Popped in for a couple of drinks on Halloween, it was great to see all the staff had made an effort and were all dressed up! A busy evening for the team, but they all kept smiling! Bea was great! She obviously loves her job, always smiling, very cheery! Thanks Bea for being great!! 😊 fabulous atmosphere as always!

Place has gone seriously down hill and tonight I downloaded their app in the hope of getting a hot meal delivered! Not the case, took over an hour and a half to deliver cold food. No apology and disgustingly rude driver. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!

There for a few beers and stepped out into the smoking area, when I tried to get back had been told that the manager had pointed out 4 people who they didn’t want back in, and I was one of them. No explanation why, I’d literally just chatted to the other people outside for the first time and had only had 1 beer. Anyway, avoid. I suspect they don’t want customers of certain demography which was very much the impression the bouncer gave when I asked him why weren’t allowed in. Beer is overpriced here too.

Made the mistake of visiting this restaurant for Sunday lunch with my wife & children. The food is shockingly bad. The ‘French Market’ starter table was a drab and dreary affair of wet food that had been evicted from the main dining room and plonked in a doorway next to the bar. Main courses didn’t get better. My son’s steak was cold, all our Yorkshire puddings were cold (as were the replacements), my chicken was reheated dry and was accompanied by a small bowl of white sauce that I couldn’t identify. The giant profiterole was an exercise in how not to update classic French cooking. What should’ve been light, airy choux pastry was a frisbee waffle - not nice at all. The service provided by C, I don’t want to use her full first name, was just straight up rude. I mentioned this to her as I paid the bill and she told me I was wrong. I left and won’t return. The challenge for brands like hotel du vin, is how to hold on to what built their brand. On this interaction you can expect this chain to join Mike Ashley’s growing group of companies that are taken in to ICU following a public fall from grace.

Large pub, good value for drinks, friendly staff. This is a place for a couple of quick drinks whilst out an about.

Food served on plastic plates. Expensive. Argued with owner that tempura is a batter not breadcrumbs, said I would change for something else which was a £1.00 more expensive and she made the young girl go get the card machine before I could reorder! Dreadful customer service and food very poor

This was the worst food I've ever been presented with . Jacket potato tiny hard skin lump of tuna no mayonnaise or butter so so dry couldn't eat it , bit of floppy salad - just horrendous . My daughter ordered cheese chips which was a solid mass which you could pick up in a lump . She felt sick later after eating a few of the chips. We complained - no refund just offered a piece of cake free , we each paid 10 pounds . Waitress said the manager told staff to put little tuna in potato and not nych mayonnaise no butter . He needs to be sacked . Disgusted .
