Very friendly and welcoming. The chips are spot on hehe definitely 10/10

Popped in for lunch on Easter Monday and were seated immediately after a friendly welcome from the staff. The menu offered a good variety of choices at a reasonable price. It was particularly good to see several gluten free options for one of our group. In so many fish & chip places the choice is limited to a specific day only or even non-existent. The waitress took care to bring gluten free 'vinegar' and to advise that the other sauces might not be gf. Our meals were tasty, with light crispy batter on the fish and sausages, and chips cooked to perfection. The waitress came to check everything was ok with our meal and also made sure we were finished before clearing the table. Out of all the many fish & chip restaurants in Hastings this has to be the best!

Ordered on Deliveroo. Came in under an hour and was piping hot. Portions are exceptionally generous and delicious.

As it being my first time going to the KingFisher, I have to say I will most definitely will return again and to recommend this restaurant to others. I recived amazing service, the atmosphere and decor was very inviting. The food didn't take long to arrive after I ordered. and it tastes amazing. What I as many may say the pricing was very reasonable.

Not my usual go to fish and chips but I was pleasantly surprised 😋

Always great quality and when they were out of mayo sachets, they gave me a whole Heinz mayo bottle for free instead of just forgetting the dips. You’d never get that at McDonalds or other places.

Came here to take my family for lunch and had a good experience. Cod was lovely with light crispy tasty batter. Chips pretty good. One chap working there is an absolutely workhorse and was dealing with takeaway and sit-in customers and I’ve never seen someone work so hard. Good service, fair prices, good grub.

I came here because I’m celiac and they had a gluten free fish and chips option. The guy serving me was kind and aware of cross contamination. The portion is big and the cod was crispy and not oily at all. Everything was fried fresh and on the spot. I will surely comeback if in the area!

Absolutely superb food, service and just everything about this place today. Nothing was too much for the chef and his staff. Very apologetic about having no mushrooms so when the boss arrived he went to get some and quickly cooked them and brought them over ❤️❤️. Will definitely be going back again. We went to this restaurant initially because it had a gluten free section of menu as my grandchildren have gluten intolerance. Wow what a place ,very warm and friendly atmosphere made to feel so welcome ,staff member who took our order was a total gentleman couldn't do enough for us The food was excellent cooked to perfection, and great value for money It's not very often I give ratings or feedback but I would recommend this place to everyone ,will be visiting again next time I'm in Hastings 💯

Very impressed with the gluten free fish and chips. Me and my friend came In today and we both have celiac disease. so to come here and have a meal was bliss!! The guy knew alot about celiac and resursed us that It was cooked separately etc. Fish and chips cooked fresh and really good portion size. Definitely will be back again! Thank you 😀

Good food and friendly staff. Visiting Hastings we googled "vegan fish and chips" the Kingfisher was the first one that came up. Unfortunately when we got there the only vegan food available were chips and dry bread. The bloke who served us said they always get people coming in asking for vegan fish and chips. Might be an idea to start cooking some then.

A great sea side place to enjoy fish n chips among other dishes... The staff was very friendly, service was quick and food is delicious. Can't ask for more. Paid parking is available across the road.

After asking in several chip shops asked for gluten free cod and were told "of course" and it just got better from there. We were not over hungry so asked for 1 portion to share (again, "of course") and were so pleased we did not ask for 2. Portion a very good size, no room for peas on plate, looked great. Batter was lovely and crisp, and very similar to Tempura, chips were also brilliantly crisp and hardly any oil. Service was great, and bill very reasonable, would recommend any time. Thank you.

Went in for lunch on a wet and windy day. 2 Cod and Chips ordered for eat in, arrived quickly and was very nice. Would certainly use this place again if in the area.

Kingfisher fish n chip restaurant, the food was delicious, reasonably priced, very large portions, beautifully cooked, well presented. Staff were amazing, customer focused, friendly, helpful, kind, professional. Definitely worth a visit. I shall definitely be returning.

