We visited this place on the 9th, and 10th July. We had a tablec or 4, and this cafe nevers fails to deliver. It is a family run cafe with great service and delicious food. This is our go to cafe whenever we visit Oxford, great food, great service, and the ability to cater for dairy, egg, and gluten free breakfasts! Thank you

Fried egg baguette with coffee on May Morning - delicious! Perfect re-fuelling stop amidst the chaotic celebrations for summer's arrival. I used to come here with my late father and have very happy memories of this cafe from then. Though, sadly, I now visit Oxford more rarely, the TickTock remains a must - and still great value!

There were already several customers enjoying various refreshments and food items as we approached the cafe (this was part of the contributing factor in us choosing to call in, that it seemed to be popular.) The staff were very welcoming and we were quickly seated and presented with a menu. The display of different clocks on the wall certainly made a good talking point and were interesting to look at. Although we only had soft drinks and a flapjack, everything was very tasty and the menu had offered a wide selection at reasonable prices.

My partner and I visit Oxford from Portsmouth every few months and always eat at Tick Tock. The food is delicious and the friendly welcome is fantastic. I normally have the Tick Tock breakfast and my partner enjoys the Special Burger and chips. The café is always clean and such a lovely ambience. It's never noisy or crowded (we tend to eat there about 6pm ). The gentleman who serves us always recognises us and greets us with a smile even though it can be months between each visit. A true gem in the hustle and bustle of the city ☺

I've walked by this place so many times over the years and never thought to go in (despite it having two separate doors!). Had breakfast there today and it was pretty good; decent sized cup of tea and very decent sized breakfast for under a tenner. Quite American diner like inside and fairly small but it wasn't uncomfortably rammed at any point (perhaps because it's so easy to overlook) and I would visit again. They had a cake/patisserie selection too which looked worth trying next time!

If you want cheap no nonsense food at excellent value prices you could do worse than try the tick tock cafe at the end of the Cowley Road. Prices advertised are for eat in or take away and I know of no where else in Oxford where you can eat in and have a panini and bottled water for under £4.00. Yes, if you order a panini or sandwich that's just what you get with no salad, crisps or chips. But at these prices you could easily order more extras if you wanted. Breakfasts being served were hearty and looked good. Again, according to the board great value too. It's a small cafe so I can imagine getting seated at busy times could be difficult.

Hi, This is the 3rd time I take a breakfast at tick tock cafe. Always I take the same English breakfast with tomato and crumble eggs. The first time I ate there was good, the second time was average and this time has been bloody awful. First of all I do not know if the waitress was new but she couldn´t understand my order, when I finally get she understands what I want , she brought me two toasts, one of them burnt, of course I didn´t eat it. But the worse thing was when she brought me the order and theres no fried egg. When I said to her "this is not what I ordered" she replied me saying "yes, with tomato and crumble eggs", and I answered "where is the egg?" she pointed the crumble eggs. When I made her understand what I wanted she brought me the fried egg in a different plate. Probably is because they changed the service staff but I think I am gonna take long time to come back to this place. I scored as "normal" because the other twice times were ok. But not fantastic at all .

This is a proper 'greasy spoon' cafe (but without the grease), no fancy hand reared truffle infused sausages or any of that gubbins. Just a hearty, decent breakfast, coming in at a little over a fiver and with a huge mug of tea for £1.30, not hard to see why it's so busy. This small cafe is decked out with red booths reminiscent of a traditional American diner and if you hadn't guessed by the name, they love clocks so there are clocks everywhere, many with photo faces, you might spot your favourite band on one. Staff were friendly and efficient, toast was brought out hot with the butter underneath which meant it was spreadable immediately. We both really enjoyed our breakfasts, good mushrooms in particular, bacon was cooked to perfection (ie with what little fat there was, crisped but not cremated). Will definitely be back

We have passed this café many times on our way to & from work but never eaten there, today we did, as you enter it has a bright retro diner style layout which can surprisingly seat a lot of people considering the cosy size, we had 2 cups of really good coffee, she had a mozzarella & sundried tomato Panini & I had a full English breakfast, both piping hot, delicious & arriving quickly. This is not gourmet food - if you want that level go to Quod or the Old Parsonage, Tick Tock is good wholesome food at a really good price (our bill just £13 !) lots of other meals & drinks available, & at these prices we will be going back, the staff are very friendly & the place is spotlessly clean & warm, if you are bored you can always while away some considerable time guessing which one of the many clocks actually tells the correct time - find the one without numbers !

