Went with a friend for light lunch. Tuna and spring onion sandwich was two slices of cheap sliced bread, scrape of butter, no discernable mayonnaise, small amount of filling. Dry and uninspiring, no garnish on plate. Poor value. Friend's toasted veraion of same equally bad. Not impressed.

We were visiting from Ireland for the weekend and met up with some family yesterday for coffee and cake. Excellent place, very relaxing, the people were very friendly and the carrot cake was delicious. We'll be back.

Lovely find. We have lived in Woodmancote for many years but never ventured to the tea rooms until recently. We were very pleasantly surprised to hear it was dog friendly as we’d just come from a walk through the green. We were a group of four with a Doberman and a baby and the staff were lovely and attentive especially the lady who served us inside and the gentleman who was our waiter. Food was lovely, I had tuna sandwich’s with hot fresh chips. My partner had egg ham and chips, my sister had a salad and her partner had the loaded fries. We would thoroughly recommend! The price was amazing also took us by surprise being used to Brighton prices! Very cute garden out front lovely place to sit and have lunch on a sunny day.

Very disappointing. After ordering, what was a quiet and relaxing first get-together for years turned into a nightmare when customers with a dog arrived and allowed it to bark incessantly - inside - so that we couldn‘t hear our own voices. The owner did nothing to stop the noise. Dog friendly yes, but sadly at the expense of non - dog owners.

Me and my wife went there .Wasn’t expecting the quality uniqueness ambience of such a little place. It was the only serving only you roast dinners on Sunday. Which was fine we had a choice of three meat chicken lamb and beef mean the wife had the beef it was divine the uniqueness of it was it had the vegetables as a family service so the meat and potatoes came in plate and then the vegetables were served in a bowl to help yourself with a selection of fresh vegetables which were piping hot and lovely and full of colour and taste , also came with me with extra jug of gravy which I thought was a nice touch, and then for pudding we had a lime and lemon cheesecake which was subtle and really tasty.Five stars I rate this and that and I would go back.I’m very pleasant afternoon

Welcoming staff, lovely selection of food. We sat in the garden, which although was out front by the main road it was well screened by all the plants and really was very pretty.

We loved spending a relaxing and un-rushed time in the tea gardens, eating freshly made tasty lunchtime treats. The staff were lovely and the menu was ideal. Although there is indoor seating, the garden seating area was delightful, and the dogs were just as welcome as the humans. Quite a gem of a tea room!

Lovely setting could be so much more. Menu too basic no drinks listed sandwich and jkt pot fillings arnt listed either neither what you get included the cream/ afternoon. Teas, cakes.Only open Thurs to Sunday we drove through Henfield one day and turned up on a Monday no signage to say opening hours or menu. Was also we thought pricey. A shame could be a real gem but definitely needs tweeking.

I took my sister who had a birthday this weekend for afternoon tea as a surprise. WOW what a lovely place. We had a lovely selection of sandwiches quiche chocolate brownies and scones with cream and jam. Everything was homemade and delicious. The owner was a very good host and friendly and made us so welcome. All the other staff were brilliant. The tea house was very clean and inviting and very retro and the garden was very pretty with no overcrowding. Even though we live a fair distance from the tea garden Horsham and Southampton we will most certainly return for a Sunday lunch. Thank you all for such a lovely experience. Best wishes Sue and Carol .

Awful service and have the cheek to charge 10% service charge with no compromise despite bad service. Family of 4 adults and 3 kids, ordered as menu indicated certain foods available on a Sunday but then told could only order roasts at £8.95 each. Asked about smaller options for children and told can arrange this. We got smaller portions but still charged £8.95 for a full adult roast and they insisted the kids had the same portions as the adults. Kids ages 1, 4 and 7 and we were forced to pay 3 full prices for their meals. And further insult as a hair was found in one adult dish and not hers as she is blonde and hair was red. She didn't eat her meal and when told staff member about it, she was told you should have told us earlier when you got stuck into your meal. She replied advising she stopped eating at point of finding the hair and no way she would have known earlier that it was in the food. Another dish didn't have a Yorkshire pudding and all served with no condiments. Will never step foot near this place again

