The ambience was amazing the staff was Great and attentive ❤️ But the food was not as Great as expected a bit on expensive side and less in quantity as well as the wings could have done better Thanks

I wanted some quick meal, while i was on a trip here in Brighton.The meal was done in few minutes and it was delicious! I would definitely recommend!

The food was amazing, the atmosphere was lovely and calm and Daisy was the cherry on top of our lovely afternoon out. Table service from Daisy made our Experience at 10/10 experience. Well done Palm Court Restaurant- this sort of customer service is hard to come by these days.

This used to be our go too place for fish and chips and a bottle of fizz. We visited Tuesday lunch and all I can say is what an absolute rip off the place has turned into. I had a jumbo cod with a salad 🥗 and the Mrs had wholetail scampi. The cod was the size of a senior citizens lunch meal deal and was served with a salad that you would not even get as dressing as for the whole tail scampi and a ridiculously small portion of chips along with a small portion of mushy peas and a bottle of champagne 🍾 that could of easily had the label changed from a bottle of cheap sweet cava for the grand sum of £78.00. What is understand they have overheads this meal was absolutely the biggest rip off I've ever had. For an average of £10.00 per person any of the other fish and chips shops around would be a better choice. Yes I understand it is not cod or haddock but at least you get a sizable portion of both fish and chips for £20 which did not even cover the price of the so called jumbo cod. Avoid at all costs and use the other shops.

We went to the main restaurant but didn’t want anything on the menu so decided to leave. We went to the takeaway part on the outside of the main restaurant. It was so nice. The server was really kind. Food was delicious, great prices. Will definitely return

Food was atrocious. Fish and chips here were not eatable. It definitely wasn't fresh. The table was sticky, and no one is actively cleaning the tables nor the floor.

The restaurant has is strength on the location. In the middle of the Brighton Pier offers a very suggestive atmosphere for a lunch brase on seafood. The staff was very friendly and polite. Price point in line with quality and service! Positive overall. Sharing platter was interesting.

Absolute worst restaurant I have ever eaten in Food was tasteless and over cooked Drinks took 35 mins to come (to be fair they were short staffed ) but kept on allowing new customers in . So disappointed

Food came swimming in oil. Girlfriend's burger had a hair in, and the place reeked of stale fish. Stomach was in a horrible state after eating. The service and staff, and atmosphere wasn't too bad.

we come here every time we're in brighton... today we did a quick takeaway with plans on returning tomorrow for a meal... the absolute worst battered sausage i've ever had... i thankfully only had a tiny bite as it was steaming hot out of the fryer and i just got a mouth full of oil and an aftertaste of fish... my partner thought i was exaggerating so waited til it had cooled and took a big bite... which he spit out as again, mouth full of oil!

Sólo salgo de Londres a la costa una vez en una luna azul. Cuando lo haga, quiero pescado con papas fritas. Encantador lugar aquí y fuimos el día de una tormenta, así que el mar proporcionó un telón de fondo dramático, amable con el personal, pero los peces... No hay pasta dorada, sólo un asunto de galletas marrones naturalmente suave que tuve que romper. El pescado de abajo no tenía nada de la textura en escamas de pescado fresco que esperas en un restaurante de pescado costero. Todo era más como una porción de Youngs congelado, bacalao rebozado que compras en un supermercado y luego calientas en tu horno. Supongo que así se hace aquí. Muy decepcionante. No hay visitas de regreso para mí tampoco

A great venue, lovely to sit and watch the sea. Service was fine. Unfortunately the fish and chips were not great. The fish was slightly over cooked and chewy and was not freshly cooked to order.

Update - stopped in for lunch and it was like a different restaurant. Staff were really attentive and helpful, seafood platter was really tasty, kids meal went down a treat with my youngest. I've updated the review as they were outstanding.

Nicest fish and chips I've ever had living more than 10 years in Brighton, and nicest view. I recommend the seafood platter in the photo, which was divine and only £11pp shared. Service could be a little friendlier. The restaurant is beautiful - old, ornate England in all its glory. Wonderful experience. I will be a regular now!

