Fantastic sandwiches great selection of fillings with lovely choice of bread to match. I had the goats cheese, brie and fig sandwich on granary. My husband had the ploughmans (cheddar and blue cheese). It was appreciated that he was asked whether we were ok with all the salad items. Very pleasant customer experience. We used to come here to eat in few years ago but glad to say quality and service remains excellent.

Booked back in October for the festive lunch with a group of friends. Drinks on arrival didn’t turn up to the table for a good 45 minutes after then only 2 came, eventually the others came with the hot drinks, followed by the children’s food. The restaurant was relatively busy upon arrival and the staff were busy, and table not ready. The food came out, it looked lovely but in all honesty for £27 it wasn’t that nice, we had 3 sandwich fingers with festive fillings, 2 scones one plain, one cranberry and a selection of mini cakes that all tasted of mince pies (they did look good though) The restaurant it self was beautifully decorated with a lovely atmosphere and was warm (a little too warm for me but the staff did open the door for us, which was nice.) I’m not sure I’d return as although the atmosphere and staff were lovely, I had to get up to ask for drinks, spoons for deserts and even get my own menu and the wait was long as the restaurant went quiet before our food came out which was all cold anyway, so not sure on why the wait.

A chicken and bacon panini was ordered ( crispy bacon) a tiny piece of bacon the size of your finger nail was in it , I’d eaten half of it thinking this hasn’t got bacon in it , when I asked “ shouldn’t there be bacon in this ?” I was told they would bring me another complete dish. The waitress returned and said as I’d eaten so much of the panini ( half of one of the two panini) they would only bring some bacon for the side . So basically the half I’d eaten , I get a bit of bacon to eat separately and the other one , i would get I could “ put into the other one I hadn’t eaten “ I thought this wasn’t a good solution and I thought the waitress was a bit rude . If you aren’t giving someone any bacon in a chicken and bacon panini , you don’t offer a side bit of bacon to make you own panini and then get annoyed at the customer because they don’t like that idea . It’s not my fault you didn’t put bacon in in the first place , it’s your fault and should have brought out a new one out without all this hassle in the first place . By the way the person sitting to our left , sent a cake back twice , as it was too dry . I know there are good reviews for this cafe , but just be careful you keep your standards up ,or more of these reviews will start to come in and your “ good reputation “ won’t be good for long I was not impressed with the attitude or service I was there at 11.43am Sunday morning

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Brookfield hotel. We had a function on the Saturday night which was a 7 course meal and I have to say I was blown away with the service and the reassurance of my gluten free options, I could literally have exactly the same dishes as everyone else with just a couple of tweaks I couldn’t believe it! A lovely gentleman served me who I think was a manager (I am so sorry I cannot remember his name) which made me feel so looked after as it can be daunting eating out somewhere new! All staff were helpful and made the evening run smoothly it was very professional! The room was basic but clean and had everything we needed, the only thing I would say is more plug sockets but that’s not the end of the world! Also it was a bit expensive for room service as a sausage and bacon sandwich ended up being £13.45 including tray service but again with inflation maybe that’s why it was that much! Apart from that there was plenty of parking at a small charge and the hotel was easy to get around. Thank you for looking after us, it was the best meal I’ve had as a coeliac plus the most I’ve ever been able to eat!
