Sam's Chippy in Havant

This is just disgusting .. whoever packed this could clearly see this was overdone but thought sod it sell it .. this is supposed to be my spam fritter .. looks more like a burnt battered burger .. sort it out guys this should of gone in the bin

food is always good, deliveries turn up really quickly. Opening times aren't very accurate though, been disappointed on more than one occasion when ordering to find they were actually closed (on a Friday..?).

Amazing take away from Sam’s ! This was our second takeaway since we moved to Hayling Island and I must say this was by far better then Subway.. Highly recommend food was fantastic and hot when it arrived and the driver was nice and polite too ! Thank you and we will definitely order again ! 😊

Absolute shambles I've just spent nearly £40 on my family's dinner and what has just turned up is possible the worst I've ever seen from samschippy. spent enough money to feed 4 people easily and I've had enough food for 2 people turn up. How can you charge excessive prices like you do and drop the protions sizes as much as you have. Large chips 4.80 and its barely a small. 8.50 on donermeat and chips and it comes in a small chip container 3.60 on curry sauce and it doesnt even fill a small childs cup. Your nothing but money grabbing rip offs and I SHALL NEVER order from this chip shop again. Suck ya mum and KEEP IT

With many of the original stores closed down, it is so nice to still have dependable Sam's chippy. Always greeted with a smile and great service. The food is cooked fresh and great value for a quick meal without the hassle of preparation and washing up. Portions are generous. They even offer delivery, which is great when I can't venture out. Thank you, Dee and his staff.

Once upon a time I always got fish and chips here. However getting food here this evening,well never again will we buy fish and chips from anywhere. The cost was £27.50 for 1xcod and chips 1xhaddock and baby chips this equates to more than my weeks shopping. Outrageous.

Sam’s has been a family tradition for 30 years I now live in Australia I called them for fathers 80th birthday and they delivered his dinner. This is the only chippy I would use if I lived in an area I could get to the. Back when I was a little boy I remember Sam serving me he was a family favourite then and his team is now and will always be a.family favourite now thanks Sam and team absolutely outstanding

13.50 for tiny cod and chips .the cod tasted like it was cooked in stale oil and the chips were dry and chewy very starchy not nice at all .

Last time we bought a small portion of chips which was small.... so this time we bought a a large portion, as small wasn't big enough and got a bag of chips exactly the same as before, there was no difference between large and small chips.. 0 value for money

I ordered a chicken nugget kid’s meal and I paid for did not come I checked the receipt and it said we did order it and when I tried to phone know one picked up so I do want a refund or for them to bring us a drink

Absolute disgrace orderd my boy a saveloy cam freezing cold orderd a large chips bearing in mind there 3.50p a large box with Hardly any chips in there a sausage £1.65p for a manky scabby echap small sausage safe to say I wont be order from there again

Update 2021- sort your opening times out twice you've been shut when supposedly open in the last 3 weeks Years ago a large chips would feed a family of 4...no more, also pies sometimes microwaved it seems

Food is good unfortunately the website is not up to date. Said yesterday at 18:15 it was shut and again tried to order on line now at it says it is opening at 11:45 but it is 17:45. What's going on.

Hi this is the owner of sams Chippy just replying to MR DANIEL WALKER,firstly mistakes are made especially with the screens as sometimes you can’t hear customers properly but I apologise for the mistake,now he’s a 16yr old lad and we all have to start somewhere so fair play to him for getting a job and he’s not thick ,he’s a very nice lad,also don’t ever abuse my staff especially a young lad or girl that works here because calling him “THICK AND FAT”I don’t appreciate Thankyou,any other concerns please come in and we can have a chat about it but once again I apologise for the mistake but hope you was happy with the food once it was rectified

Just been to Sam’s chip shop Asked for 2 small portions of fish and chips and a kabab got home no fish I went back to the shop asked were was the fish he did I never asked The delivery driver was in the shop hear what I said. So I have to reorder and wait for 2 fish the thick lad behind the till made me 2 portions of fish and chips If your going to hire someone made sure they get the orders correct

Fish tasted superb but smaller than expected unfortunately, I had a medium as no small available and it was £8.40 for fish & chips, fish seemed to have been cut in half lengthways?