Fuimos al bar de comida para llevar y pedimos los dos pasteles de pescado con patatas fritas, que era un precio muy razonable. Lo compartí con mi hija, pero no pudimos comerlo todo, ya que la porción es de muy buen tamaño, incluso para dos compartiendo. Aunque tomó un tiempo para que la comida estuviera lista, no nos importó, ya que estaba cocinado por encargo y no estaba sentado, teníamos una hermosa vista desde la mesa exterior y el sol estaba fuera, así que no hay problema allí. La comida era muy sabrosa y sin duda volvería por más. En cuanto a las otras reseñas sobre el personal de cocina discutiendo, me parece hilarante como si alguna vez hubieras visto o trabajado dentro de una cocina en funcionamiento como yo, sabrías que todo es solo bromas, tienes que ser un poco duro en una cocina, ya que es un trabajo estresante caliente, ¡simplemente no sueles verlo desde tu asiento fresco y cómodo en la mesa! Sin embargo, no fui testigo de nada más que del comportamiento profesional de todo el personal aquí en esta visita.

Really good service, the manager was very helpful.

We had traditional fish and chips with mushy peas and a pot of tea. The fish was excellent, chips crisp and freshly cooked. Everything was nicely served and very good value for money. Only one criticism; the tea was served American fashion with the tea bag separate from the teapot. This is not the way British people expect a pot of tea.

The cod was not nice over cooked and the batter was like wood and tasteless I understand its jumped up harvester version on the pier but I wish we went elsewhere. Huge disappointment

The terrace is beautiful, it's a pleasure to sit there on a sunny day. The staff is OK. At the time of my visit (between 13:00-14:00) it was not crowded. The food was not good... I bought (for take-away) fish and chips from them, but I didn't like the way they looked or the taste.

Got coffee on Tuesday evening, thought it wouldn't be good but was amazed at how great it was. Cheers to the barista, bartenders, and floor staff!

We sat down for a family lunch here just to witness a manager probably in his 50’s touching multiple female waitresses that looked in their 20’s, he kept tickling them and putting his hands on them, it was extremely unprofessional, uncomfortable and it appeared staff morale went down when he was around. Will never return to this restaurant, however the food was good and the staff were good except the manager obviously, his behaviour was disgusting.

We decided to take 5 of our residents living with Dementia for a fish and chip lunch on Brighton pier today, to reminisce and people watch. We decided to get our meal from this restaurant, us carers were not eating so I ordered 5 oap fish and chips, the young boy behind the counter looked at me like I was talking in a foreign language, I had to explain what oap meant, in an ignorant tone I was told they don't do this (an regular size would be far to much for them to eat) So I ordered 5 kids fish and chips, I then was told they don't do fish only fish cakes or nuggets. I explain our situation etc.. he said he couldn't help me, I asked to speak with the manager, again explained what i wanted, to be told they couldn't help me at all. So I ordered 5 fish and 2 chips for a total of £53, if my residents weren't so hungry I would have gone elsewhere. It was the complete disregard and stinking attitude that got me, our eldest is 103, he fought for his country. I understand it's a business but come on, have some discretion, not even the offer of a complimentary drink, people like this need to take a step back, what a sad world we live in.

After visiting here for the last 20 years we was very disappointed on the food selection. We use to get a wide variety of food but now there isn't. We were very disappointed and very expensive.

I was very dubious about eating here but in all fairness the fish and chips were amazing and the view was great. We dined on a Wednesday evening so it was pretty quiet (might be quite hectic with kids on a weekend). But wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again

I can not believe how much this place has changed the food was terrible and so over priced and the staff were just standing around on there phones and when the bill come I almost had a heart attack I will not be returning

The scampi and fish were ok. The chips were not very nice. Hand hygiene left a lot to be desired. The Server handled money, credit cards and food wearing the same gloves. I didn't see him change gloves or wash hands any any point. Why do people think this is acceptable hand hygiene!?

Staff cooking the food were continually arguing amongst themselves and one in particular was repeatedly rude to the young person serving customers. I did state that over 30 minutes was not okay to wait for a small order. From what I could gather from the conversations taking place it seemed someone had accidentally switched off one of the fryers mid cooking?!!! This made me question the safety of the food and I was reluctant once I finally received it! We ate our food. My husband had the cod with chips & I just had chips. Within 30 minutes of eating I started to experience stomach cramps. This was bare able but I thought to myself it must be the food. We began our hour journey home and throughout my husband experienced stomach cramps that increased with severity as time passed. By the time we arrived home he experienced terrible diarrhoea and continued stomach pains into the night. What a disaster our trip for a take out Palm Court was!

