Massive thank you to Vic and all the wonderful team at The Lord Raglan Emsworth for an amazing Sunday Roast Carvery yesterday. Not just great food, but a wonderful ambience and fantastic service. Eveyone is so friendly and helpful, a true gem of a pub! Thank you guys.

Some good bands on a Friday, now London seems to have lost that stuff. While beer prices are acceptable unlike Richmond Surrey my old watering hole @ over £7,00. a pint. But 70 miles down the A3 is too much unless like me you have your camper van.

Nice little pub for a nice little drink or two. Cosy and friendly atmosphere.

Popped in for lunch and a pint. Real Ale served here along with usual larger. Lunchtime food menu is mostly sandwiches or pizza. We ordered a BLT and side of chips and a pepperoni pizza. Both were extremely good and very tasty. The log burner fire added to a cosy friendly atmosphere. I would definitely go back. I noted that this place also has live music most weeks.

Open mic nights are good. Reasonable prices.

We were really surprised at how great the food was! We arrived having never been before and nobody was eating so we panicked abit as not usually a good sin but how wrong could we be! All 5 of us had something different and it was beautiful! Huge portions and very tasty. The lady who served us couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit! Beautiful views from the garden and brilliant service!

What’s not to love?, from the outset a beautiful looking building, superb garden and met with courteous staff, food is great value with a decent selection of lagers and ales, I was lucky enough to arrive on an outdoor band day, and the music and atmosphere was superb, they had a bbq running which was delightful, I would definitely make a return journey as the live music was phenomenal, a free live show on our doorstep, well done to all at the Raglan

Very accommodating considering 8 of us walked in off the street. Sorted a table for us all and the staff were super friendly and could not do enough for us. The Chicken & Scampi Baskets were amazing. Very filling and a lot of food. I think they could have been shared. Chicken Strips were very tasty and proper Chicken Breast. The Scampi was a very substantial portion size, most I have seen in any pub. The slight downside on the food was the Chicken & Chorizo Mayo Sandwiches. Please take the bottle of mayonnaise away from the chef hahaha. I have never had or seen a sandwich before with so much mayonnaise in it! Way too much and it was oozing out of every side. It could have been called a Mayo Sandwich with some chicken & chorizo. You couldn't really taste the Chorizo. Now I like mayonnaise but it really was overkill. We still ate them as we were very hungry but I would not order them again.

Visited Friday lunchtime with our walk group. Contacted by email earlier in the week and confirmed booking for 30 previous evening. Received a warm welcome, great food and service, nothing too much trouble. Everyone enjoyed their food. Sure we will return

Visiting from Malaysia and found the best place to hang out on a Saturday afternoon to evening with fantastic barbecue and live music! Staffs were very attentive and friendly despite how busy it was! Highly recommended!

First time here. Came with wine and food group from the Winchester U3A following a recommendation from a former member who had moved to Emsworth. A good, old fashioned pub that serves a good range of bright beers and has a decent selection of wines and spirits. I saw just a small selection of menu dishes but what I, and the rest of the group got, were large portions of well cooked and presented dishes. This is a pub that doesn't pretend to be a "gastropub" but one that serves good quality, decent, food. If I'm ever in this location again I shall certainly make a point of visiting this pub again. I understand the present publicans have only been in situ a short while. If so, well done and good luck.

I was recommended to go to the raglan on a Friday for to see some live music, we had such an amazing night we went back the next week for more. We pop in regularly now because everyone is so friendly and it's such a lovely atmosphere. We took some friends with us this weekend to their summer music sessions and we all had the best day, live music all day that was so good they could be headlining a festival. To sum up, the raglan is the place to go with a friendly fun atmosphere where you are guaranteed a good time. Thank you to the raglan team.

We attended the ‘raglan summer sessions’ on Saturday and the atmosphere was fantastic. They had live music all day and every single artist & band were incredible the talent was outstanding. Although they were busy the staff were welcoming, helpful and very friendly with smiles on their faces throughout the whole day. Lastly the bbq was amazing a great range of options all cooked to perfection! Thank you for such a great day!

Very disappointed booked table at beginning of weekfor 2pm. Rang to change time today.Got there only pizza and sandwiches. Why didn't they say they had no food.

Such a lovely afternoon staff were so welcoming. Juliet was lovely and so friendly. Food was amazing and can’t wait to come back.

Didn't eat but enjoyed a Friday night with live music. Was a great and friendly atmosphere. What I liked was there were people of all ages enjoying a summers night out.