Brilliant delivery arrived piping hot and cod tasted like fish for a change fed up buying cod that has no taste, we will return to Sam's without a doubt.

Fancied fish and chips after working in the area and found this place. Fish and chips for me are hit n miss usually and I’m fussy. Firstly the staff were really friendly and fast and I couldn’t have been happier with the food, really large piece of cod and great chips ! Wish I was a local I’d go there a lot more, thanks Sams !!

Local, friendly and fast service.

The manager of the chip shop comes across aggressive, miserable and is lairy. Also cops with staff when they can’t do something.

Very nice chip shop very reasonably priced good location and also they do delivery which is a plus they have a good size menu with a good variety to chose from would recommend.

Can be really hit and miss to be honest. Some days chips are lovely and portion not too bad and others they smaller and sausages not battered properly like half battered and quite few times things missing from order. Really can be hit and miss. We go as only one near us. The staff however are lovely and Can't fault them on that. Rated 3 stars for staff n when it's good.

First time visit, with the aim of getting the grub in before the England v Tunisia kick off. What a great result! And the football wasn't bad either, albeit with a wait for that last-minute winner. No such trouble here - order taken, food ready in good time, no penalties. The chips were cooked to perfection, crisp and brown, and the fish lit up what was a fairly dull second half. Well done Mr Sam, you're a lucky omen - we'll be back!

Rubbish ! The chips looked and tasted like they were reheated in old cooking oil and one of the kebabs we ordered ( we ordered 3 ) didn't even taste right so had to be thrown away . Very expensive for not very nice food . Don't recommend and will not order from here again .

Wgen the wife is at work, and I dont feel like cooking, I come here for my guilty pleasure, kebab meat and chips, with salad and chilli sauce, Dee and the girls are always friendly and efficient, always with a smile. At a very reasonable cost, the fresh cooked chips, and freshly carved kebab meat are a joy. All thats needed when I get home as a little salad cream and I am in heaven

Excelent chips, nice and dry, not soaked in fat like so many other places. They do pizzas, kebabs and other things so there is plenty of choice.

Four star fish, 3 star chips. Those of a certain age will remember this phrase "never mind the quality feel the width". The amount of chips in a small portion was more than enough for us both. The fish was well cooked and good.

Chips tasted a bit funny on this occasion but usually okay

Dont eat fish and chips at present as must lose weight but like them and is a good friendly shop as I visit them weekly to clean their windows.

We have just had a massive moby dick if a cod which was so big I had to break it in half to fit it on the plate. It was great value, cooked fresh and presented with a warm friendly smile.

Good food but can be busy at certain times

Got my order wrong, was extremely rude and blamed me, when it finally ...... Came was like a frozen 99p pizza from Asda!!! The chips were good for the dog! Such a shame heard good things and thought it would be my local 😔

Lovely chips ,nice bit of fish nice staff.

The food is really greasy and the chips all had green parts on them. My husband and I had the wraps which were on the menu (1 melted and a cold wrap) and stood and watched the guy make them. He didn't wear gloves at all, he used his bare hands to do each wrap then opened the oven door to warm one of them. This guy was then touching the receipts to check orders, looking around for a pen, cutting kabab meat then opening different cabinets, helping the delivery guy pack orders, then was scratching his head and wiping sweat off his forehead. He then again used his bare hands to wrap up our food. I asked the woman with black shoulder length hair why the guy is not wearing gloves and she said he doesn't need to he washes his hands! I said I don't agree with that at all as he is constantly touching different things!! She replied sarcastically there is a sink out back he uses. I replied multitasking causes cross contamination and ready-to-eat food should be prepared and served without bare hand contact. Once again she replied he washes his hands!!! Obviously staff/ owner was not bothered at all and from other reviews not interested in trying to keep customers!!! I actually felt really sorry for the guy in question as he was rushed off his feet while the woman I spoke too stood around not doing much. Needless to say we will not be going back.