First of all , I went to the toilet and it felt like I was in a scene from saw, it was dark , very claustrophobic and the toilet was hanging from the wall, I should of trusted my instincts and left straight away. We finally ordered at a table and where the hostess just lingered Infront of us until we ordered, even after we said we would take a few minutes... Strange. Then when we had our order arrive the batter on the fish was not seasoned at all and had not been rested after frying so was still dripping with oil. And the chips were not great. The fish had no flavour so leads me to believe it's frozen and not fresh as expected right next to the sea. Such a shame because we paid £30 + cans of pop were charged at £2 each I believe. Felt like we just got ripped off and there was no love in this place at all. I would strongly recommend avoiding.

Fantastic fish and chips, nicely presented, good portion size and reasonably priced. Staff were happy, friendly, professional and attentive. Nothing was to much trouble. Choice of Indoor and outdoor seating or takeaway. Definitely worth a visit. I shall definitely be returning.

Is a nice place to eat they shere you a big cuantity of food but some times is enought the fish and chips are so good and the ambient is good to go informal with friends but if you like to go with the work isn't so formal

The Kingfisher is a long established fish and chips restaurant in Central Hastings. Whenever I visit the area I make a point of eating there. They do a great value pensioner's Fish and Chips for under £7 as well as the usual chip shop favourites The Kingfisher's staff are friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

Steak & kidney pie - Shop menu - £2.80 or £4.80 with chips. Steak & kidney pie - Just eats - £4.00. Steak & kidney pie - Phone delivery - £5.50? .....Good food, but pricing needs sorting as I paid £1.50 more than I needed too for that pie 🥴

Had fish and chip take away supper from here yesterday. Haddock was devine, cod was thick and broke into lovely thick segments when you cut into it (not mushy like the tail end can be) and our son had gluten free batter on his cod and that was the best gluten free fish and chips he has ever had. Batter crispy. So Fish and chips delicious. Will definitely return. Also great value.

Best Gluten Free Fish and Chips in Hastings

A very welcoming chippy. Brilliant food, child friendly and very kind staff.

Nice decent size fish and chip place along the beach. Their tartar sauce is a hidden gem I feel and nice that it isn't a sachet but a bottle to fill as needed with the fish!

We weren’t quite ready to order food when the guy came to the table, so when we were, and he was close by I politely said “hi, we’re ready now”, to which his response was “it’s not that loud in here”. Also when he walked to the table to ask if he could clear our plates, I told him “yes please, we’re done” and his response was to ask if I was sure. I’m not sure what his problem was but I did not enjoy being served by him. In fact, I had better conversation and service from the man cooking the food. The food was fine, but the only thing I would say is that they weren’t really chip shop chips, which I had been craving all day. They somewhat resembled them, but they were more crispy than fluffy and didn’t really taste or smell like them.

Me and my friend both now feel sick, the battered sausage was really oily and greasy it really wasn’t nice tasting either and the chips weren’t very nice so I don’t know if it was just us with this problem but yeah

Went in for breakfast staff friendly food was good.

Had lunch here with my wife and 2 under 5’s. We’re made to feel welcome and accommodated. Food was excellent and price is more than reasonable. Would definitely recommend to anyone with young children.

Fantastic! Live chat with staff in advance to confirm booking and order for 24 Scouts and leaders. When we arrived the tables were set and reserved, the food plated up ready and quickly severed piping hot. Chips are perfect. Lots of happy young people.

Really nice crispy chips, made with fresh potatoes. Top notch curry sauce. You can season the takeaway box yourself, so a massive plus. Most places serve underseasoned soggy chips, this ain't one of them!

I haven't been here in the area that long but I have visits Hastings when I came to visit my mum here ,however I have tried fish and chips from other places in the area , however None are anything like these I'm from Yorkshire...

This has to be the best chippy in town 🙌 the staff are friendly and prompt. Service was quick and the food was on point. The fish was perfect temp and flakey. The batter was crispy 👌 and the chips were perfection. Fluffy on the inside and a good crisp too