We ordered from the takeaway section of the restaurant. It was by far the worst fish and chips we’ve had. The service was great from the front, but the way staff from the kitchen spoke to this young guy was shocking. Totally unprofessional and in front of customers. Back to the food - the chicken nuggets looked as if they had been freeze dried. The fish was tough and overcooked, or had been left sitting for hours. The chips were dry and inedible.

60/35/5 is what I can give 60 for the staff and customers service, 35 for the dessert 5 out 100 is for the main dish don't recommend the cod. Seriously broke my expectations.

Beware !!!!! Sticky tables and menus !! Over £4.20 for a 330 ml glass bottle of coke zero £1.60 for disgusting lime and soda couldn't even drink it ! Not sure what cordial you use. Plus they put on service charge that I didn't know about please read your bill ! Pestered by the waiter to order food luckily my son had quick thinking to make an excuse on his 3rd attempt to get a food order that we were just going to have drinks. Went to Harry Ramsdens instead !

A very accommodating restaurant for a spontaneous cooked lunch considering it's popularity, location and view from the pier. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was top quality.

We drove to Brighton from Twickenham. After a long walkabout we decided to get some lunch. We wanted to be seated at the window so we could see the sea. The couple at the table next door refused to move their pram which was blocking the entrance to the table. There was no baby in the pram at the time. We had to be elsewhere away from the sea facing tables. So in reality the waitress gave preference to an empty pram and some very entitled people. Had we not been so tired and hungry we would have gone elsewhere. Definitely won't be back.

We used the takeaway section to the left hand side as you look to the front of the restaurant. Absolutely abysmal. It cost £20 for 2 savaloy and chips. The server microwaved the chips after dishing them out and our savaloys were cold. We binned them and walked away. They also did this to the next person who ordered food too. Why are they microwaving chips!! Concerning and a waste of money. I would expect the same quality of food from the restaurant itself considering they're are quite literally attached. Do not use the takeaway section!

Visited with my family at the end of the summer. Good portions sizes and friendly staff. I was happy to leave a tip. Worth a trip to soak up the traditional seaside vibes in a comfortable space.

We had the most amazing dining experience at Palm Court last night. It was an absolute gem of an evening, and I can't stop raving about it. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this restaurant goes above and beyond to ensure their customers have a fantastic time. First and foremost, the manager was absolutely incredible. They were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make sure our dining experience was perfect. Despite us arriving close to closing time, they not only welcomed us with open arms but also treated us like VIPs. Their warmth and hospitality were truly commendable. The staff were equally exceptional. Even though it was late, they were all smiles and incredibly accommodating. They made us feel special throughout the entire meal, and their dedication to ensuring our comfort was evident. The food was exquisite; every dish was a masterpiece. The chef's culinary skills shone through in each bite, and the presentation was nothing short of art. The flavours were rich and unforgettable. I can't thank the team at this restaurant enough for making our visit so memorable. This restaurant deserves the highest praise for their fantastic service, delectable food, and the way they treat their customers, even when the clock is ticking towards closing time. I will undoubtedly be returning for another extraordinary dining experience.

£20 for fish and chips it was awful The chips came in a little cup with Scragg ends Fish was all better absolutely no fish inside it was awful. And the coffee kept showing up cold. I got my money back and left.

Really disappointing. It took three attempts to. Get a properly hot latte / flat white. Eventually the manager made it after we explained that they needed to heat the cup. The normal Prime Cod was fine - good taste, thick and meaty. The Big Fish looked great on arrival - twice as long - but it’s only a couple of ounces more, so was thin with too much batter. Avoid! The halloumi burger was also disappointing: rubbery halloumi with a bit of lettuce and tomato, no sauce/relish/mayonnaise. And the chips with all three weren’t very tasty, and only a few of them. The service was ok though and the manager was accepting and apologetic. He also didn’t charge us for the big cod or cold coffee. Final thing - one of the waiters cleaning the tables after customers left wasn’t very thorough, wiping around the condiment holder rather than lifting it up and cleaning below it.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. The place was dingy and dirty. The table was sticky. We both ordered fish and chips, and it was disgusting. The fish was inedible -- mushy on the top and slimy on the bottom. The tartare sauce came in a paper cup the size of a thimble. The only thing edible was the chips. However, we sent the whole terrible mess back to the kitchen. The very young staff were polite and tried their best, but the place as a whole was appalling. If this is their best after a renovation, it's pretty sad. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

There were 6 of us, adults. But although there were lots of empty tables, the manager put 8 people on the table right next to us with a child that screamed non stop! Completely miserable experience. Wouldn't return.

