This is a really welcoming restaurant. Suitable for everyone, The meals are absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend this place

Very disappointed with my experience ordered a breakfast , my egg came smeggy which I did ask for it flipped. When I asked for them to change it they just flipped it over on my plate made all the egg burst. I was disgusted at such service when I said something they all rolled there eyes and was very rude! Coke was also flat!! Very expensive for poor quialty food and service!!!

Sat outside and was seen to straight away given menus and ordered the full English Breakfast which comes with a tea or coffee & bread & butter x 3 , service was really good friendly and food served quickly , really nice place to sit the food was good would recommend

Me and my family visited this little restaurant for lunch, we also had two babies with us. The way we were treated by a particular member of staff who I can only describe as an emo, was disgusting, all because we had 2 prams with us. We were told to sit upstairs and leave our prams downstairs, we decided to take them upstairs as both the babies were fast asleep and didn’t want to risk waking them up due to the heat and upsetting other customers that were already in there. This staff member was so rude to all of us, the looks she was giving us, told us we couldn’t put the baby high chairs on the end of our table, tried to give me false information on the prices of food and drink even though I had a menu sat in front of me with the prices on & she also purposely decided not to serve us and serve other people. We was sat waiting for 25 minutes to be served for our drinks. Absolutely appalling customer service, won’t be going there ever again, just really wish I had the name of this staff member. I am disgusted

The Rainbow Restaurant is always a very welcoming place to visit. The staff are always very friendly and kind and always put their customers first. The group of young women who work in the restaurant always work very hard to prepare and cook your food and they never keep you waiting for too long. They have your best interests at heart. The restaurant is also clean and the food is always tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody. It is a very calm and pleasant restaurant and customers are also friendly. A great restaurant to go to

Great friendly service and food. Excellent value for money. Good size portions. I enjoyed a hearty roast meal and the mug of tea was hot and strong. Something for everyone here whatever your food preference. Continues to be high standard. Five in our party all enjoyed a different item from the menu all served together. Extremely friendly service. I think the toilet facilities have been upgraded too. Had a fresh new feel. We will definitely return on our next visit to Hastings.

Lovely cafe very clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful. I had a jacket potato with tuna and mayo. Delicious. My partner had burger and chips. Food excellent and great value.

Looking for somewhere for lunch in Hastings, and found this gem. I had a wonderful tuna salad and partner had cod and chips. Beautifully presented by polite helpful staff, and the food was excellent, and very reasonably priced. Also cash only which is fine by me. Use it or lose it. Highly recommended. Thank you.

I've been coming to this restaurant for many years wherever I visit Hastings and you are always well looked after, and the food is really good.

Very friendly staff, excellent food with real prices. Couldn’t do enough for my family when we called in for lunch while we on holiday. Beware, toilet upstairs, incase you have trouble with mobility.

Needed breakfast after night out in Hastings. Full English with tea or coffee for £6.50 served in minutes. Exactly what was needed, lovely people, great food at a good price. Needed to pay cash but that was no problem. Why would you go to a chain when there are fantastic independent places that serve their food on China plates with real cutlery. Perfect!

It was a clean place with friendly staff & the food was good. We had Jacket potatoes, one with cheese & one with prawn & Marie Rose sauce, they came with some salad. The potatoes were a bit on the small side. Only having toilets upstairs, I wouldn't recommend it for disabled people. I am disabled myself & I only just managed it. Hurt myself though!

A day out in Hastings but decided not to go to my favourite blue chip shop, so went here instead and had an omelette...... and chips. Glad I did. Really nice homely little restaurant, good food, good coffee, good service. One for my little black book!

I had Sunday breakfast here. A great location (just off the end of George Street) to watch the world go by. Also the outside area is a bit of a sun trap in decent weather. A good value English breakfast, nice filter coffee and fast, friendly service. What's not to like?

