The food is nice enough I just think it’s overpriced for what you get. Eggs served on one slice of toast for around £8. Toast as a breakfast item: £5. I don’t quite get why it’s so busy as there are many other breakfast options in Emsworth. I could not really relax during my meal as there was a queue of people outside staring through the window whilst waiting for a table and some overexcited people talking/shouting inside, dogs barking etc ..on the plus side the little garden room at the back looks great a nice addition

We have visited here a few times in the last couple months , we love the atmosphere , the energy and politness of the young girls waitressing , we were seated almost immediately and drinks were brought out promptly whist deciding what to have for breakfast. The food came out pretty quick and was lovely as always.I find you are ok whilst ordering what is on the menu, but if you ask for any changes of any additional items this becomes costly.I don't mind paying for extras but 1 x field mushroom £2 for a regular size mushroom, I think this is extortionate. Just a word of advice be mindful of any extra's but don't let that put you off it really is a lovely cosy place, friendly , dog friendly too.

Poor service. Had to ask for a clean glass. Had to ask twice for a knife as the waitress forgot the first time. Seemed like it was too much trouble. Had to ask for an actual copy of the bill as I was just given the card machine with an amount on. Pancakes we're "home made and fluffy" tasted very far from home made and certainly weren't fluffy. Maybe we just went on an off day but we personally wouldn't rush back. 😕

First visit to Emsworth in a few years - found Driftwood & are definitely going to be returning. Emsworth is a lovely town with waterfront walks and some super fun shops, Driftwood is the ultimate spot for a relaxed spot of lunch served with confidence and a touch of humour. Great menu, very daily priced, staff are personable & friendly - food was lovely with strong Gluten Free options also!! Well worth a visit!

This was our first visit with no queue on entry however we did arrive between breakfast finishing and lunch starting. We sat at a recently vacated table that was immediately cleaned before seating. Drinks ordered taken within a couple of minutes and food order swiftly followed. We were advised kitchen sourced items and cakes/afternoon tea items could arrive at the table different times…which was nice to be advised. Both our orders arrived promptly despite being very busy on a Sunday morning. All waiting staff were young, very efficient, warm and friendly with a ‘can do attitude’ Our food was well presented with great taste and of a high quality. Finally really nice, clean well presented loos too! Well worth a visit.

What a lovely little cafe/restaurant, very warm cheeky welcome, I absolutely loved the decor and warm feeling. I didn’t have a great time here. Won’t be coming back to this place. My dog and I were in the backyard/open space of the cafe. My dog has weed on the tree and the not so friendly lady approached me and told me and my dog to go out because dogs should not use it as a toilet. There’s no sign saying not to let dogs wee there, also place said it’s dog friendly. She even told the old woman not to put the dog on her lap while she’s sitting on a chair. I don’t mind if they tell you in a polite manner.. but the way she spoke was very unwelcoming. Food does not taste great anyway. I bet she is the manager.. but she should learn to talk in a nice way to people.

It looks just like a caff but it’s much much more. The menu is varied from interesting sandwiches, paninis to jacket potatoes and I think there is a lunch menu. The staff are well mannered, bright young girls but by no means amateurs. They are pleasant, efficient and have been well trained. There’s an interesting option of having a cup of soup with some of the choices. There are plenty of staff and the service is fast but not hurried. Also the place is bigger than you think with an outside courtyard and at the far end a glass fronted extension with log burner stove that we want to try next time. I shouldn’t be raving about Driftwood as this is what a café should be but unfortunately rarely are. We’ve been to Emsworth many times and missed this place as it’s just a bit further from the square; but we won’t be going anywhere else in future - and it’s licensed !!

The order was dealt with in good time and the food was good quality. The only thing I and my wife would really complain about, and we should have sent them back, was the fresh tomatoes were almost raw which just took the edge off. Next time I will have them well done, but other than that, will definitely go back

I never write a poor review. I always look for the good and to others’ perspectives. But my experience here was so below standard I feel it’s important to share and for managers to learn. We arrived for a breakfast and the waitress was warm and welcoming. We were instantly drawn to ‘Kay’ the manager’s energy as she waltzed around dressed all in black like a black cloud around the place. Snapping and being short with the team who appeared timid and by our views- were doing their best. The manager made everyone in the ‘pod’ feel uncomfortable the way she came in and out like on patrol. Her energy and vibe was tense and unfriendly and customers on different tables were locking eyes and noticing this. When we went to pay we smiled and thanked her and she stuck her nose in the air and turned her cheek. Not the charm and culture that encompasses Emsworth. Management need training from the rest of the team who we all agreed need a medal for being in the receiving ended of her diva-energy. Uncomfortable and unwelcome.

It's always, a pleasure to come to Driftwood. Today we parked in Beach Road and walked along the rather muddy foreshore. Timing spot on and a Table awaited. Lunch of Fresh Orange Juice, beer for my wife and two "Winter Toasties". A delicious concoction of Chicken / Turkey with Cranberry and a beautiful, well dressed, Salad. Service good, as ever and, warm and toasty within - apart from the monsoon outside. The negative note came with the Coffee. I am a non Tea drinking Coffee addict, and Macciato is my chosen brew. Really bitter. Not sure if you have changed supplier, but my wife declined a Coffee as she said she hadn't enjoyed it last time... But will return, obviously. Hayling Seagoon

The service is friendly and efficient including the lady that appears to be the Manager. Very welcoming and smart - great first impression. All staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. First visit had the butternut squash soup and yesterday the mushroom soup / both very tasty and great consistency, paninis also delicious with lovely garnish. Also had coffees and cakes which I couldn’t fault. Reasonably priced and all very clean. Told us that we needed wait, had said we had been for 20 minutes and then she argued that. Stopped off in Emsworth for coffee on the way to Portsmouth and The Driftwood was recommended by a friendly local. The place was bustling by 10:30, but we didn't have long to wait to get seated. Staff extremely welcoming and helpful. As you would expect in a coastal town, there was a distinct marine vibe to the decor but it was tastefully done, with paintings by local artists featuring large. The scones were super fresh and fluffy and the coffee was good quality. The Flat White could have been made a little stronger but that is a minor criticism. A pleasant experience all round.
