Breakfast is great. Very quick service and good value for money. Will definitely be back again - might try lunch next time

Every time I order the quality is always consistent. Particularly recommend the cookie doughs. Why go to a sloppy chain when you can support a fantastic independent!

Went with a friend for light lunch. Tuna and spring onion sandwich was two slices of cheap sliced bread, scrape of butter, no discernable mayonnaise, small amount of filling. Dry and uninspiring, no garnish on plate. Poor value. Friend's toasted veraion of same equally bad. Not impressed.

Our first visit, following a recommendation that the Cinnamon buns were worth making the journey for (they were!). We also bought 3 sourdough loaves - one of each variety - and the ones we didn't eat straight away have frozen and defrosted beautifully.

My friend and I called in here whilst shopping round town, had a coffee and a slice of one of their cakes which was delicious, the portions are also very big! Really cute cafe overlooking the park.

Brilliant country pub. Delicious local food and a super shop with fresh cake and pastry. Not a massive walk from Knepp wilding either.

I’m not sure what my expectations of a sandwich in this pub were, but what I got far exceeded any expectation! I had the halloumi, avocado and chilli oil sandwich on their homemade sourdough. Holy heck it was good!! And the chips were delicious too. Lovely service and a great atmosphere - I’m excited to go back!

Very friendly staff. Waiting time good for time of day. We both had brunch one of my eggs was overcooked no black pudding on both plates and added some type of picked onion which wasn't on the menu. Maybe to replace the missing black pudding.

Planned a Saturday lunch walk with this pub in the middle. Was very excited to go from the good reviews for food but kitchen closed. Two others in the very tired pub with unfriendly staff who as we were sat in the empty forecourt asked us if we were going to use the pub very much to try and move us on. Go to The Fox much friendlier and wonderful menu.

Probably one of the best pubs I’ve visited! The staff are super friendly, Natalie & Scott (Head chef) were so accommodating with the menu as my hubby is Celiac. The GF fish & chips were divine, my veg lasagne was amazing! Great music, great vibe & we asked if we could ‘rock up’ in their car park with our campervan & it was a definite ‘Yes!’ I would recommend this pub 100%. Noticed a great play park for kids & patio area outside. You won’t be disappointed 👍

Outstanding nut roast, going back for that again for sure! Paul had the lamb which he said was really good. Lived nearby for years and passed numerous times but never been in, won the Sussex Local crossword so booked to get my prize, so glad we did! 💖✨️

6 of us had lunch here yesterday. Lovely building and surroundings, with pretty gardens and views. Food was all very good, with the roasts being some of the best we’ve had for a long time. Starters and desserts also very good and well presented. Good choice of wine but all seemed well overpriced, and the sommelier was dressed too casually for a restaurant of this standard.

Great and friendly service food was really tasty and good value as well. Rare to find a very nice decaffeinated coffee these days

We were gifted this as a wedding present and enjoyed the tasting menu. Seated right at the windows to the pass, my husband had the perfect view into the kitchens: as an avid foodie this was a dream for him. Monica led a front of house team that were wonderful; attentive, friendly yet professional and bursting with knowledge. The array of glasses for wine and sake and the stunning cutlery were touches I had never seen before. The calm from the kitchen and the total focus from Ben Wilkinson and such a young team of chefs was incredible. However the stand out for me were the wine flights; I had the signature and my husband had the discovery. Wow!! Discovery included 2 sakes and 2 orange wines and I have found probably my favourite wine ever! It was relaxed, comfortable, stimulating, engrossing and stunning- so much more than going out for a meal; a total immersive experience. Well done to the team and thank you. The memories will live long.

Incredible atmosphere! Really great staff, friendly and approachable. A warm home from home feeling to the place. I was attending an art course nearby and it was such a joy to be able to come back at the end of each day and sit with the glass of wine by the fire, enjoy a beautiful meal in the restaurant and then sleep in such a comfortable bed. I'll be back! Margriet
