I used to love this place but the last few times haven’t been great . We came here one Sunday in December as we love to eat out at the weekend for a Roast dinner . There was only us and one other table at about 5pm . We both ordered roast dinners and was left for about half an hour before someone came over and said I’m really sorry but we’re out of everything to make a roast can we get you something else ( during the half an hour we was waiting the chef had sat next to us eating a lovely roast dinner ). It was a shame but we was really hungry so just ordered something else each this then took a while to come and my partners was cold and not very pleasant so I let them know . They took it back and 20 minutes later once I had eaten my dinner he had a new dinner that to be honest felt like it had been microwaved . There was also a table of a family of 4 that looked like they was having problems with every order . We would normally get 3 courses but we left it at that and paid promising not to return which was a shame as the views are lovely . Our friends told us it had apparently been taken over since last year and it was meant to be better so we thought we would give it one last chance and go and sit in the garden to have a stone baked pizza as this is what they advertise . We ordered a meat pizza and a burger and chips . The pizza was not stone baked it looked like a load of cheap meat from a cheap supermarket plonked on top of a basic oven pizza base it was actually awful. The service is always slow and unfortunately you feel your interrupting the staff from having their own conversations which is lovely to see they all get along but please take notice of people walking in . The benches were dirty and not cleaned with bird poo and food on . Takes a simple wipe down after each person. We won’t unfortunately be coming back now as this is two bad experiences. I don’t like to complain but feel it’s such a shame as it’s a lovely little village and would be so nice to have a lovely place on our doorstep but this does need to be looked into . Please do better and you will get the customers this pub deserves .

Village Street, EnglandWhat a unique and quaint English pub, the owners are lovely people with taste, and a love for chickens of which there are 10 or so just roaming free in the garden (the garden is clean and well maintained) Everything about my trip was great and I really can't wait to visit in a more leisurely capacity as unfortunately I was just stopping by

Watlington Road, EnglandHad dinner here on a Monday. Food was adequate - burger was good but the onion rings tasted awful and we left them. Kids meal sausages were burnt. Very little Burrata in the tomato and Burrata salad. The worst thing was the atmosphere- can only describe it as cold and frosty. The lady serving our table was efficient but brusque and didn’t crack a smile once. It didn’t have a warm and welcoming atmosphere and we absolutely won’t return despite living close by.
