The best restaurants serving British food in Maidstone South East

Wonderful Victorian street corner local. Friendly, great atmosphere. And great beer - this is real ale heaven! Goachers, Kent Brewery, Vocation and London Beer Lab beers all on and in excellent condition. A "proper" pub!!!

Took my elderly mother in law with other family plus dog for Friday lunch. We were extremely warmly received by Erol and had a lovely table near the roaring fire. First off, the local brew was one of the best. Had the home baked bread as a nibble with our drinks. It was made with charcoal and flour but light and airy with a fab flavour and served with homemade herb butter (Erol grows and dries his own oregano!) I had the fish and chips. Fresh Pollock (sustainable 👍) in a light crisp batter which was cooked to perfection and the chips perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. 11 out of 10! We also had the spicy chicken wings which were finger licking good. My mother in law had homemade celeriac soup which was utterly delicious. It’s not often that after I eat out I feel the urge to write a glowing review but The Harrow and our wonderful experience made me feel the need. Definitely going back for more.

We went on Friday afternoon, Food was lovely but I was really ill that night, I was vomiting & stomach pain.....

We had a lovely meal new year's eve. Our food was delicious. We had some delicious bread to share which was very tasty. I had pork and my partner had shepherds pie, the food was so delicious and perfectly cooked. We also had desserts they were amazing too. The service was great. Friendly staff who went above and beyond for you. We also had a few drinks in the bar, again great service and everyone including the customers were very friendly. We stayed at the property the rooms were very clean with comfortable beds. We had breakfast included with our stay which was also very tasty.

Went to creams for daughters birthday not a great experience she found hair in her ice cream dessert,service was slow food wasn't great 😑 she was disappointed we won't be going again.

Bed and breakfast package at Leeds Castle. On the night of arrival we took the opportunity to eat in the Castle View restaurant. It did disappoint. Service was good. (We wanted to tip they can only take cash tips - Leeds Castle- you need to sort this out, not fair on your restaurant staff). Food was great. Both had pork belly main. Cutlery & glasses nice and clean. Good wine menu. Nice atmosphere with views onto the castle. Ate elsewhere the second night and wished we had another meal here. Have added some images of the night & food.

this is a great place to go for lunch so much verity of food and lots of places to sit. The food and the service was really good we was served by sue

Gemma was a fantastic lady provided great customer service very helpful and friendly she was amazing She went out of her way to get a specific drink and she came with the right drink and gives us a great service

Love this pub for a drink, food is fabulous!

Walnut Tree and The George CLOSED Boat House offers a friendly good quality riverside stop for lunch and drinks.Bus service to war memrial from maidstone and walk accross the meadow.

The Valentine's Day Meal was very pleasant, with adequate choices and the welcome Cocktail was a nice touch. I think there could be improved parking for disabled patrons, as it is very difficult to park with a wheelchair. If you use the disabled parking in the big car park it is a long uneven journey for a wheelchair user. All the courses we had were delicious. Some of the waiting staff need to learn to ask if you want anything further, once they have served you. Georgie was a very good Access Host. We haven't been hear for a while but will certainly return in the summer.

Lovely dinner sitting on the terrace overlooking the park. Well timed and friendly service from Katie. The swordfish was delicious. Reasonable prices too.

Went for lunch with Son and Grandson. Delicious Fish & Chips. Grandson had Sausages and chips . Ate everything. Very friendly atmosphere. Would recommend. Family friendly.