Used to love this pub but changed recently. No food apart from pizza available. So didn't eat. Garden scruffy and view gone. Won't return. Such a shame!

What can we say about the Lord Raglan except it ticked all boxes for us the location .the service.. the vibes. Lord Raglan is a quaint surprise with stunning views even the ducks call in for a drink lol We will see you again soon x

Menu now just pizza as when we looked on Google we thought was a full pub menu . We stayed anyway as pizza is my fav food and they were really gorgeous made to order stone baked . Really lovely garden with a view to look out over whilst eating . Large screen TV I the garden. Will be back soon as were local.

We came here for a family party on 15/6/24. Whilst the function room isn't massive (we had obviously seen it prior to booking and wasn't a problem for us), we still had use of the gardens and the main pub. The landlady was amazing and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet they put on was second to none - plenty of it, all fresh and delicious. They couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. I will definitely be going back. And just as a side note - anyone reading awful reviews on here - please be aware that the current landlords took over 2 years ago, and the awful reviews are prior to them taking the pub over. Please give it a go yourselves and not rely on negative comments from before they took over.

Had a 21st birthday party here and the food was beyond amazing. The owner was super helpful all day. Couldn't recommend more. Can't recommend any particular dish as we had a buffet, which was plentiful and lovely.

4 of us visited on a Saturday afternoon, very chilled laidback vibe. Chose a table & ordered some drinks & food. Service was efficient and friendly, and the food was very good, generous portions. Waitress was very attentive. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back and try something else from the menu!

We booked in advance for a big group (14) and were very impressed. Good value and really good food and service. All the food arrived hot and together. Nice garden, stunning waterfront view and atmosphere, and good selection of beers

What a lovely pub, great location and plenty of live music, Sunday roasts looked amazing, but I only had time for a bowl of roasties.

Wow, this pub has gone down hill since being taken over. This pub used to have the best pub garden in Emsworth, no more. Grass replaced by mud, broken chairs and tables stacked against a wall, remaining grass unkempt, little or no space in the garden due to so many tables and chairs and generally tatty. As for the HSB, not kept well.

Came in for a Mothers Day roast and boy were we impressed! Arrived early so made the most of the seating area around a log fire, made welcome by all staff and a friendly atmosphere. Between us we each opted for Gammon, Beef and chicken. Pleasantly surprised to have been asked how we like our beef cooked - rare was requested and the most tender, delicious beef was delivered. Thickly sliced Gammon melted in the mouth and chicken was tender Breast meat. Portions were huge, perfectly cooked veg, all trimmings with no extra cost served with a smile. An altogether perfect afternoon - with so much choice in Emsworth for Sunday dinner we are glad we opted for the Raglan and will definitely be back!

Beautiful home cooked Sunday Roast Everything spot on and plenty of it. So much so we ended up taking lots home. Cosy with a lovely open fire and amazing attentive staff. Easily up there with the best Emsworth has to offer. Will be back again

I'm not a big drinker and don't go to a pub very often,so before today I'd never been in The Lord Raglan in Emsworth before. My daughter and s-I-l booked it for my Mother's Day lunch and we duly turned up. We liked the lively atmosphere when we walked in, and we had our name on a chalkboard on the table. Warm greetings from the staff then drinks came fast after ordering. Dinner was simply a choice of 3 roasts and a vegetarian option, complete with steamed vegetables and loads of trimmings included. I was staggered to be told I could have the beef 3 ways - rare medium or well done. Chicken would be boneless breast meat, and the gammon would be thick sliced and succulent. Between the five of us we had all of them. For those who can't make their minds up, there is even a choice of all three on the one plate! Our meals came quickly, plates laden with lots of well cooked roast potatoes and parsnip, a huge chunk of stuffing, an enormous Yorkshire, carrots, and a swede mash. As if that wasn't enough, 2 large side dishes of broccoli, cauliflower and French beans between 5 of us were brought out as well! We had ordered a portion of extra roast potatoes, not knowing how large the portions would be, which we struggled gallantly with but it beat us. The staff checked on us for drinks a couple of times and were bright and chatty. I can honestly say I was more than pleasantly surprised and very impressed with the food and service. Hand on heart we will be back!

Went for a roast on Sunday 3rd March. One of the worst roasts ever! We had 3 other tables within ear shot of ours, and these other 3 tables all left their beef. Tough as old boots and tasteless. Shockingly awful.