When you walk in you are greeted with warm smiles. The decor is not frightful. Even if it's not to your taste, it is spotlessly clean, the walls are covered in clocks, hence Tick Tock. They have diner style bright red seats. In the grey Winter, especially,it looks cheerful. Unlike many eating places, even the floors and toilet are always clean. The baguettes are freshly baked. The breakfasts are so well cooked- their speciality, I would say. The vegetarian breakfast, the best I have tasted anywhere, and always well presented, with garnishes, you don't get even in posher or pricier restaurants. It is not an after- thought as many vegetarian breakfasts can be, With good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection, I give them 10 out of 10. By cheap, doesn't mean a "greasy spoon." The quality and quantity are superb, and good value. The owners are on site to ensure a friendly and welcoming service to all.

It doesnt try to be posh like CoCo up the road, it is a small cafe that serves cheap and cheerful food. And when i say cheap please dont be put off, i uses 'cheap' for want of a better word. The staff are lovely, always friendly and attentive, without being in your face or annoying. They always smile and they seem genuinely happy to see you which makes you feel very welcome. If you're in Oxford and you fancy a no frill breakfast or lunch you should definitely check out Tick Tock. Was on a walk down Cowley Road recently 2 weeks ago, have popped into Café Coco nearby normally, but thought would give this a go, as drove pass recently and see a sign advertising 'all day breakfast' so on walking down towards this and passing a packed Café Coco we entered a deserted Tick Tock Café thinking what we had let ourselves in for, it looked nice with the Red/Orange Diner Seats, so thought we would give it a go, I had Breakfast, wife had Jacket Potatoes and daughter had Chocolate Brownie, well I was excellent and enjoyed immense that we will be back again. Was telling a Pal about it, and he told me of his experience in there, saying food was good but, was charged additional vat charge, he had only noticed it when after eaten he was looking up at the prices and realised the price it should of been instead of what he had paid for, he made a comment to the person behind the counter, saying he should of been asked regards this charge, he wont be back again, but I will......so don't try this on me! Maybe they mistook my pals as being tourist, so I will be aware when I am in, in the future. So little sneaky whoever is trying this on customers, when they should not, take note, word will spread on people reading this and word of mouth!

This small little family owned cafe is located near the start of the Cowley road, just a few door downs from the Magdalen roundabout. It focuses on breakfast and english cafe food and is cheap and cheeful inside. It is targeted at the students that live in the area but is accessible for all. I had chicken nuggets and chips for less then five pounds and my friend had a large slice of brownie (which was very soft) and a coffee for three pounds, a hint of the reasonable pricing. The decor inside is clear and laid out, despite the limited space the cafe has to use. There are many clocks of vafying sizes and space, hence the name. Tick Tock Cafe. If you are around the Cowley Road area and require a venue that does large filling portions of breakfast for reasonable prices, I do recommend this venue. Just before a walk around the Cowley/Iffley area or on the walk back from one, this cafe would be a good stop off.

Cute little LGBT bar/pub. I found out about this place through TikTok and visited during my travels to the UK. I unfortunately came during the week when not many people were there but was still very welcoming.

Very friendly family run business. Great food and brilliant quality and quantity food. Will definitely be going here again

One of the best pubs in Oxford. Still a « proper » pub. Very friendly staff with landlord Jimmy at the helm , wide range of drinks, good food. Inside is warm, cosy, full of atmosphere, and a crackling fire to boot. Lovely mix of clientele. The large garden has been refreshed: loads of tables, outside bar, pretty garden, big screens for sporting events but never intrusive if you’re not interested. A gem of a pub.