Today I had my first ever meal in The Rainbow Restaurant. I was really impressed by the restaurant on the whole. The restaurant was very clean and tidy, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and hygiene was very important to them at the restaurant. They always made sure the tables were clean and service was very efficient. We didn’t have to wait too long for food and were very looked after. The food was tasty too. I would definitely go back there again and would highly recommend this restaurant

We have used this restaurant on a previous visit to Hastings and paid a return visit for lunch on Saturday 6/11. They were very busy but we managed to get a table. The young dark haired lady who served us was very friendly. We enjoyed a prawn salad and cheeseburger and chips. The prawns were very good, Sweet and tasty. The food was served fresh and well presented. Good portions and excellent value. Good food and friendly service make it worth a visit. At this time they are only taking cash.

Really nice place. Fantastic value for money and great service. We have 4 kids so finding a restaurant that does well with that and doesn’t make you feel awkward can be hard to find, this place were really family friendly and their kids portions were just the right size. Tbh The only thing that was a bit of a negative was that they didn’t take card. Thankfully we had some cash on us. Not a huge deal but just a heads up. It’s worth taking cash out somewhere for it. Go here!

Excellent customer service and always great food even late on a Sunday

Fantastic service and food. Would definitely visit again. Only one criticism is that they do not cater for vegetarians as stated (eg no meat free options like sausages). All you get offered is an extra egg and hash brown. Would have been 5 star rating had they purchased a bag of Quorn sausages...a small price I feel. Still nevertheless the staff were faultless and the food good.

We've happened to have been in Hastings twice in the past 3/4 months and have eaten at the Rainbow on both occasions - both times, the service and food has been exemplary. Food is unfussy but delicious and the prices very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Came to the cafe today and had a great visit the staff member that served us was called Naomi and she has all the time in the world to help people and will always make sure they leave happy and well looked after

The worst breakfast I've had. Oily and hash browns disgusting. We agreed on toast and when order came out we were told " Sorry but you will have to have buttered bread because we are too busy". Coffee was disgusting as well. First and last visit.

Stopped for lunch here on Saturday 24th July 2021 with my wife , in-laws and my daughter and her partner. The food was really nice ,myself and wife had the cod and chips which was really well cooked with golden batter, the in-laws had ham, egg and chips , the slice of ham was massive .my daughter and her partner had burger and chips which they both said they really enjoyed. I would definitely recommend and would return in the future. A bonus would be if they could get there beer on draught as I’m not a fan for the bottles .

Sat outside in the sun last month and ordered a full breakfast with drinks. The young waitress was a delight, bubbly polite and a credit to the restaurant, didn't like one of the items so asked if I could change it for another egg, no problem, the mushrooms were wonderful along with all the other items on the plate and the eggs were cooked just as I wanted them. I have to say ( in a very good way) a am loathed to give this breakfast a glowing report as we will probably not be able to get in once the word has got out but they deserve all the customers they get and more and the price is fantastic for the care taken with out breakfast and the drinks. The waitress also gets a glowing report and I am sure that's why people return. Let's hope we can get in or outside again, I'll even queue and that's not me

Fabulous restaurant, situated on the front. Wide choice of meals to suit everyone. Friendly and professional staff! Fantastic liver and bacon! We'll be dropping by again soon!

Was not sure where to eat when visiting Hastings and saw the Rainbow Restaurant and so pleased we choose it. Sat outside and was served by a lovely attentive waitress called Amy who made us feel at home straight away with her friendly manner. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection. Will definitely visit again on our return to Hastings.

As visitors to the town, looking for breakfast, we stumbled upon this place. This is a regular cafe with some outside seating, and may not have the allure of others, but it proved a good choice for us.The cooked breakfast was excellent and well presented. No greasy spoon comparisons here. The waitress could not have been more helpful and pleasant.

We are holidaying in Hastings and were looking for somewhere to have lunch when we came across the Rainbow Restaurant. Our waitress was first class as was the food. My wife and I had home made steak and kidney pie and my mother in law huss and chips. My MIL commented to the waitress that the huss was cooked to perfection. The pie was excellent, the gravy thick and the vegetables cooked just right. And then there was the dessert, my wife enjoyed her banana split whilst I tucked into a lovely chocolate sundae. Well worth a visit if you are in Hastings. And being licensed I was able to enjoy a lager with my meal.

My husband and I were in Hastings today for a day out, we saw the Rainbow and thought it looked nice so decided to eat there. Wow, fabulous, I had roast chicken dinner and hubby had roast beef. It was well cooked, tasty and plenty of it. We will be back.