We booked for a family meal at the Lord Raglan yesterday lunchtime, there were 12 of us so this was no mean feat. We are not from Emsworth so took pot luck when booking. The team at the Lord Raglan couldn’t have been more helpful if they had tried and were very accommodating to a family of varying different ages and two dogs! The food was good value and really good portions. We would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

What a great place with staff that couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was lovely. It's so good to find a place that puts its customers and their comfort first .. thank you.

Went to this lovely pub this afternoon for lunch. Tom swerved us and looked after us. He and the landlady were v kind and friendly, the food was home cooked and lovely and the whole experience was friendly and very welcoming. We had our dogs and the first thing they did was get them some water. Very much recommend this lovely pub and it's staff.

Over the last year we have returned to the lord raglan following a change of ownership. The positive change in atmosphere is amazing and everybody is so welcoming. Tommy is always accommodating and the garden is a special place in the sunshine but equally on cold days sitting next to the fire is equally as special.

Great place. Came on pizza/open mic night. Great food and entertainment. Staff is wonderful. Highly recommend.

Being new to the area we have been checking out the local pubs, the Raglan is by far the best fit for us. The first time we went there we had fantastic welcome and were soon laughing and joking with the bar staff and customers. On our next visit we were greeted by name which surprised us and even more surprised at the fact that the barman remembered our drinks. It really is a great pub with a lovely atmosphere, live music on the weekend and lovely people.

Came here for just a drink with my wife on a Saturday lunchtime. We have been here before in the past and sat in the lovely garden but as it was December we decided just a drink inside would be fine. It's a shame in a way that i feel the need to do this review as it is not a moan about bad food or beer but more our observations. I read the previous reviews about a friendly welcome and while our visit was not unfriendly it was not exactly friendly either. Apart from another table with a family on every other customer was sat at the bar and as a former publican I don't have a problem with that but no staff member acknowledged me trying to get a drink and the customers were definitely not allowing any stranger into their space. I eventually got served and the girl was neither friendly or unfriendly and the beer was good. However once sat at a table to enjoy our drinks we couldn't help but notice how the bar area's particularly near the entrance was just soulless and the language we could here coming from one customer sat at the bar was a bit choice so we decided to leave which was a pity really. You cannot stop customers sitting at the bar you can stop the foul language.

Always great fun in this place, especially Sundays with the live mic As long as the landlady doesn't take a disliking to you you're safe!😄 seriously tho, she's fine usually but can give you grief if she doesn't like you! #onlyhonesty #justsaying

Went for a really nice walk and stopped at the pub for a really delicious Sunday roast. Food was really well cooked and the portion sizes huge. Vegetables were perfect and the service was faultless. Many thanks.

Lovely fire, friendly staff, all looked well - except why no-one in the pub? Ordered 2 x lunches, long wait. Had to ask reason for delay and told, just coming. But when it came - awful. Chips looked as though you would throw straight in the bin, certainly not good enough for a dog. The fish was not much better, more batter than fish. We did try to eat it, but no, too bad. So paid and left. Will not go in this pub again.

Had an amazing vegan roast dinner by the fire. So much variety of vegetables and the roasties were incredible! Highly recommend!!

Sunday Lunch - They were booked until 1430, so took that slot. We were given a very friendly welcome by the staff. We ordered the Roast Beef lunch which was very tasty. The meal included beef, Yorkshire pudding, honey roasted parsnips, carrots, swede and roast potatoes. The roast potatoes were spot on, crispy on the outside and floury in the middle. On the side was also cauliflower, green beans and broccoli. We would have still been happy without the side of other veg as there was a lot to eat without it. Plenty of gravy also and horseradish came along without having to ask or wait. We ended up staying and played cards by the fire for the rest of the late afternoon. Such a relaxing afternoon. Will be going back for sure.

Such a lovely unexpected great evening. The live band were joyful, and we felt warmly welcomed. One of those random evenings that will be remembered for a long time. Thank you.

Busy friendly local doing good trade on a Saturday

I reluctantly popped in to the raggy with a friend because he said it had changed so much. I'm so glad I did because it has really been turned around, it used to be dark and dingy with no atmosphere but the new owners have really brought new life and such a welcoming atmosphere. It's now a lovely pub with lovely staff and a really nice relaxed feel. Well done to everyone at the raggy and keep up the fantastic work

Well there was a surprise. Popped in for a cheeky breakfast. The double (2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages 2 hash brown) with fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and toast. Comes in at £11.95. Bit of a wait for the breakfast to be served. However, it was worth the wait. The food was all hot. The tomatoes were cooked through. The eggs were cooked with care. The sausages are from Treagus the local butcher, so we’re a good quality. Davina served with a pleasant smile and attitude. Overall. A good breakfast. Good value for the quantity of the food used.

