Excellent experience! Crispy, generous portions, of fish and (slightly soft) thick chips (of which I don't mind at all), all arrived piping hot! Delicious! Kind of them to add extra sachets of salt, vinegar and other types of sauces. Fantastic! Thank-you kindly x

Ever since my partner introduced me to the KingFisher, I've never since had fish and chips anywhere else. The chips are always the perfect crisp and not greasy. The fish is just perfect, I can't describe it any other way. Ive never had any missing items neither which is always my biggest worry with take aways. A big thankyou and well done to the owner and staff!!

We love coming here. We are not from Hastings but when we come to visit we stop by here and I get my Gluten Free cod with chips and it’s hands down the absolute best gluten free batter I’ve ever had!! It’s thick, golden and crispy. Just perfect and reminds me of normal battered fish I use to have many many years ago.

Wow. That's it, really. Nicest bacon cheese burger i have ever had. First time visitor, but it won't be my last. It's worth a try. Expensive yes but it's a sea side resort. Very very nice

never had a bad order, always as quick as is possible, like 20 minutes from ordering to at my door, always lovely fish, always more chips than we can eat.

Waiting staff are very good looks inviting from outside and the waiting time for our food was quite quick.Thats it .we had cod and chips and a coke at a whopping 18.50 each my partner said hers looked like a different fish it was pink looking and wet and mushy in texture. I agreed as my cod was similar and felt like it had been frozen which you wouldn't have thought at a seaside resort. Most people that have reviewed this restaurant have had good experience but I definitely have not. Iv frozen my fish at home and it has the same effect the fish losing its texture. Disappointed not returning

Tried this place as it caters for people with gluten free allergy. Since being diagnosed with celiac disease 3 year's ago the one thing I've been longing for was cod & chips. This chippy was amazing, cod & chips melted in my mouth. Even brought gluten free vinager from them.

Always a lovely place to go for food, we always go here when we go to hastings the food is a good price, the staff are always so kind and happy to help and look happy to be there. We always enjoy our meal. If you're ever in hastings would highly recommend this place. We've been going for nearly 2 years now. They know us and we can have a laugh and a joke with them. I asked for 1 large fish and chips and server brought out a sausage and chips. We said no we wanted 1 large fish and chips, so she brought out 2. Whatever, we just had the 2 fish and chips and 2 drinks. Cost £30. Idk what size the fish and chips were, maybe they were large, but didn't seem like it. In any case, £30 for 2 fish and chips and 2 drinks? Ouch.

Great little place to eat. We visited for the first time this weekend on our seaside trip and will definitely return when we come back to Hastings! The lady who served us was so friendly and great with the kids. The food was delicious - best seaside chips we have ever had. Thank you!

Very good restaurant. Kodfish (cod), for example, is absolutely top quality. Very good side dishes. And the large portion is almost enough for 2 people...

Usually get from here and are completely happy but todays was far from nice.. Portions were terrible for the price n very very greesy.. Not worth it at all

Service was slow, we were a group of about 6 adults. The guy serving & cooking really couldn't have been more disinterested. We were very disappointed as we had read some great reviews.The layout of the service counter area is just inside the door so we felt very cramped. There were also delivery drivers coming in & out, so perhaps they should address this problem. We couldn't sit down because another staff member had moped the floor, which also made it slippery.There was a lack of interest from everyone , hygiene standards were low the chap doing the cooking took a fag break then went straight back to finish cooking our food. Did not see him even attempt to wash his hands afterwards.Only my 2nd time at Kingfisher sadly will not be going back there.

I came here with my family for lunch. Food was absolutely amazing and cooked very well. Staff is really nice and very friendly environment.

Didn't eat in so I don't know what the atmosphere was like. I only had sausage and chips, the sausage was great the chips were the best I've had in a long time. I've not found a chippy near me (I live about an hour away from Kingfisher. Next time I'm in Hastings and I want fish and chips I will definitely go back there.

For how expensive this was, the food quality was awful. Chips were cold and the fish was so wet that the batter had turned to slop.

Portion sizes are tiny this used to be a good place will not be using Kingfisher again. We paid 36 quid for two fish and chips absolute rip-off.

