We loved it in here. Had a cracking time trying a couple of the beers. Thought the exhibition of postcards upstairs was rather, erm, Hastings. Atmosphere was great. Guy behind the bar was really friendly too. Definitely returning.

You should definitely try it, fresh and fast breakfast, friendly staff, prices are really affordable, the quality is unquestionable.@@@@@@@

Last visit I had a waitress that did not relay back the order to me which lead to more arriving than I thought I had ordered, and my companion eating later than myself. This time was much better...order relayed back to me, and food arrived at the same time. The only gripe was the service charge which I had not realised was included in the bill, I assuming the tips pot meant it was extra. I gave a 10% tip before seeing the bill so effectively paid 10% on the food/drink had and the service charge! And this was before checking the workers got the tips and when. It made me think of the many eateries I go to....in The Bullet's defence the service charge was mentioned on the menue...I did not see it....but shouldn't an eatery always present you with the bill before you pay so you can review the charges and decide how much to pay before settling the account? It has left me with an uncomfortable feeling...but I will be back...and wary. I like the place as it has an very inclusive menue... for the tradionalist, the experimenter, the meat eater, the vegan... and plays the kinda music I listened to in the early 70's, while having many customers who were probably not born then. In my dreams I imagine the smell of weed (not skunk) in the air...I see those big cushions we had then... it's laid back...just wish it had a less laid back attitude to its service.

The service was good but my drinks have gone up 5 pounds in a week last sat oct 11 th 2020 paid 18 pounds for wine a lot of money but accepted this week 23 pounds for same house wine .Food ok but when bill comes to over 100 pounds I expect value not to be ripped off .Staff lovely but value for money nil.Very disappointed as been going there for a long time and had hoped loyalty would be valued .Food tasty but overpriced for what you get. Very upset and angry .Diane Ballard formerly Plummer

We just stopped in for a cup of coffee. And a cake. The cake was delicious, gluten-free and really yummy chocolate and salted caramel. The coffee was hot and the service was excellent, including bringing things over to us even though we hadn't asked for that. A nice place to hang out when other things are closed, so it was very handy that it was open during the winter season. We didn't actually stay at the hotel so I can't come in on rooms and their quality

Been a loyal customer for Many years, manny thousands of pounds spent here and at other sites at the hospital and. Bexhill. Visited this afternoon for another coffee to pass the time. Left and was gone about 2. Minutes and decided I should have visited the loo before I left so returned. Was very abruptly told by a member of staff that the loos were for customers only. I explained I was a customer and had just been in but was told to leave. Very angry and will not be returning, a lot of lost custom 1066. So penny pinching it’s gone too far, well the abrupt rebuke by your staff has lost you a loyal customer.

Sure, Wetherspoon pubs have always been cheap n' cheerful, but at least they used to have a reputation for cleanliness and professionalism. The John Logie Baird at about 8pm last night (approximately only half-full) looked like an absolute dive, with loads of uncleared tables cluttered with empty glasses and plates, and the toilets in a similarly dishevelled, dirty state. Grim.
