Great pub. Good food and my preferred venue for live music

Excellent food and friendly staff. We had fabulous burgers and loaded fries and the bread and butter pudding was delicious. Highly recommend.

Landlord seems very much to be a control freak if he can be bothered to turn up. A pub in decline with locals rejecting the venue and migrating elsewhere and guess who put them off? Now you are losing customers and money.

Good live music venue but drinks very expensive

Had a pint at The Heroes in Waterlooville – it was epic! The staff are like beer ninjas with a great sense of humour. The local brew was so good, I almost felt like a superhero. The regulars? Hilarious and welcoming. If you need a heroic pint, this is the place!

Expensive drink if you forget to put your details in the car park machine , get a £100 fine that apparently the establishment cannot reverse for you even when you produce the receipt for the night in question and failed to see the signs

Visited today to try out the Sunday roast. I had the vegetarian option which was delicious. Plate was full and for a good price. A proper home made roast. Will definitely be going again soon. Thanks Joel

Had a great afternoon at Heroes. Staff very friendly, an adrenaline pumping dog attack and one arrest for Threats to Kill. Will definitely be returning soon. Cheers!

I’m an American visiting for work and had some meetings down here with a client who’s based in Waterlooville and had to take them out to lunch and ended up bringing them here. While it’s a typical pub atmosphere, it is super quaint with a cute interior, super traditional British - but the food was the star. The chef is a super sweet guy who poured his heart and soul into the menu, and it shows. The fish and chips was amazing, my coworker (who normally eats like a bird) devoured her steak pie, and everyone else raved about their dishes. You can tell everything is made fresh and we had an AMAZING meal - especially in a town where finding good food can sometimes be tough. Not to mention the staff, was so attentive and gracious! George - thanks for everything, I now will order a “builders tea” everywhere I go in England! Heroes team, you wowed us and thanks for an amazing meal. - nick and the rest of my team

Just wow! Sam and chloe behind the bar, Joel the chef! All so lovely and the best roast ever. Definitely my new favourite place.

Definitely the place to go for live music, brilliant atmosphere

Not the place to go if you expect a full set from a live performer. As a promoter myself I wouldn't think of stopping a live performer half way through their set and only giving them half of their agreed fee. Disgusting behaviour

I went today with my friend first time ever and had a Roast dinner was absolutely amazing 😋 I had the trio . My friend had chicken roast . Best roast dinner I have eaten out in a long time . The service also was great as the entertainment. Most definitely go again 👍 Thank you to all at the heroes :) xx

It's brilliant pub for live music.

A group of us had lunch in The Heroes today, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and our waitress was very helpful and kind.

A typical wetherspoons pub. Food as you would expect, same as drinks.

We were going to pick up our car from the night before and was goi g to get lunch in weatherspoons… but.. so glad I didn’t! We have macaroni cheese, pie mash and filthy fries.. Well, what a delight, seeing the plates come out it looked like we were in for a treat. The food was well presented and very tasty. Large portions and similar prices to next door!! What a lovely surprise, if you are in Waterlooville try the Hero’s for a meal! You won’t be disappointed.

Great prices for drinks and food.

Went to watch the Trevor John band, who were excellent and therefore created a great atmosphere. Haven't been there yet on a normal night so can't comment on the pub properly.

Myself and 4 friends went for the Sunday roast. It was hot and very very tasty. I will eat there again for sure.although my friends little boy wasn't keen pn his macaroni(penne) cheese,he said it was quite dry with not much sauce. Good value for money. 4 stars is based on the macaroni (penne) cheese.

Good night out, quieter than previously but I think that's pubs in general and there was as many outside as on. Used the Heroes for over 30 years and see no reason to change..

I have just contributed money towards my son's parking fee at the Heroes Pub. We had stopped off for a lunch at the pub and failed to notice the signs showing that the car should be logged at the bar. Who would imagine that a pub car park is subject to penalties for parking?? The car parking fine was more than the total money we spent in the Heroes. There was no support for an appeal against the fine from the pub management. My son was told it is too much trouble to investigate. Hard luck, we should read the signs. We were customers of the pub and used the facilities of the pub, which includes the car park area outside. Why does this pub provide parking for it's customers and then allow them to be heavily fined for using this facility? The 'no care - it's not our problem' attitude of the pub is breathtaking for customer relations in 2024. Never, ever again.

2nd time we've had food here 1st time had fish and chips tonight had sirloin steak and it's absolutely fantastic freshly cooked food at reasonable prices . Definitely the place to go in the ville for some decent food looking forward to trying a Sunday Roast next . Definitely 10/10 the chef certainty knows his ingredients.

Never again will I return to this pub. Stayed 35 minutes for a pint, a random stop with my father and the kids. A week later got a £100 parking ticket. Upon calling the pub, apparently you must register your car. They can’t do anything and don’t care, it happens all the time…. If this is the case then the system is obviously rigged to catch people out and profit from it….. You deserve no custom what-so ever , I was simply having a pint to help pubs out in tough economic conditions, never again will you see my money due to the scam you allow in your carpark - of which you obviously know fleeces your customers…..

