The Harrow is our favourite pub, but today was exceptional as it was cold and rainy - where in the world do you get hot water bottles and a special fire built for your private lunch in the garden under shelter? The food is always delicious and the quirky homely atmosphere is always a delight to share with friends and family. Thank you Clare.

The Harrow has a lot of character. It is laid-back and homely, with very generous servings. I had a 'lockdown quiche' and bread and butter pudding, which are pictured for reference. In addition to the pictured quiche, they also provided a large slice of bread (which came in a paper bag since it couldn't fit on the plate!) In the garden, there are plenty of adventurous birds (mostly robins) eager to have a share of your food too- but only if you put some aside for them! They aren't like seagulls that will nab your whole plate the second you look away.

An absolutely charming, unpretentious, old english pub that has barely changed in years. The staff are so welcoming, and this just adds to the friendly atmosphere that greets you as you take a step inside. The food is non fussy but superb none the least, as is the beer. I highly recommend the oyster stout on keg, my "go to" whenever I am visiting👌. All this and a super cosy fireplace that warms your cold limbs in no time and just adds to the charm of this excellently run village pub. I love this place!

Right , I do not easily give out five stars, but if you embrace this pub, it is the best of its type. The food is soup, sandwiches or ploughman’s, but all very good. We had beef sandwiches which were excellent. Draught real ales terrific. Pub interior and gardens are eclectic and there were individual plants and cut flowers on sale. The garden furniture has seen better days, but fits , and you are surrounded by flowers. I enquired about a particular cut flower on our table and was given a trowel and bag and told to dig up a couple to take home. What a lovely thing to do. Note, their normal car park is being used for more outside seating , so opposite the pub is a lane to a field to park up. you have to leave your contact details which is reassuring AND the only take cash or cheques !!! Fantastic, and we will return.

Four of us, for a reunion lunch, many recommendations took us to this door. Splendid weather. If you want good food and atmosphere you might do better elsewhere. A lump of cheap cheese, three lettuce leave and a whole tastless tomato served with a slab of white bread with a heavy crust but no taste. An air of lockdown gloom pervades but if you seek a blast from the past and to be reminded of how things were in the 1970s, this is the place for you. As my face fell they said “Have your lunch and then you can send a cheque when you get home”I decided to get some cash but was not allowed to leave before eating my fabulous split pea and ham soup with a really tasty cask bitter. I feel very lucky that I get to go to places like this during my working day. There was a line of people waiting at ten to twelve awaiting opening time. Top tip. The Harrow is one of the best pubs in Hampshire, and maybe all of England. It's friendly, traditional, and does everything a good country pub should do: beer by the barrel, ploughmans, an open fire, and a wide array of chatty locals. It's run by two sisters who've done a marvellous job of holding back modernity from changing it into a generic 21st century boozer. Walking into the main bar feels like going back in time. It's particularly good fun on a Saturday lunchtime. I simply couldn't recommend it more highly.

We were pleased to find this unusual lunch stop in the country near Petersfield. There was a lovely fire and we loved the old beams and character of this place. The soup and bread was excellent but the scotch egg and salad disappointing. Large lettuce leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, a little sliced onion constituted the salad. Although there was a local group of people together there was an unfriendly attitude even though we sat closely together. A large dog under the table kept nosing us annoyingly too.

I hadn't visited the Harrow for some time and I approached with trepidation in case the old place had changed but I need not have worried. It is unchanged since I first discovered this little gem some 40+ years ago.

I had come across this pub when out for a walk and decided to go back and visit it with my husband. A sunny spring day and the pub was busy. Very small and cosy inside and a beautiful garden to enjoy the spring sunshine. Not an extensive menu but generous portions and flavoursome. We both had sandwiches and the filling was plentiful as the was the salad garnish. It appeared to be well supported by the locals and the staff were very friendly.

Booked a table for 12 for my dads birthday. They really spent time decorating the table and making it special. The staff were so friendly and lovely interacting with our two five year olds, thanks guy
