We arrived late without a table booking and got a table for two. The atmosphere in there is very relaxing and you don’t have another table close by with that claustrophobic feeling of being elbow to elbow with others up close. Nice mellow jazz playing in the background and attentive and friendly staff. We had burrata which is incredible with salmon fish cakes. Kedgeree which was excellent and lamb merguez sausages to follow. Delicious wheat beer and elderflower spritz to wash it down. After a tactical pause we had pudding of pear and ginger sticky toffee pudding and a green gage frangipane tart. We shared a glass of tokaji Hungarian sweet desert wine which was stunning. The portions sizes are great and so is the value for money! Highly recommended and we would love to come again. Thank you guys for the pleasant, mellow & lovely night

Lunch at Graze on Grand in Hastings was an absolutely perfect spot for lunch with a couple of friends on a baking hot Saturday afternoon in June. Wonderfully summery menu: pea and watercress soup – served cold with a dash of crème fraiche – fishcakes with slaw on the side; sensational burrata with delicious tomatoes; pea and spinach tart with new potatoes and salad and finally we shared a strawberry meringue Eton Mess thingy which was just heaven. The fine bottle of rose from Provence also went down a treat! Top quality and wonderfully fresh ingredients throughout. Highly recommended and it won’t break the bank.

A friend recommended Graze on Grand as a nice venue to have a lunch and so it proved. It was quiet but a warm sunny day. We had a selection of starters and mains followed by desserts which were all delicious. On arrival there was no initial greeting or seating us at our table and we were rather left to our own devices. My wife ordered a main course which was unavailable but this was only communicated once we had finished our starters rather than at the initial order point. There was only an option to order wine in 125ml glasses, no option for for medium, large or full bottles. The wine was priced very highly (on average £6.50 per glass which equates to £13.00 for 250ml). Despite all these small issues the service was generally attentive and professional and the whole experience memorable.

If you want to wait over 2 hours for your main course, an hour and a half for your starters (which weren't even cooked starters - charcuterie board) and when the food finally arrived, having to dig into really bland linguine... then this is the place. The only saving grace was the waitress, who was lovely. Otherwise, we didn't get an explanation for why it took so long and didn't even get an apology for the forever wait. Never going back there again.

Recently went with 3 others and experienced Graze's new chef; well what a difference! Superb food all round including a couple of starters and one desert. The wine (I've yet to be disappointed) was very well received by the group, sadly it was the last bottle so couldn't have a 2nd, the recommended alternative was pretty decent. Always appreciated the wine prices here, they never take the micky as do many restaurants. We will be back.

Hi, I live locally and this place has been recommended many times. I had already been for drinks and the owner has mixed me a very good Gin and tonic in the past.I therefore decided to take a Spanish client, down for the day, there for the lunch. The restaurant is great and the owner r is lovely and the waitress attentive but they are sorely let down by the food or at least what we requested.A tiny glass of wine (certainly not 125 ML) was way overpriced at nearly 8 pounds. It would be interesting to know why the local wines are the most expensive on the menu. The cheese and charcuterie board was badly presented and small (I almost always have this when out and there are other places in Hastings that offer local cheeses, better presented and cheaper). My colleague's dish was far too small even though a main and he was still hungry afterwards. This was disappointingly surprising as I had expected better. I believe in leaving a constructive review and will go back but since the London influx I notice, certain places in Hastings/St Leonards are adopting certain London approaches re price and quantity that are obviously targeted at those clients and that would be better left in London.I want to be positive and I will be back.

It was so great to go back with our daughter and grand-daughter for the first time since we left St Leonards on Sea five years ago. This was our local and Stephanie our favorite host and chum!! So good to see she'd survived through everything and come out the other side even better than before. This is a place where you go to share lots of smaller ever-so-tasty dishes and fall out with your friends and you try and share and then order some more and kiss and make up!! Great welcome, warm and direct (standing in front of you and not from far away behind a bar), the food was tasty and well presented (mackerel mousse and desert) but all in rather small portions.Good wine but I dislike glass with long and narrow headspace with large bowl, a regular wine serving looks tiny and I feel short - changed or maybe it is only me.....

The place definitely has its own character, vibe and feel, unlike many other cafes around. Very chilled, laid down and pleasant. On the food side it is more of a wine shop where you can have most of the products from the shop, rather than a proper cafe or restaurant. That being said the products are very good and the wine choice is great. Last by not least - the host (the owner?) Is super mega friendly making you feel at home immediately. But for some reason we had to wait absolutely ages for our food and very almost left. We were the only people inside and there were maybe four people outside. When it did finally arrive it was delicious, but we couldn't understand how opening a tin of Sardines and putting some soup in a bowl needed to take Almost an hour. Sorry Graze but the big wait tainted what would otherwise have been a 5* time and this was the second time it's happened to me here. All the best but we won't be returning soon.TX

We love the Graze. The food, wine, ambience and service are just what we look for. Post lockdown life has not exactly returned to what it was. The changes at Graze are a sign of the times. The lunch menu is simplified and is mezze plus. It’s ok but lacks the range and appeal of the old menus. The service was slow as Stephanie and helper appeared to be doing everything with no one in the kitchen. It’s still good but for a glass of wine and cold lunch it’s quite an expensive option. No doubt things will evolve and we need places like Graze to survive and thrive.

Graze on Grand is not for anyone in a hurry - but if you like treasure hunts, this wine bar plus is for you. Here is a simple palette of off-white greys, steel and wood, all with a hint of ambient music. A short chalked menu with a long eclectic wine list - just peruse the shelves and you are bound to find a friend. And if it turns into a deeper relationship you can buy them by the case and, from a display case, the art of glass - Riedel glasses, maybe one or two to take with you? There are little adventures to be had everywhere - delicious Julius Meinl Viennese ground coffee, beans, and cups are just a few of the temptations stacked in a corner full of deli delights. Even in the gorgeous charcuterie sharing platter, unopened flower buds are hiding - in the shape of Lilliput capers, as well as cornichons, caperberries and slices of radish. And on the same board, the tiniest of saucisson packs one of the biggest punches - all the way from Moons Green in Kent. We haven’t visited at night. But, if I read one review right, there’s live music and wine tastings - the discoveries go on!

The drinks were all around £3.70 each- horrific prices- the tiny tiny tiny cake ie two mouthfuls was £3.50!! Honestly such a rip off- needless to say the glass of wine was £9.50!I can’t say what dinner is like there as haven’t been and wasn’t given any menu but it is definitely not somewhere to stop for a refreshment break.