Delicious late breakfast in the garden! My boyfriend had the cooked breakfast, it came in a pan and he was very pleased with his choice. I had the ham egg and chips: I highly recommend that dish, it was very good, the ham was so full of flavour, not full of fat, just a nice neat ham, the only fat was at the edge, which is normal. So I was very happy just at the look of it! Lovely bright fried eggs and jenga chips, yum yum. Very nice latte too. We took 2 take-away slices of the freshly delivered Banofee pie, it has a reputation and we had to have some for later! We also really enjoyed being able to seat outside in this lovely garden, where the tables are well spaced and the seats are comfortable. And last but not least, it has to be noted that the waitresses are lovely, smiley and welcoming, which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Well done Henfield Tea Gardens! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We booked in for Sunday roast, not something you'd expect from a tea garden/cafe. First of all the setting, all I can say is stunning, beautiful sun trap gardens, beautifully laid out, stunning plants and gardens. Location is off the high Street but feels like a secluded garden and very intimate. We had a big table to ourselves and instantly felt welcomed by the welcoming staff. Service was on point and smiles all around, the staff are all on the ball and although it was fairly busy they made sure that we were OK for drinks etc. Really pleasant atmosphere to sit and relax in. The food was absolutely delicious, decent portions, tender lamb, potatoes were crispy, veg was cooked perfectly. After we ate we had a look around the inside and some great bits of quirky unique furniture for sale or to browse. Really added to the experience. All in all I wouldn't dream of giving this place a big fat 10 out of 10 as it really is a gem to eat and enjoy the setting. Superb!!

We were very pleased to find such a wonderful outdoor seating area to enjoy the first outing since the Christmas lockdown. The gardens tables were well spread out, and as we sat and watched people come and go each table and chair were cleaned between uses. Table service was good, we were checked on several times by each of the members of staff. I had a gorgeous gluten free chocolate cake which was very decadent and delicious. My husband had a cheese and ham sandwich which he said was nice. We ordered tea to drink, each of our pots made two cups. (They are also licensed for alcohol but it was still a bit early for us) The garden itself was amazing, lots of trees and plants, with labels so you knew what they were. They sold plants and lovely wooden furniture as well, which seems a reasonable price. It was their first day open so the negatives should not be taken too much to heart. The menu was a bit vague, as in, “sandwiches” and “Fresh Cakes”. I assume types of cakes and sandwich fillers probably gets written up on the little chalk board outside when they have found their feet again. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We've visited the Boars Head a few times recently and it has been consistently excellent. Today we both had the beef bourguignon, it was delicious. A generous portion of beautifully tender beef with mash made for a great meal, dessert was an impossibility on this occasion. The welcome and service has been impeccable on every visit as well The management are clearly working hard to achieve and maintain a high standard in every aspect of what they do. We ate mid-afternoon today (Saturday) without booking but I'd suggest that booking is essential for lunch and evening meals at the weekends. We have also had the Sunday lunch on a couple of occasions and that has been to the same standard.

Driven passed this pub at least 30 times on way to Gatwick over the years but never stopped. Visited on Thursday 26th September at 1:30pm. Reasonable sized car park with lots of spaces. Pub has oak beams which gives it a real traditional vibe. Didn’t book a table but was able to be seated straight away. Good choice on the menu. We had ciabatta baguettes (one halumi one sausage/onion) washed down with a Prosecco and a beer. Service good and baguettes only £9 each. View out the back of the pub over the South Downs is stunning! Worth knowing that last food orders are 2pm for lunch. Would definitely return.

Free entry to explore the marvellous gardens at Leonardslee when booking the Ultimate experience. A thorough wine tasting, brilliantly conducted by 'Simba', a true credit to his profession as a sommelier. Fabulous wines and that Sabre moment when the cork is 'popped', my friend did this with such distinction. An excellent, delicious Afternoon Tea followed, nothing waste much of a problem, photo opportunity, carrot cake a welcome extra but 'Simba' created the icing on the cake. Fantastic experience.

Every time I order the quality is always consistent. Particularly recommend the cookie doughs. Why go to a sloppy chain when you can support a fantastic independent!