We came here about 10.30am on Saturday 26th September 2020. We had driven over form Eastbourne, just managed to bag the last parking spot left in the Town, and were in the mood for a cuppa. We saw this place from across the road, and I thought it looked the very part of the good, honest seaside café, and so it proved.There was a brisk breeze along the prom so opted for indoor seating. They could do with a pencil sharpener as the one to record contact details was rather worn. We had Tea and Toast, and it was just the thing we needed. The tea was hot and fresh, nothing 'artisan' or 'organic', just a good honest cup of 'Rosie'. The breakfasts passing our table looked very good, and the mushrooms-on-toast looked really very good indeed. Service was cheery and efficient.

We were on a family day out and came across this restaurant. We asked if they had room for 3 adults and 2 children (1 being 2yrs and the other 9 months) so needing highchairs. They were very quick to get us sat down and all of the staff were so lovely! From start to finish, it was such a wonderful experience and the food was amazing!! The service was very quick and we all was so impressed with everything. I would highly recommend coming here and we definitely be coming back! Thank you for your amazingness and helping to make our family day out a special one! Xx

Came here for lunch while down at flamingo park. Service was great and staff are great. Food was average with my burger tasting like something i would have at a football match. Also it is expensive for what you get. £4.80 for a football burger with a handful of chips. (Price wrong on previous)

Absolutely DISGUSTING chips! The oil they cooked them in needed changing! When the waitress asked if everything was ok and I replied no I didn't like the chips, she said REALLY? (with a tone in her voice) I said no I thought they were horrible, she came back with completely the wrong reply which was, oh well I think they're great and shrugged her shoulders and walked away. That is not the way to talk to customers by any standard! Based just on the food my advice would be go elsewhere and as far as that particular member of staff goes she most certainly wouldn't be employed by me!

I have visited since my children were little (20years) and we’d holiday in cambersands. Obviously not high end dining but without a doubt the place to go for really good food at cheap prices. Whether it be going in for a breakfast or fish and chip lunch, it’s perfect.Staff are very helpful and sweet. I’m sure I will be visiting for many years to come.

Very nice restaurant and food, however my concern was with the staff. A couple ladies (one of whom looked rather young) were very insubordinate and were very rude upon our arrival.

Fantastic roast dinner served by lovely Hannah. Hannah was so sweet and pleasant and bought us the best beef roast dinner I've had in ages. Great portions too, and lots of gravy. Just perfect food and great service too. We will definitely be back again.

Hannah served us with the most delicious beef roast, loads of beef, crunchy vegetables, the best Yorkshire pudding ever and the roast potatoes were lovely. Hannah was so sweet and pleasant, a delightful young lady with a lovely happy smile. We will definitely be back again.

We visited this nice cafe/Restaurant and were greeted by cheerful friendly staff.My wife and I had a breakfast and our son had a ham omelette. We had bread and butters which came with the meal.We had tea. I had a banana split for my desert.The food and happy service was excellent.Can recommend.Will visit again.

In the middle of a lot of fish and chip restaurants The Rainbow stands out. Don't be deterred by the small fish based part of the menu, the quality is superb and a real case of less is more. Both the fish and chips were cooked to perfection and the service was superb. If you want a true, non greasy, fish meal in Hastings, The Rainbow should be your first choice.

Love this one the food is really good. I had a cheese omelette and chips which I have to say was easily one of the best I have tasted in a long time.

Me and my brother found this wonderful Restaurant 2 years ago when we moved down from Thornton Heath, Surrey. The food is delicious, and the staff are very friendly. Went in The Rainbow Restaurant today and ordered the Gammon Grill. Lovely meal, and lovely customer service from Sharma, Kat and Aloha.. we wouldn't go anywhere else in Hastings to eat.

Visited on the 11th of August for refreshmentsand was rudely refused service. We were told jeeringly that they would not serve us "just three cups of tea" upon entry. Avoid at all costs, the staff lack the decorum and manners of their counterparts in other establishments.

Excellent food, service is by younger staff but all are lovely. Food is priced excellently and we always visit the Rainbow when in Hastings.