A traditional pub with very welcoming staff and a great selection beers. In the words of my husband "a pint of proper coloured well kept bitter". We have visited Emsworth numerous times and sad we only discovered this pub today. We willbe back.

Called in for a drink bar person attentive, took are drinks into the garden not a pleasant experience very SCRUFFY, old garden chairs and tables stacked in a corner looking like waiting to be burnt on fire in winter ,certainly won't be back.

Visited over the weekend for some lunch. Pub itself could do with modernising on the inside, but aside from that all else is excellent from the food to the service. Prices were also very reasonable. I would go again without hesitation.

Popped in on the off-chance to shelter from the rain. They sell GF Peroni! Great food - we had halloumi salads, with a side of cheesy chips - friendly staff, quick service and dog friendly - will return x

I can not remember such a warm friendly welcome to a stranger for years! I had pre-booked (telephone) a table for six accompanied by a dog. Having been shown our table, one of the staff promptly produced a handful of biscuits with a water bowl; thoughtful. The food was excellent, with large(ish) portions of unpretentious pub grub. Excellent London Pride and HSB on tap, and the Cornish Orchard’s cider hit the mark! Unfortunately, the persistent rain prevented relaxing in the charming garden overlooking Slipper Pond and the River Ems, the vibrant atmosphere though more than compensated for this. We were allowed to run up a tab, (fortuitous with the final tally!) and were under no pressure to vacate the table. The Lord Raglan public house is unique. No fruit machines flashing away, no piped music drowning conversation. Incredibly polite and amusing staff coupled with genial locals. Try it..!

The hospitality, friendliness and costumes was absolutely fantastic. I told the owners I had come over from Australia for a week to visit the Goodwood Festival of Speed and he gave me a free pint for effort. Had a great laugh and breakfast every morning. I told them I’d be back with my family for more. Great place Emsworth and the people are just brilliant. Keep on rocking guys.

I think this has to be the most friendliest pub i have ever been to! It was a wet and windy afternoon and I was staying locally with my mother and 2 young nieces. We stopped at the Lord Raglan to dry off and the welcome we received could not have been more friendly. From the bar staff to the locals! It has a lovely atmosphere and felt like a 'proper' pub! We enjoyed it so much we returned the next day for a couple of pre dinner drinks. Thank you to Tommy and the other bar staff! Keep doing what you're doing! The world needs more pubs like The Lord Raglan!

What a friendly pub! Was soon as we walked in, the bar staff brought water and biscuits for our dog Chester. Then chatted to us , and made us feel so welcome. Tommy, on bar duty then pizza duty was a delight. Helpful, friendly, we returned the following day because we enjoyed it so much . Thank you everyone at The Lord Ragland.

Found this pub on a short Saturday morning walk from Westbourne to Emsworth. After seeing the waterside garden we decided to give the breakfast a go… best breakfast ever! Top quality food, brilliant price and all cooked to perfection✨ Beautiful location and unlimited tea and coffee too! Really was a perfect start to the day. Very dog friendly place and nice cosy atmosphere inside the bar area. Staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Looking forward to going back soon😊

I have visited this pub when I am staying with my son in Emsworth. It is a real community pub with an eclectic mix of customers of all ages. There is often live entertainment especially on Friday evenings. The staff are always friendly and efficient with the new management of 6 months turning the trade around successfully. The pub is open for breakfast between 7am and 11am every day. I have had the breakfast twice and it is well worth it with good quantity, quality and price. There is a good choice of ales that are well maintained. At the rear of the pub is a large south facing garden down to the water with plenty of seating. I am looking forward to returning to The Lord Raglan.

Popped in for Sunday lunch and a pint,what a gem of a pub Clearly more a local than targeting moneyed visitors and all the better for it It had a fire lovely Not sure if the woman that greeted us the landlord or not, either way it was a lovely friendly welcome that made us feel relaxed right away It's a fullers pub and the London pride was served spot on. SUNDAY lunch or basket meals today Had medium sized Beef and small chicken , potatoes were brilliant , both came with Yorkshire and stuffing, veg, today was cauliflower cheese, carrots broccoli,steamed cauliflower and cabbage. Only minor criticism gravy could have been thicker , but I realise that is personal taste. Cost was really reasonable. Wish we could have stayed longer , we will be back !