Really fancied some fried chicken tonight, popped up the heroes and the goujons and filthy fries were just what I wanted. Definitely recommend! The Heroes, Waterlooville

New chef very very good not your average pub grub had fish and chips / wings / filthy fries . Great portions well cooked highly recommend need to try a roast next .

The Sunday roast is absolutely amazing well worth the money all cooked fresh no frozen rubbish. Definitely worth coming back and doing again Can tweek the order to suit your dietary requirements. Fantastic

New food menu now available - went in for dinner at 6:30ish - absolutely great food and good value... myself and family & friends will be back for much more - would recommend to anyone - visit & support I say!

Lovely place that is trying to do something new and different other than your standard cover live music band, and are hosting Latin Dance lesson and evenings, teacher there is fantastic. Owner/management of the place are clearly creative and wants to try new things, however service is so slow even on quite night.

Popped in with an old friend for a quick cold one on a hot Sunday. It's massive in side and quite well kept. Large selection of beers and not too expensive. Friendly staff and other customers. Would definitely call in again if passing.

OMG! What has happened. Stopping happy hour until 6pm is such an error… so many regulars have decamped to Wetherspoons. It’s so sad because we love the Heroes and support it as a great local pub but the cynical move to stop happy hours between 3-5 is just upsetting.

Worst pub ever, got kicked out for no reason, all because one of the bar staff has been staring at me all night.

Been going to this pub for years because the live entertainment is really good. Went there tonight for a few drinks with a friend and the old woman with blonde hair, glasses and tattoos was so rude! We went to the side bar which was totally empty, ordered our drinks and started enjoying our night. She rudely interrupted and said the bar would be getting busy, to which I replied I know, it’s not my first time here and we would move when it happens. She then aggressively said she would get the manager to move me away from the bar when there was no need. This caused further issues between myself and the barmaid. I very strongly suggest not to hire people like this at an establishment where dealing with customers is your main job. Her people skills are non-existent and is enough to put anyone off from coming back. Rude, obnoxious and self-entitled are the perfect words to describe this woman.

Sorry to say I have not visited it socially I only clean it,but it is changing it's décor,it has knock out pool Monday night's quiz nights and live bands throughout the week and on Sunday afternoon not serving food at the moment I am told,but what the hell booze and sounds you can't go wrong

Nice pub to pop in and chat and a few beers its a local an independent not a franchise good old fashion pub lots going on so I say pop in as ther is not meny pubs left on your door step now so we have to keep them open

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Always good entertainment here. Pub quiz on Thursday nights is especially good. Shame they don’t do food anymore, but they do let you bring food in.

Fantastic community pub, nice clean pint, lovely welcoming staff and management, nice surrounding area which is clean, tidy bushes and weeded well and great entertainment, would highly recommend!

It was a great night at the time, but I didn't see the signs on their car park, and got sent a £60 fine. When I phoned the manager to ask if anything could be done she was rude and hung up on me. I didn't dispute that the signs were there, but she acted as if I had and just wouldn't listen to what I was asking her. A good experience totally ruined by the parking company and the manger's poor attitude.

Good beer, live music. What else do you want?

Nice looking local in Waterlooville town centre. What I would call an old fashioned pub. Which in my book is a good thing. Friendly staff and they also do regular music evenings which are always well attended. Photo of the stage is included in my review. I came before 12 noon when I took this photo. If you like your rugby this is also a good spot to watch.

This is a great place to go and watch live Bands. All types of music is catered for just check their website or Facebook page first to find your taste in music. there have a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. On music nights it can get busy but that just adds to the atmosphere well worth a visit.

My local karaoke, every Tuesday from 8. Great entertainment

Staff can't do enough for you great place to stop for a cheeky pint after work £3 a pint until 6pm weekdays and a free car park.

Beautiful old rustic pub with a good range of drinks and great bands and lovely staff.

First visit today, and pleasantly surprised, a proper traditional style pub, good selection of beers,spirits and the staff were very friendly. Used the toilets and they were spotless!! Would have been a 5 rating but unfortunately no food available, hoping next visit the kitchen will be open.

It's my local proper pub, not many around the Ville these days! beer is reasonably priced, £3 a pint upto 6pm Monday to Friday, and outside these hours the beer is still pretty cheap in comparison to most pubs I know, okay the spoons next door is cheaper but they are an abomination to hospitality! Staff here always friendly and never have to wait long at the bar for your beer... Great bands here to! Fully recommend for a piss up! 😁🍻🤟😜

This is the first time we've been to this pub and we came to see our friends band play!! The pub was very warm and welcoming, it's a very spacious pub with the bar in the middle. The staff were all very polite amd friendly which is so nice to see!! Drinks were also very nicely priced. We can't wait to go back!!

Went here Friday night for the 1st time and watched MafiaRocks play, my god they were brilliant covers band. Great vocals and bloody excellent guitar playing. Excellent atmosphere.