Fab, quick stop off here, what a little gem. Reasonably priced food and lordy lord ordered small fish, it was big. The battery was so light and all very fresh. I was stuffed! Waitress was blinking brilliant, it was just a nice friendly little spot. Oh and worth noting Yorkshire Tea not some cheap tea bags. Infact all decent brands of condiments, bread, drinks etc, not cheap alternatives!

Wrong order sent I ordered gluten free and this wasnt made me really itchy and gave me red blotches on my face so need a refund

We chose this restaurant as it looked clean and nice from the outside. The service was friendly and quick and the fish and chips were absolutely amazing. Honestly the best I have had in years and years. 100% recommended. Good value too!

Where this has always been my go to fish and chips shop unfortunately this from today will change. They have obviously spent a lot of money on their new shop frontage and this is definitely reflected in their prices and portion sizes. 2 medium cod and large chips ( which is barely a medium now) £24 I am very disappointed considering the staff know me and even said about me being a regular customer. However the fish was very good quality. I will now frequent another establishment as there are several to choose from. Normally you find one and stick with them as I've done. Now I know I'll make no difference but as I rarely make reviews felt this necessary.

My entry on 24th was harsh because I was angry. I would like to point out the food would have been SENSATIONAL as usual had the driver not been late and it became too cold to eat. So my stars only really reflect the delivery. THE KINGFISHER WILL ALWAYS BE WINNERS AT PROVIDING THE BEST FISH N CHIPS IN TOWN. XX

Driver was late, then said was lost and couldnt find me. My food now cold and theres nothing worse than cold battered fish. The Driver couldnt care less, he clearly like the comfort of his car too much. He was parked down the road and told me my house number didnt exist. Never had any probs with Kingfisher delivery before.

Quick service. Very polite and helpful. There were noise issues at times. Staff talking at desk very loudly just socialising with a customer but they didnt think about paying customers sitting behind them. Alot of delivery persons in and out. Smoking just out front. So atmosphere was not do good at times. Floor does need cleaning properly. Generally the work areas and service areas are clean and tidy. The food was very nice. Quality sausages. Cod roe very good. Chips were nice to. Prices average . I would go back again hopefuly less noise Review 2 ….. We mostly enjoyed our food last time so we went back in... Lovely new sign Greasy menu - Clean tables – dirty floor – wonky floor at the front Radio on which is great but not when the staff are also shouting- there were several members of staff shouting, especially the person cooking. They seem like very nice people but didn’t consider some people would like to eat in a nice environment. The swearing, grouping together socialising and shouting let it down. The server was very polite and helpful. Its not just about good food. The environment needs to change. The chips were small compared to last time. Lovely big cod roe. Fish is lovely. Batter plain. Battered sausages tasty just needed a bit more cooking inside. Made with korkers. A lot of herbs. Curry sauce is nice. Tomato sauce is to sweet. Good prices Lots of seating. Approx 40 Across from the beach. In a nice place hastings old town. I would like to enjoy this place but now after this second experience and not much changing in a positive way I wont go back.

Popped in for lunch on Easter Monday and were seated immediately after a friendly welcome from the staff. The menu offered a good variety of choices at a reasonable price. It was particularly good to see several gluten free options for one of our group. In so many fish & chip places the choice is limited to a specific day only or even non-existent. The waitress took care to bring gluten free 'vinegar' and to advise that the other sauces might not be gf. Our meals were tasty, with light crispy batter on the fish and sausages, and chips cooked to perfection. The waitress came to check everything was ok with our meal and also made sure we were finished before clearing the table. Out of all the many fish & chip restaurants in Hastings this has to be the best!

First time bought from here, this will be our ‘usual’ now. Plaice was excellent, as were the chips. Friendly delivery driver too 😊

It was a Knockout! Laaaarvly always the best Cod, perfect Batter and Chips to die for. Bangers n Fritters are the best too! Please can you do - All day Full English Breakfast. Or..Cheesy Omelette and Chips. Or.. Cheese, beans n a burger in a sandwich and deep fried in batter. Or Sausage n onions in a sandwich in batter. Or Cheese ham and pineapple You will make a killing when the pubs n clubs kick out! Taffys on bexhill Rd used to make them in 80s. They were a knockout.

As it being my first time going to the KingFisher, I have to say I will most definitely will return again and to recommend this restaurant to others. I recived amazing service, the atmosphere and decor was very inviting. The food didn't take long to arrive after I ordered. and it tastes amazing. What I as many may say the pricing was very reasonable.