Tough to review this one . Food fish was very nice batter lovely chips but very small portion and paid for large fish and chips . So pricing too expensive. The service was fantastic the waitress was nice and polite very pleasant but my pet hate service charge added on for you I don’t like that it should be the customers choice. Atmosphere was ok nice and quiet nice and cool in the restaurant too. So most bits good just some parts let it down for me.

The food was really terrible. The worst chips I have ever seen. They looked like they were reheated, I can’t explain why else they would look like that. The scampi tasted bad, the shrimp inside wasn’t cleaned. I was afraid to eat more after a few bites out of fear of of food poisoning as the taste was just unexplainable. What a waste of money. The hostess however was lovely, very friendly, that was the only good part.

Food was good,but the special menu was not. It was supposed to of come with a dessert but this was charged separately. The service charge was £5.45. Total bill for 2 £65. So the special menu is a rip off. So beware when checking your bill.

Looked very inviting went in for a meal as it was wife’s birthday heated by a nice young man and everything was great up until then ordered drinks and food and while we were waiting there was a young lady coughing into her hands and then even though using hand sanitizer was still touching stuff other staff would be using and was observed coughing as she was waiting a table she was obviously not well and should not have been on shift and to make matters worse it must have been the owner he was seen putting his hand up his shirt scratching his bare back and with the same hand serving food and as for the food cold plates soy half way through the food that was only warm to start with was cold and I know the costs have gone through the roof but was sadly over priced and as being in this profession for over thirty years we had better food from one of the takeaway fish and chip shops sorry to leave such a bad review but after it being the first brake I have had in five years was expecting a lot better service if they had been busy that would have been one thing but they were not

We have been going to the Palm court restaurant for years and years and it was always really good. No idea what has happened to this restaurant, went there bank holiday Monday and it was terrible, dry fish, Salad limp, lime in a margarita dry, white bait really bad. Won't be going back, which is a real shame.

Used to love coming here ,but not a chance now . Popped in for a drink felt like we were a nuisance. Pinot grigio served in a filthy glass , when i pointed this out was fed rubbish about being in a hard water area. I work in a pub with hard water so no ecxuses, a then warm glass was plonked on the bar like i had committed a sin . Needless to say my drink was left .

Lovely waitress who was on her own, we sat and I needed a drink straight away . Aparently we had to pay straight away, we couldn't pay when we ordered our food has her manager was watching her on CCTV. Found this very annoying. She did a gab job food was lovely super hot and fresh . I'm disabled and the only toilets were up the stairs . They were awful , dirty no toilet room, nothing to wash your hands with . Wondered when the last time they were cleaned !!!!

Fish very nice but chips are warmed up and bit hard. Order a side order of 2 bread and butter but bread just out freezer and still frozen crusts. But very good service.

Fish and chip lunch ,chips a bit dry fish nice but a bit bony. Fellow diners had bread and butter the crusts were hard.

Very nice fish and chips. We ordered bread and butter, the bread was hard particularly the crusts. We told the waiter about this and they gave us some bread that was slightly better.

Perfect place for fish and chips

Nice little venue. Had some lunch and a few drinks and watched the lionesses lose to Spain. Food was ok and probably what you can expect in a tourist hot spot like this. Nice setting though and great views.

The restaurant was handy for where we were at lunchtime. The service was good but the calibre of the food was well below expectation and I have never tasted such awful fish and chips. The fish was very dry and the batter tasteless, obviously straight from the deep freezer. It certainly wasn't worth £16.99. Will not revisit.

Brilliant restaurant in brighton

Not much to say other than ok. The most enjoyable aspect is looking out to sea and back to the promenade. Aperol Spritz just North of £11. Service reluctant at best. I think they smiled but if they did it was fleeting.

I dined here for the second time, the first for my mother's birthday, this was just a random trip. We returned for the lovely service and tasty food. The mussels are divine! There was a very sweet girl serving us who is a credit to your staff, but both visits all the staff were great. This was July 25th around 1pm.
