3 times for the table before it finally came.... The girl who started at 11:00 was far better, but felt like it was a bit late by then. Wouldn't recommend, sorry.

The food was good, although the pizzas were a bit small, however the waiters were really slow to attend to use and to take our orders. The bad surprise came with the bill. The "optional" service charge was already included in the total price and we feld embarrassed to ask for it to be removed in front of the waiter. The service was slow and we were often ignored. Besides, it is not for the customers to directly pay a part of the staff's wages. I'd rather know from the start when reading the menu how much I will pay (with no extra add-ons). I will not come back.

Expensive. Poor service, lack of basic welcoming manner. Music too loud for a Sunday brunch. Food choices were good, if a little pricey.

If you've never been here: Walk in, grab a bite and see what heaven feels like! The Churros pizza was an excellent recommendation by the lovely waitress who served me. It's a bit spicy but the flavours you taste is heavenly. Definitely worth a try!

Go to place for cocktails, although a bit pricey they do the best mojito and long island ice tea. Think I've only ever tried coffee here once and that was about 20 years ago! It was good back then though. Great location as on the plain, lots of seating etc, good bar service

Always a friendly welcome in this independent cafe/bar with a continental feeling outside space. Had the traditional full English breakfast which was well cooked using quality ingredients & a strong flat white.

Don't even want to put a 1 star rating because that's means something was okay, to be fair the toast, egg and beans were fine, but the service was the worst I've ever encountered!! For a £12 50 breakfast you would think it was going to be the best breakfast in Oxford, sadly not!!! Tick tock for me in future at half the price and the staff are sooo lovely.

Really letting yourselves down with extremely slow service… I’ve been there twice and both times my order has been forgotten and not put through the system. It was lunchtime and I had work to do… got my order 45 minutes later. The kitchen not prioritising it either. It was quite frustrating. Food is also getting worse considering it’s pricey. That’s a shame, it used to be great. The atmosphere is excellent, the service a lot less.

We had such a delicious breakfast here. We sat outside and watched the world go by in the sunshine. The staff were very attentive, and it really felt like we were having breakfast in a holiday location. Highly recommend xx

Went here for breakfast, it wasn't very good. The parts of the vegan breakfast were cold, and the portion size and quality was pretty disappointing for £11. The wait for food was too long, and one of our group got their food 20 minutes before everyone else. We also had to ask 2 different staff members a total of 4 times for tap water. All in all a disappointing experience, leaving me feeling like I could have made a much better breakfast at home.
